MS.c in Physics Admission Notice 2014-2015
Department of Physics, RKM Vivekananda University,
Howrah, Kolkata has invited applications for Admission to MSc Programme in
Physics of Year 2014.
Eligibility:
Students who will be completing B.Sc. (Hons.) in
Physics during the current year with at least 55% marks in the Hons. Subject
(taking into consideration the marks obtained in the examinations conducted so
far) from any university approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) will be
eligible to apply. They will be required to submit their final marksheet and
B.Sc. Hons certificate while taking admission. SC/ST candidates will enjoy 5%
concession in the minimum eligibility of marks.
Entrance
Examination:
The entrance examination will be held on 8 March 2014
(Saturday) from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the
Main Campus of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University at Belur Math, Howrah
711202. Candidates will be examined in the following topics in
Physics: classical, quantum and statistical mechanics, mathematical methods and
Electrodynamics. Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will
be called for an interview. Final selection will be based on the performance in
the written test and interview.

Application forms can be collected from the RKM Vivekananda
University office at Belur Math, Howrah 711202 in person till 22 February 2014
during the office hours (from 10 am to 5 pm).

Submission
of Application Forms:
Application forms completed in all respects should
be submitted either by post or in person at the RKM Vivekananda University,
Belur Math, Howrah 711202 together with a fee of Rs 300/- by demand draft in
favour of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University on or before 28 February 2014.
