ABOUT ABV-IIITM GWALIOR, MP
Atal Bihari Vajpayee - Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior (ABV-IIITM Gwalior) is India’s premier Institute, incepted by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India in the year 1997 as a center of excellence in the field of Information Technology and Management. It is foremost Institute provides superior quality higher education in the above areas and is located in the city of Gwalior in the northern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The Institute activities are aimed at developing a culture of inquiry and research through highly competitive academic environment, and close interaction between the Institute and the corporate world. ABOUT THE LAB
The Behavioral Economics Experiments and Analytics Laboratory (BEE&A) is dedicated to experimental research on economic decision-making and strategic interactions. Experimental Economics has proved useful over the years to test economic theories, disentangle between them, and help build new theories capable of better explaining observed behavior.
Applications range from individual decisions thunder risk to market design, industrial organization or political economy. The main focus of this lab to do cutting edge research, training and consultancy on Consumer Behaviour, Investment Behaviour, Entrepreneurship Behaviour, Employee Behavior and Citizen Behaviour. BEE&A offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure to pursue experimental and analytic studies. It is located in the Academics Block-D of the Institute with its workstations, media lab, focus group discussion platform, training hall, syndicate exercise hall and other multimedia equipment. It offers an ideal platform to study individual decision-making, social interactions in groups, or group formation.

ABOUT THE POGRAMME
The Behavioural Economics Experiments and Analytics Laboratory of ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior, was established to promote access to Research scholar pursuing Ph.D/ interested to purse Ph.D / Young Faculty having Ph.D who may not have exposure to the academic environment of a research university. The program offers summer research opportunities in the field of Management, Economics, Sociology and Commerce with special focuses in Consumer Behaviour, Investment Behaviour Entrepreneurship Behaviour, Employee Behaviour and Citizen Behaviour. SRRP is a one month program that will commence on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, and continue through Wednesday, July 30, 2014. The goal of this program is to increase the level of diversity among students entering Ph.D. programs by providing research opportunities under the supervision of a faculty mentor. The programme is designed to address this need. It broadly encompasses the entire research process from problem definition to report/thesis writing.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
 To provide students with preparation to become research scholars;
 To encourage interaction between the research scholars from various institutes;
 To offer a platform for showcasing doctoral research being carried out at IIIT/ IIT/IIM and other institutes;
 To bridge gaps between academia and industry for productive and applied research;
 To bring awareness about research and entrepreneurial career directions after PhD.
 To provide a training pogramme on Research Methodology, Multivariate Analysis, Econometrics Modeling, Multi Criteria Decision Making Tools, Reference Management, Research Paper Writing, Thesis Writing etc.

 FOR WHOM
The summer research internships will be offered on a competitive basis to those individuals who, at the application deadline:
a) Lecturers/ Reader of Management, Economics, Sociology and Commerce are working in the Universities and Colleges, who is included in the list of Colleges under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act,
b) Faculty of Management, Economics, Sociology and Commerce in a Management Institute affiliated with AICTE with minimum 2 years of teaching experiences
c) Temporary / Contract teachers who have been teaching for at least two academic sessions in an institution which is affiliated to a University for at least two years.
d) Enrolled full time/ part time research scholar in any university/ Institute registered after the year 2012
e) Industry Professional having minimum 3 years of experiences
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
Participants are encouraged to express interest in a specific area of research. All research is substantive, requiring the full-time
commitment of the participants (Thirty days /40 hours per week). In conjunction with the requirements of the faculty mentors,
all participants are required to submit a research paper and make a final presentation. Participants also participate in
supplemental activities (workshops, meetings, and laboratory experiment) to enhance their program experience and preparation
for research work.

COURSE STRUCTURE: (Five module)
A. Module-1: 6 days
Research Methodology and Statistics: research problem, research design, scaling measurement, review of studies, reference management, field research and experiments, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, hypothesis designing, ANNOVA and MANNOVA, Application of statistics in research
Software: SPSS, GRETAL, Qualitative analysis software, Media research software, Observation XT software
B. Module-2: 6 days
Multivariate Analysis in Research: Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor analysis, Structural equation modelling, Multiple Regression Analysis, Multidimensional Scaling Cluster Analysis, Discriminant analysis Software: SPSS, AMOS, E-views, Excel solver in
C. Module-3: 6 days
Basic Econometrics and Financial Econometrics in Research: Regression Modeling: Ordinary Least Square, Multicollinearity, Heteroscedasticity, Autocorrelation; Time-series Modeling: Univariate Model-in(ARMA), Multivariate Modeling (VAR), Modeling Long run relationship (Cointegration, ECM); Advanced Econometrics Modeling: Dummy Variable Model, Logit and Probit Models, Lag Models; Software: E-views.
D. Module-4: 5 days
Multi-Criteria Decision Making Tools in Research: Analytics Hierarchical Process (AHP), Analytics Network Process (ANP); DEMATAl, TOPSIS, VIKOR, and Data Envelopment Analysis
E. Module-5: 6 days
Research paper and, Thesis writing : References style: Harvard Reference, Chicago reference style, APA style, IEEE style, styles of writing, formats of research paper ( Inderscience, Elsvier, Emerald , IEEE style) , Latex writing, Mendely software for reference manage, Zoreto software and Research proposal writing Plenary talk: Every Morning class and Panel Discussion: Every day after dinner
The details topics of plenary talk and panel discussion will be distribute during registration.

PEDAGOGY
The programme delivery will have a mix of lectures, demonstrations, interactive sessions, assignments and hands-on training on the latest version software. Participants are requested to bring their laptop (if Possible) during training session or Personal Computers will be made available to each participant during the programme as live exercises would be conducted. Study materials will be provided as part of the programme. Participants will be provided with the relevant industry example data sets for the purpose of analysts in order to facilitate the experimental learning.

Every participant will be evaluated and grades “A” to “D” will be awarded

The resource people on this particular pogramme are from IIITM, IIT and IIM and other renowned expertise from research
organisation in India and abroad.

REGISTRATION
There are only 30 seats vacant for participating in the discussed programme. Shortlisted participant will be getting information by the organizing Committee, thereafter, shortlisted participant is required to deposit/transfer fee on the mentioned accounts only through Bank transfer on or before 30th  June, 2014.

HOW TO REACH GWALIOR
By Air: Daily flights are available to Delhi and Mumbai.
By Rail: Train is the most convenient option to reach Gwalior. The railway station is located within the city and falls on the main Delhi – Mumbai and Delhi – Chennai rail links. The institute is approximately 09 kilometers from the railway station and auto-rickshaw charges are Rs.60 – Rs.70.
By Road: Gwalior is well connected by the road network to the important cities of MP and adjoining states. The bus services are available to/from various cities like Haridwar, Delhi, Agra, Jhansi, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Shivpuri, Khajuraho, Chanderi.
Taxis are also available from nearby important cities.
