DAAD research scholarships
The
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers various scholarships and
funding schemes for Indian and German students, academics and scientists. It
has announced research
grants
for doctoral candidates, young academics and scientists and law graduates.
Ph.D
Scholarships: Scholars with a Master's degree in any subject can apply for full
Ph.D. scholarships at any university and research
institute
in Germany. Eligibility: Highly qualified postgraduates from any discipline
can apply. There should be no more than a six-year gap between the award of
last degreeand application deadline. Candidates must
have
a recent dated acceptance letter from a German Professor. Duration of the
scholarship is three years.
Sandwich
Model Scholarships: Scholars registered for their Ph.D. at an Indian university or
research institute may carry out the research for their Ph.D. thesis in
Germany under the joint supervision of Indian and German professors. A Ph.D.
degree will be awarded by the Indian university or institution. Eligibility:
Scholars registered for Ph.D. (any discipline) at universities or research
institutes in India can apply. Ph.D. registration in India must not be older
than three years. Candidates must have a recent-dated acceptance letter from a
Ger-
man
Professor. Duration of the scholarship is one year.
Scholarship
for law
Jawaharlal
Nehru Award for International Under-standing-Dr. Angela Merkel Scholarship;
Master's Scholarship for European Law provides scholarship to do a Master's
degree (LLM) in European Law at one of the
selected
German universities. The target group is highly qualified graduates with a
first university degree in law (Bachelor or equivalent) with or without professional
experience.
