Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Bengali, Department of Bengali Language and Literature, University of Calcutta, 87/1 College street, Asutosh Building(1st floor) Kolkata-73. Candidates should apply in the prescribed format by paying Rs.100/- through a challan obtainable from College Street Campus (Cash Counter). Application form will be available from the University website and filled up applications are to be submitted to the office of H.O.D , Bengali Department along with the self-attested copies of all testimonials and pay voucher.

The last date of submission of application: 25.08.2014.

The total number of seat: 22.

Date of written test: 09th September 2014 at 2 P.m.

Eligibility Criterion :

1. At least 55% marks in M.A examination from any University (5% less for S.C. & S.T. candidates as per UGC rules).Only M.A. degree holders are to be supposed for written test.

2. Those candidates who have already passed UGC /(JRF) Examinations / NET / SET/SLET /M. Phil (Bengali only) need not appear at the written examination and can directly apply to appear at the interview.
