Applications have been invited by Indian Institute
of Technology, Guwahati for admission to following courses of Academic Year
2015-16.

Eligibility:
1. M.A. in Development studies:
A Bachelor’s (10+2+3) degree (Major/Honours) or
equivalent from a recognized University, in any
discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale
(45% marks or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates) in
major/honours only
OR
Candidates not having Major/Honours courses, must
have the concerned degree with a minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI in a
10-point scale for General/OBC category candidates and a minimum 45% aggregate
marks or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD category candidates.

3. MTech in Theoretical Computer Science
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or
equivalent in an appropriate area or MSc (Computer Science/Information Technology)
or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineers (IETE) in Computer Science & Engineering or MCA from a recognized
Institution, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks or First Class in the
qualifying degree, and a valid GATE score in CS.
OR,
MSc (Mathematics/Mathematics &
Computing/Statistics) from a recognized Institution, with a minimum CPI of 6.5
or 60% of marks or First Class in the qualifying degree, and a valid GATE score
in MA.
4. Master of Science by Research [M.S.(R)] in
Energy
A Minimum CPI of 6.5 in a 10-point scale or 60% of
marks or First Class in B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent in any discipline along
with a valid GATE score or NET(JRF)/INSPIRE qualified.
Or
B Tech degrees in any discipline from an IIT with a
minimum CPI of 8.0 or above in which case GATE score is not mandatory.
5. Ph.D:

6. Dual (MTech+PhD):
B.E/B.Tech in any discipline other than CSE or IT
or equivalent, with any one of the following criteria (Please note that this
programme is not meant for engineering graduates in computer or information
technology related disciplines) :
a. a CPI
of 7.5 or marks of 70% and a valid GATE score in any subject, if the qualifying
B E/B Tech degree is not from an IIT
b. a CPI
of 8.0 only, if the qualifying B Tech degree is from an IIT
c. a CPI
of 7.0 (or more) but less than 8.0, and a valid GATE score in any subject, if
the qualifying B Tech degree is from an IIT
7. Dual Degree [MS(Engg.)+PhD]
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in any
area or equivalent with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks.
A valid GATE score in any subject.
Application Procedure:
For filling-up Online Application Form, first of
all, please keep ready with you the following documents (including scanned soft
copies of some of the documents, as specified below, to be available in your
computer or CD or Pen Drive for direct uploading).
Then visit website https://auto.iitg.ernet.in
(i) A
scanned soft copy of your recent coloured photograph of size more than 15 KB
but less than 80 KB (4.5 cm. x 3.5 cm.) with file type jpeg or jpg or gif only,
for direct uploading in to the Online Application Form. Please note that
uploading of your coloured photograph is mandatory.
IF A SCANNED COPY OF YOUR COLOURED PHOTOGRAPH IS
NOT UPLOADED, YOUR ON-LINE APPLICATION MAY BE REJECTED.
(ii) A copy
of your Date of Birth(DoB) Certificate (this will be required, if DoB is not
mentioned in your Class X/XII Pass Certificate/Mark Sheet);
(iii) If applicable, a scanned soft copy [ IN PDF
FORMAT ONLY ] of your Caste Certificate [including OBC(NCL) Certificate as per
format prescribed below)], for direct uploading in to the Online Application
Form. Please note that OBC(NCL) certificate should be issued by the competent
authority on or after 01-04-2014.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU APPLY AS SC/ST/OBC(NCL) CANDIDATE, BUT DO NOT UPLOAD A
SCANNED COPY OF THE APPROPRIATE CASTE CERTIFICATE, YOUR CLAIM FOR CONSIDERATION
UNDER RESERVATION CATEGORY MAY BE REJECTED; AND YOU MAY BE CONSIDERED UNDER
GENERAL CATEGORY.
(iv) if
applicable, attested copy of your `PD’ Certificate;
(v) Scanned soft copies [ IN PDF FORMATS ONLY ] of
(a) Pass Certificate (Original/Provisional) and (b) Consolidated Mark Sheet of
the Qualifying Degree, for direct uploading in to the Online Application Form.
If you are not in a position to upload scanned copy
of your qualifying degree pass certificate due to reasons beyond your control,
if called for Written Test and/or Interview, you will be allowed to personally
submit the same in the concerned Department on the day of Written Test and/or
Interview.
vi) if applicable, Original Score Card relating to
your GATE.*
(vii) if applicable, attested copy of Certificates
relating to your professional experience
etc..
(viii) Demand Draft : Demand Draft is NOT REQUIRED
now. It will be required for a candidate only and only if he/she is called to
appear in Written Test and/or Interview.
In other words, if a candidate is shortlisted and
called to appear in Written Test and/or Interview, only then he/she will be
required to arrange a Demand Draft for Rs.150/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ST/PD
candidates), from any nationalized bank, in favour of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI, payable at Guwahati.
Starting of online application process ► from 10.00 a.m. of 20 March 2015 onwards.
