Admission to Ph.D. Programme for the Academic Year 2014-2015

National Institute of Immunology (Nil) is an autonomous institution under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Nil ,is committed to advanced research in 

1) Chemical Biology 

2) Genetics & Cell Signalling, 

3) Immunity & Infection, 

4) Molecular & Cellular Biology, 

5) Reproduction & Development and 

6) Structural & Computational Biology. 

Minimal academic qualifications required are: M.Sc. or equivalent in any branch of science, or M.Tech. or MBBS or M.V.Sc. or M.Pharm. or equivalent qualification as per the norms of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, along with 60% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) and Bachelor's Degree and at least 55% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Master's Degree is required. 

The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or are likely to complete the required courses this year. Reservations are as per statutory norms. Nil will select candidates for Ph.D. programme through the following CHANNELS

• ·     Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS; December 2013)
• ·         Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
• ·         DBT Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF)
• ·         ICMR Junior Research Fellowship (ICMR-JRF)
• ·         Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

Candidates applying for Ph.D. at Nil will be short-listed for an interview based on JGEEBILS (December 2013) or their scores/ranks in examinations (CSIR, DBT, ICMR or GATE) mentioned in CHANNELS II to V above. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D program affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The last date for submission of applications is April 6, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained on any ground including postal delays.
