Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Course 2012-13 in Kerala in AICTE approved institutions of Kerala for the academic year 2012-13.

Applications have to be submitted online from 12-09-2012 to 24-09-2012, 5pm.

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Course 2012-13 in Kerala in AICTE approved institutions of Kerala for the academic year 2012-13.

2. Eligibility for Admission:
(a) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen.

(b) Academic Eligibility:
1. Colleges affiliated to the UNIVERSITY of KERALA
Candidates should have passed Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration after 10+2 level with a minimum of 50% marks in the subject component(s) in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Engineering and Technology as a Main/Subsidiary/Core subject.

2. Colleges affiliated to the MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY
A pass with not less than 50% marks in any recognised regular Bachelor’s Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level. or A pass with not less than 50% marks in any recognised regular Bachelor’s Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics (this does not include Business Mathematics or Business Statistics) as one of the Subjects or A pass with not less than 50% marks in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognised University

A pass in the above prescribed qualifying examination for SC/ST candidates. SEBC candidates will be a given 2% relaxation in minimum marks prescribed for general candidates. Physically handicapped candidates will be given of 5% relaxation in the minimum marks. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in more than one chance in the subject (excluding languages) will have their percentage marks derated at the rate of 5% for every additional appearance.

3. Colleges affiliated to the UNIVERSITY of CALICUT
Bachelors Degree in any discipline of three years duration with Mathematics (this does not include Business Mathematics or Business Statistics) as one of the subjects with at least 50% marks scored in Mathematics and the Course undergone under the regular programme recognised by the Calicut University. 5% relaxation in marks will be allowed in the case of SEBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates pass in examination is required.

4. Colleges affiliated to the KANNUR UNIVERSITY
A pass in any recognised regular Bachelor’s Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level. or A pass in any recognised Regular Bachelor’s Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the Subjects or A pass in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognised University.
Note: Candidates who are appearing / have appeared for the qualifying examination this year are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination, subject to the condition that the entire mark list of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission.

3. Entrance Examination: The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on 13.10.2012 (Saturday) from 10.00 AM to 12.00 NOON. It will be of 2 hours duration and will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions. The Questions will cover Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, General Knowledge, General English and Fundamentals of Computer Awareness at Graduate level.

4. How and When to Apply: Candidates seeking admission to the Course can apply online on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in  of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The website will be open for online registration from 12.09.2012 to 24.09.2012, 5 PM.

5. Application Fee: For General and SEBC candidates, the application fee is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only) and for SC/ST Candidates, the application fee is Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only).The required fee can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is available in the online application print out. The Original Chalan duly signed and authenticated by the bank authorities should be attached along with the print out of the application form. Candidates outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by attaching a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee will not be refunded on any account.

6. Last date and time for receipt of print out of application: Candidates should take printout of the online application and affix a self attested passport size photograph, identical to the one which has been uploaded, in the space provided. This application along with the required documents should be forwarded to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by registered post or by hand delivery so as to reach the office before 5 pm on 25.09.2012. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “APPLICATION FOR MCA COURSE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION - 2012”.

7. Belated, incomplete and defective applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be made in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.

8. Candidates will not be allowed to include any additional information in the application form or to submit any certificate / document claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances.

9. Certificates submitted in the prescribed format available along with the print out of application alone will be accepted.

10. The candidates registered for the examination can download their ADMIT CARDS from the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in  from 03.10.2012 onwards. The admit card thus obtained should be brought to the exam hall.

11. Allotment of Seats: The institution wise allotment will be made by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in accordance with the rank obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Examination and the order of preference of institutions registered by the candidates during Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). The details of CAP will be notified in the website and in leading news papers. Individual intimation in this regard will not be sent to candidates.

12. The Entrance Examination and subsequent allotments will be based on the provisions laid down in the Prospectus for Admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Course, Kerala 2012-13, approved by the Government, which is available on the web site www.ceekerala.org.  Candidates should go through the Prospectus before submitting their applications.
