Apply online for the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and
Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) to be held on December 8 through www.ncbs.res.in/admis-sions2014.html. The
test, coordinated by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, is a
qualifying criterion for doing research in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life
Sciences leading to a Ph.D. in various research institutions — the Indian
Institutes of Science Education and Research; Centre for Cellular and
Molecular Biology, Hyderabad; Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics)
Hyderabad; National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore; National Centre
for Cell Sciences, Pune; and National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi.
Admission to M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc. by Research and M.Sc. Wildlife Biology and
Conservation programmes are made through this test. Application fee is Rs.

School of Distance Education of the English and Foreign Languages (EFL)
University, Hyderabad, has invited applications for admission to MA English;
Postgraduate Certificate Course in Teaching of English; and Postgraduate

• Apply
for Central sector scholarships for undergraduate studies offered through the
Collegiate Education Directorate. Meritorious students from low-income
families get the scholarships. Kerala gets 2,324 of them. Applicants should
have scored minimum 80 per cent marks in the Plus Two examinations held in
March 2013 and should be pursuing any regular undergraduate degree course,
including medical or engineering programmes. Apply online on www.dces-cholarship.kerala.gov.in latest by 6
p.m. on September 30.
Selected undergraduate students will get a scholarship of Rs. 1,000 a month
