Applications have been invited for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University for admission to MBBS course at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute (MGMCRI), Puduvai-Cuddallore Road, Pillaiyarkuppam, Puducherry-607402.

Applicant should have passed the H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/OBC) in Biology (Botany & Zoology), Physics and Chemistry and should have taken English as one of the subjects. Applicant should also secure above 50% marks in the CET. The maximum number of appearances (including the first appearance) permitted to pass the qualifying examination is 2 for SC/ST and one for OBC/Others. Applicant should be 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009.

Application from and Information Booklet can be obtained from the College Office on payment of Rs.1000/- by Cash or it can be obtained by Post by sending a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/- drawn in favour of 'Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University', payable at Puducherry.

Application can be downloaded from www.balajitrust.org filled up and submitted with a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/-. Information Brochure can also be downloaded from the site.

The completed applications should reach the 'Controller of Examinations (CETMGMCRI-2009), Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Puduvai-Cuddallore Main Road, Pillaiyarkuppam, Puducherry-607402 latest by 5 pm on 23.5.2009.

The CET will be held on 30th May, 2009 at Puducherry, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The Examination in Physics & Chemistry will be from 10.30 am to 12.30 noon and that of Botany and Zoology, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The syllabus for the CET is given in the Information Brochure available at http://www.balajitrust.org/.

Applicants are required to send a copy of the mark list of the qualifying examination within 10 days after declaration of results by the concerned authorities to claim admission base don the rank list. Rank list will be published in June and Counselling will be in July 2009. The exact dates for both will be announced later. Classes will commence in the first week of August 2009.
