Admissions 2013-2014
Applications on prescribed form from eligible candidates have been
invited for admission to Ph.D. programme in various Departments/Centres as
follows, of Jamia Millia Islamia for Academic Year 2013-14:

Faculty of Humanities and Languages
2.
Faculty of Social Sciences
3.
Faculty Natural Sciences
4.
Faculty of Education
5.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology
6.
Faculty of Law

Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics &
8.
Centres
A candidate for admission to the Programme for Degree of Doctor of
Philosophy must have obtained at least a Second Class Masters Degree with not
less than 55% of marks of a University or a Degree recognized by the University
as its equivalent in the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a
course of research or in a subject allied thereto.
A relaxation to the extent of 5 % of marks in the subject
concerned/ subject allied thereto will be given to the candidates belonging to
Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and persons with disabilities.
The following category of Candidates are exempted from taking
entrance test for Ph. D. Programme:
(i) Candidates who have qualified UGC/ CSIR NET/ JRF examination
or any other equivalent examination conducted by the recognized Governmental
Department/ Institute/ Agency/ SLET / valid GATE with a minimum score of 65 or
having successfully completed regular M. Phil. Programme of two years duration
from a recognized university / institution
(ii) The teacher fellowship holders of the recognized college/
university/ institution, provided that the competent employing authority issues
a No Objection Certificate to the candidate to join the Ph.D Programme
(iii) ICCR- Sponsored candidates
The application form for admission can be downloaded from the
website http://www.jmi.ac.in and the printout can be submitted in
respective Departments/Centres addressed
to The Chairman, Board of Studies/ Committee of Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia,
New Delhi–110025 along with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 1,000/- from any
Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of the "Registrar, Jamia Millia
Islamia", payable at New Delhi
Last
date for submission of completed application with necessary documents is July
15, 2013.
