CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILTY FOR ADMISSION
3.1
Candidate must be a citizen of India.
As per the
regulations issued by the AICTE regarding the criteria of eligibility for admission and procedure for selection to
the Engineering course.
Academic: A
Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education
of Govt. of Kerala or any examination equivalent thereto with at least fifty
percent marks in Mathematics separately and fifty percent marks in
Mathematics,Physics and Chemistry/ equivalent subjects put together or
equivalent grade.
Lateral Entry: A pass in Diploma in Engineering awarded by
the State Board of Technical Education or Equivalent after undergoing regular
course of 3 years in an approved Institution are eligible for admission.
Eligible candidates are admitted in third Semester.
Age: Applicant should be completed 17 years of age at the time of Admission.
Lateral
Entry: Maximum age as on the last date of admission of application will be 28 years.
HOW TO APPLY
The Prospectus
along with the application form can be obtained from the SIST City office, “PLRA-184,Panachimoodu Lane, Near
Kendriya Vidyalaya, pattom Palace.P.O.,
Thiruvananthapuram -695004, Phone: 0471-4016565,4016564,4016563 on payment of Rs.300.
Application
can be submitted on the forms available with the prospectus.
OR
Application from can be downloaded from the
website www.sist.in. Such applications have to be submitted along with a
DD of Rs.300/- drawn in favour of The
Principal, Sarabhai Institute of Science and Technology, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
The duly
filled in application along with self attested copies of necessary documents should be submitted directly or by
registered post with A/D to the College
Office so as to reach the Office. Applicants shall obtain acknowledgement from the Office for applications submitted
directly.
Applications
submitted to the Office should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the
application form in his/her own handwriting.
The
following copies of certificates/documents shall be submitted along with the
application.
a. 10th
/12th
Certificate in proof of date of birth.
b. Admit
card of the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance
Examination, Govt. of Kerala.
c. Mark
list of qualifying examination and Entrance examination.
d. Transfer
Certificate and conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended, issued within
the last six months from the date of application.
Selection
for Management Quota will be strictly on merit, rank list published by Commissioner Entrance Examination, Govt. of
Kerala. Selected candidates have to
appear for an Interview before the final selection without fail.
ADMISSION TO M.Tech PROGRAMMES
Copies of
documents to be submitted along with the application form
Qualifying
examination certificate/provisional certificate and mark lists.
GATE score
card (for candidates with valid GATE score).
Community
certificate issued by the competent authority for candidates claiming eligibility for reservation under SC/ST quota.
Proof of
date of birth.
Sponsorship
certificate from the competent authority in the prescribed format
(For sponsored candidates).
Migration
Certificate if required
Procedure for selection
a) The
selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE score.
b) If
sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be
based on the marks obtained in the
qualifying examination and the Test/Interview conducted by the college as per the direction of the University.
c) Merit
list for the different categories will be published in the College notice
boards.
d) Selected
candidates should take admission at the appointed time after paying the tuition
fees and other fees including those to
be paid to the University. Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate issued from the Institution last
attended must be produced at the time of admission.
e) Selected
candidates are required to deposit their original certificates at the College at the time of admission.

The Courses leading to the degree of Master of
Technology (M.Tech) will span for a period of four Semesters (2 years). The
span of a semester will be six months including the University examination.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria is as per the rules and
regulations of Cochin University of Science & Technology/AICTE:
a) The
candidates having Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the appropriate branch with a minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent.
b)
Candidate having AMIE in the appropriate branch of Engineering with minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent.
c)
Candidate with Valid GATE Score.
d) The
candidate will be selected from the list published by DTE.
e) Non GATE
candidates will have to appear for a test/interviews conducted by the concerned
Department, as per the direction given
by the University.
f)
Candidates who have degrees awarded from Universities other than CUSAT have to
submit Migration Certificate also at the
time of admission.
g)
Candidates who have appeared for the final examination can also apply, provided
he/she has passed all the subjects up to
and including the 7th semester exam. Such candidates shall submit self attested copies of all mark lists up to
7th semester along with the application. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production
of Certificates, satisfying clauses (a) to (e).
How to Apply
Application may be submitted in the prescribed
form available at College/ City Office on payment of Rs.500/- cash. Application
is to be accompanied with self attested copies of required documents.

hundred only) drawn in favour of Principal, SIST payable at Thiruvananthapuram
along with the downloaded filled application form.
