B.Tech CET 2014

Applications have been invited by Regional Institute of Science & Technology, Meghalaya for ERDF Common Entrance Test (CET) to be  conducted by ERD Foundation, Guwahati at different Test centers of North Eastern Region leading to the admission for following Engg. Courses of Year 2014:

1. B.Tech. Computer Sc. & Engineering (CSE)

2. B.Tech. Information Technology (IT)

3. B.Tech. Electronics & Commun. Engineering (ECE)

4. B.Tech. Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

5. B.Tech. Civil Engineering (CE)

6. B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (ME)

Eligibility:

HS (10+2) Science or equivalent examination with  Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology  having passed in each of the subjects with 45% marks in the above subjects taken together(40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/ Minority)

Criteria for Selection:

B.Tech Programme :

(i) Rank in ERDF CET OR

(ii) Vaild AIEEE Score (upto 15% of total Intake) OR

(iii) Nomination by the concerned Directorate of Technical & Higher Education

Lateral Entry :

Candidates who have passed the final Diploma examination in a branch of study (as per AICTE guideline) conducted by any State Board of Technical Education in respective branch of Engineering / Technology (after 10th or 10+2). Securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate will be eligible for admission into the 3rd semester of B.Tech course. B.Sc. degree holders with  Maths & Physics are also eligible.

The eligible candidates are required to submit the duly filled application forms in Admission Offices. Such candidates need not appear in the entrance test. Their merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained by them in the diploma examination. Those who are appearing for the final year Diploma will be eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will produce the mark Sheet at the time of admission.

Test Centre:

The entrance examination is held in 15 different locations of North-East. They are:

Assam: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Nagoan, Barpeta, Bongaigoan, Dhubri, Silchar

Meghalaya: Shillong,Tura

Nagaland: Dimapur

Manipur: Imphal

Mizoram: Aizwal

Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar

The 2nd Phase entrance examination will be held  in 7 different locations of North-East. They are:

Meghalaya: Ri Bhoi: RIST, Campus; Shillong: To be notified shortly

Nagaland:   Dimapur: Sachdeva PT College

Manipur:     To be notified shortly

Mizoram:    To be notified shortly

Tripura:     To be notified shortly

Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar: King Cup Public School

How to apply:

The Prospectus & Registration form can be obtained from RIST campus office / City Office at Dispur or Axis Bank branches located at district HQ in North East  & selected Distribution Centres on payment of Rs. 500/-. The application form can also be downloaded from the website and submitted along with a demand draft of Rs. 500/- made in favour of “Regional Institute of Science & Technology” payable at “Guwahati”.
