Ph.D Admission Notice 2013
The
Institute invites applications from post graduate candidates for admission to
the PhD programme in Biological Sciences starting from January 2013. IBSD is an
autonomous R & D institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry
of Science and Technology, Govt. of India with excellent research facilities
for sustainable development of bioresources using tools of modern biology.
Broad area of research at the Institute is Plant Bioresources, Microbial
Bioresources and Animal Bioresources. Selected candidates shall be eligible for
the monthly stipend and annual contingency grant which will be higher than that
of normal fellowship programme.
Eligibility:
•
Candidates shall be eligible for registration in an ongoing programme of
research in IBSD leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), if he/she
has obtained 55% marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the
Master’s Degree Examination.
•
A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% marks in aggregate in
Master Degree examination shall be eligible for registration.
PhD
programmes:
•
Admission to the PhD programme shall be done in the month of December 2012.
•
The programme will start on 1st week of January 2013.
•
Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-JRF
examination are eligible for direct interview.
Selection
procedure:
•
If number of CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-JRF qualified applicants are
more than the available PhD positions, selection will be based on only
interview with the NET/JRF qualified candidates.
•
Selected candidates will be informed to join the PhD programme of IBSD within a
week time from the date of announcement of result.
•
Candidates are requested to refer to the Institutes website (www.ibsd.gov.in) for Application Form and PhD Notifications.
Application
procedure (should be followed strictly):
1.
Application should be typed on A4-size plain paper in the prescribed format.
Applications sent by e-mail with scan copy of required enclosures will also be
accepted and such application should be sent to director.ibsd@nic.in
2.
Each page of the typed application form should be SIG
ED by the candidate.
3.
No application Fee will be charged by the Institute.
4.
Applications should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark
sheets mentioning the division obtained.
5.
TWO recent passport size photographs should be enclosed. One of these should be
signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form.
6.
A self-addressed stamped (Rs. 10/-) envelop of 10cm x 22cm should be enclosed.
7.
Hard copy of the duly filled applications should be sent to ‘THE DIRECTOR(i/c),
INSTITUTE OF BIORESOURCES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, TAKYELPAT, IMPHAL-795001
so as to reach
on or before 5th November, 2012.
8.
Date of an interview November 10, 2012.
9.
The candidates must provide their mobile number and correct email address as
most of the correspondence will be done by these media due to shortage of time.
10.
Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be
entertained. The decisions of the Admission Committee will be final and binding
and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Results of entrance examination and interview will be available in the website
of IBSD, Imphal (www.ibsd.gov.in) and all correspondence must be done through
IBSD email: director.ibsd@nic.in
