The
Institute invites applications for admission to its
Masters (M.Tech) and Doctoral (PhD) programmes for the session commencing from
January 2013 as per the following details:
Eligibility
for Admission:
M. Tech. (Regular and Sponsored):
Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): B Tech/
BE in any engineering discipline OR M.Sc in Mathematics, Statistics or a
similar discipline OR MCA with (a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and
(b) valid GATE score in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information
Technology/ Mathematics/ Engineering Sciences (compulsorily with Sections
Computational Science and Electrical Science) for regular students.
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE):
B Tech/ BE in Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/
Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation
Engineering or a similar discipline OR M Sc in Electronics/ Electronics
Science/ Physics/ Mathematics or a similar discipline with (a) minimum
marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and (b) valid GATE score in Electronics and
Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation
Engineering/Physics for regular students.
Mechanical Engineering (ME): B Tech/ BE in
Mechanical Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/
Production Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Production and Industrial
Engineering/ Metallurgical Engineering/ Manufacturing Science and Engineering/
Energy Engineering or a similar discipline with (a) minimum marks/CPI in
Qualifying Degree and (b) valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering/Production
and Industrial Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering/Engineering Sciences
(compulsorily with any two of the sections Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science,
Solid Mechanics or Thermodynamics) for regular students.
Mechatronics: Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree
in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics engineering/ Electronics
and Communication Engineering/ Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering/
Computer Science and Engineering are eligible for admission to this M.Tech.
programme (a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and (b) valid GATE score
in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics
and Communication Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering,
Computer Science and Engineering for regular students.
Minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree for
M.Tech./M.Des.: 55% marks / 5.5 CPI (on a 10-point scale) as long as it is at
least seven percent higher than the minimum pass marks /CPI for General
Category applicants and minimum passing marks for
SC/ST/OBC applicants.
PhD (Regular, Sponsored and External):
Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): M Tech/
ME in Computer Science & Engineering or
Information Technology or a similar discipline with
minimum marks/ CPI in Qualifying Degree.
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE):
M Tech/ ME in Electronics/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/
Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline with minimum marks/ CPI in
Qualifying Degree.
Mechanical Engineering (ME): M Tech / ME in
Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering /
Production and Industrial Engineering or a similar discipline with minimum
marks / CPI in Qualifying Degree.
Minimum % of marks in Qualifying Degree for Ph.D.:
55% marks or CPI of 5.5 (on a 10-point scale) for General Category applicants
and minimum passing marks for SC/ST/OBC applicants Candidates who are on
permanent role in NITs, IIITs, Central Universities, Govt. Universities,
Defence R&D organization, PSUs for at least two years shall be eligible to
apply for admission under the category of External Registration Programme.
General
information:
Reserved seats will be filled as per Govt. of India
rules, (ii) Institute Assistantship is provided to M.Techand Ph.D. students as
per Govt. of India rules.

for PG admission can be downloaded from the Institute website www.iiitdmj.ac.in from October 09, 2012. Filled up Application Forms
along with a Demand Draft of Rs.200/- for Gen and OBC & Rs.100/- for SC/ST
category candidates, in favor of The Registrar, PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, issued by
any nationalized bank, payable at Jabalpur must be received latest by November
05, 2012 through Speed/ Registered Post only. Applicants must write
the programme and the discipline applied for, on the cover of the envelope. The
list of short-listed candidates and other announcements regarding admission
will be uploaded on Institute’s website www.iiitdmj.ac.in
