ELIGIBILITY
M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com or Professional Courses like
Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Law, MBA etc.(equivalent to Master’s degree
of University of Calcutta) with 55% marks in aggregate from Calcutta University
or with 60% marks from any other recognised university. SC/ST candidates are
eligible to apply with 50% marks in aggregate. Reservation for SC/ ST/ PH
candidates will be applicable as per university rules. The number of students
admitted in a year will not exceed twenty. Applicants having cleared NET, SET,
or any other national level eligibility test, will not have to sit for entrance
test. All other eligible candidates, except those who have cleared NET, SET, or
any other national level eligibility test, will have to sit for an entrance test.
Model questions for entrance test are available on our website. Only the
short-listed candidates will be called for interview. Final selection will be
based on the candidate’s performance in the interview.
COURSE FEE
The fee for the entire programme is Rs. 4000, which
is to be paid at the time of admission.
FELLOWSHIP
Students may be entitled to UGC fellowships as per
rules of the University of Calcutta, subject to the availability of funds.
Otherwise, a few students will be given fellowships from the seventh month of
the
programme for a maximum period of one year by IDSK
strictly on the basis of their performance in the first part of the coursework.
HOW TO APPLY
Application form and prospectus may be obtained
from IDSK office on payment of Rs. 250. Requests by mail must accompany a DD of
Rs.250. Forms can also be downloaded from IDSK website (www.idsk.edu.in) . In case of downloaded
form, a DD of Rs. 250 in favour of Institute of Development Studies Kolkata and
payable at Kolkata must be submitted along with the application. The filled-in
application form along with attested copies of marksheets and certificates /
documents must reach IDSK on or before July 7 2014.
