ABOUT THE COURSE
The Certificate Course in Scientific and Technical Writing is an introductory, a need based and skills oriented, applied language course for participants who have limited or no experience in formal writing skills in the context of Science and Technology.

The course emphasizes improvement in written communication skills, particularly the skills for academic and research writing which is rather a complex creative activity, highly formal, learned and specialized, and not an automatic, mechanical or indifferent process.

The course aims to train the participant: how the content of science and technology is given linguistic expression; how language is used to give expression to certain reasoning process; how it is used to receive and interpret written and graphic information; how it is used, for example, to define, describe, classify, explain, hypothesis, generalize, or conclude, etc; in short, how it is used in scientific discourse. It also focuses on such academic skills development as outlining, summarizing, and paraphrasing.

The course is non-residential. On successful completion, the participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

INR 7000/- (Rupees seven thousand only) per participant to be paid (in cash) at the cash section, ISM Dhanbad in favour of “Certificate Course in Scientific and Technical Writing”. The participation will be confirmed on a first come first basis up to a maximum of 25 candidates. The course fee is refundable if the course is cancelled for unavoidable reasons.
