Leaders in Urban Transport Planning and Management
We are pleased to announce a capacity building program for in-service professionals called the “Leaders in Urban Transport Planning and Management”. This program is organized jointly by the Centre of Excellence in Urban Transport, CEPT University and The World Bank as part of the ongoing SUTP project of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.
The program is designed for senior and mid level transport professionals. The program consists of 4 modules of total ten months out of which only 2.5 to 3 weeks, the participants are expected to be away from their duty.
Module1: Self Study
The self study module is eight weeks long. Self paced learning material will provide a comprehensive overview of policies, programs, plans, problems and projects related to urban transport.
Module 2: Workshop
The workshop seeks to create awareness of what integrated mobility planning involves, its different components and how it needs to be undertaken. It will use a “hands on” learning approach, making extensive use of case studies, group exercises and site visits.
The candidates will be required to travel to Ahmedabad and should be release from their work for the duration of the workshop (approximately 9 days)
Module 3:Mentoring
As part of this program, a candidate will work closely with an expert on specific area of interest. This would enhance analytical skills and critical thinking while contributing to the existing knowledge base of the participant. The candidates will be required to travel for review meetings in October 2013 & December 2013 (approximately 2 days each).
Module 4:International Study Tour
International study tour covering two locations in South East Asia will be organized. The candidates should be released from their work for the duration of the international study tour (approximately 8 days).

Module 3 Mentor Aug 11, 2013 to Feb 1, 2014
Module 4 International Study Tour 3rd or 4th week of Mar 2014
