NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND PANCHAYATI RAJ Hyderabad Admission Notification for 10th Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM) August 2015 – July 2016

The PGDRDM design rests on the tripod of (i) Rural Development Philosophy, Concepts, Principles, Policies, Programmes and Organisations (ii) Rural Development Management Practices, and (iii) Rural Social Sector. The Programme consists of three major components, namely, (a) Classroom teaching and interactive learning (b) Fieldwork (short visits and long visit) and (c) Field Attachment (Rural Organisational Internship). The first Component envisages exposure to attitudes, skills and knowledge relevant to the rural society, rural development philosophy and concepts, and rural development management theories and practices. The second one primarily revolves around understanding the rural society, its people, dynamics of interaction, institutions, relationships and livelihoods by way of intensive fieldwork. The last Component seeks to equip the students with skills of managing organisations/enterprises through organisational internship for 'hands on learning and applications'.

Eligibility:
The minimum qualification for admission to the programme is Graduation in any discipline from any recognised University.

Selection – (Foreign candidates)
The international candidates should apply through the secretariats of the respective international organisations viz., AARDO, CIRDAP etc. Organisational sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. They may however, send an advance application. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the website of NIRD.

Selection of Candidates
All eligible candidates should appear for the Entrance Test (off-line paper-pencil test) that will comprise: English Comprehension and Essay writing, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Skills. The Entrance Test will be of about two and half hours duration. The number of questions may range between 90 and 120.

The Entrance Test will be conducted on 24.05.2015 at the following Centres: Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dimapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Pune and Thiruvanantapuram. However, the NIRDPR reserves the right to cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.

Candidates selected on the basis of the Entrance Test will be invited for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in some major cities or at NIRD, Hyderabad. No TA / DA will be paid for any candidate attending the test or group discussion and personal interview. The Indian in-service candidates are required to apply through their employers. They may however, send an advance application.

How to Apply?
 Application form to be filled through online from our website (www.nird.org.in/pgdrdm) . The applications sent by post will also be accepted through downloadable form available in their website. The filled in online (Hard copy) /downloaded application form should be submitted along with the Application Fee of  Rs.`200 (Rs.``100/- for SC/ST and PWD candidates) through an Account Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIRD- PGDRDM, payable at Hyderabad.
The selection process of candidates will be based on (a) Written Test (b) Group Discussion and (c) Personal Interview

Application Fee for Indian Candidates: Rs.`200/- for Open / OBC category and Rs.`100 for SC/ST/PWD category payable by demand draft.
* The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘NIRD - PGDRDM’ payable at Hyderabad. Please write your Name, Mobile number and Address at the backside of the Demand Draft.

Application fee is non-refundable. DD should be drawn in favor of NIRD-PGDRDM, payable at Hyderabad

Filled in applications (Hard copy) should reach The Coordinator (Admissions), Centre for Post Graduate Studies (CPGS), National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 500 030 before the stipulated date 09.05.2015 (15.05.2015 for candidates from North – Eastern and Jammu & Kashmir).
