M.P.Ed Admission Notice 2014-2015
Applications are invited by MG University, Kottayam
,Kerala for admission to the Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) two years
Programme at the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for the
academic year 2014-15.
Eligibility
for Admission:
a) Candidates should have passed the Bachelor of
Physical Education (BPE/B.P.Ed.) Course of any University recognized by Mahatma
Gandhi University or should possess a post graduate Diploma (D.PEd) in Physical
Education of at least one year duration of an Indian or Foreign
University/Board appointed by the Education Department of the State or Union
Territory recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University with a minimum of 50%
marks in aggregate.
b) Candidates should be below the age of 25 years
as on 1st July 2014. SC/ST candidates shall be given eligible relaxation. A
relaxation of 5 years in age will be given to candidates who are working as
Physical Education Teachers in Govt. /Aided institutions and for outstanding
Sports Persons who have secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in
National/International competitions.
c) Candidates should be physically fit for daily
heavy load of physical activities and should not have any physical deformity or
mental disability
Selection
Criteria:
The candidates shall be selected for admission from
the rank list prepared on the basis of the following criteria.
a) Written test (Based on B.P.E/ B.P.Ed. syllabus)
50 marks
b) Game proficiency & Achievements 25 marks
c) Sports achievements 10 marks
d) Physical fitness test (AAHPERD) 15 marks
Total: 100 marks
General reservation rules applicable for admission
to post graduate degree programme at the regular University Departments shall
be followed while admitting candidates from the rank list.
Eligible candidates will be called for a Written
Test and Physical Fitness Test. The candidates should bring duly certified
Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format on the day of the Entrance Test.

Date & Time of Physical Fitness Test : 05th
July 2014, 10 am to 1 pm, School of Physical Education & Sports Sciences,

Time of Game Proficiency Test : 3 pm to 5 pm,
School of Physical Education & Sports Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University

GENERAL
INSTRUCTIONS
Application form and specimen format for Medical
Certificate (Fitness Certificate) can be downloaded from the Website
www.mgu.ac.in.
Last date of receipt of filled up application form along with
Registration fee is 18th June 2014.
The Registration fee is Rs.500/-for General
Candidates & Rs 250/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates should remit the
REGISTRATION FEE either at the University CASH COUNTER or FRIENDS JANASEVANA KENDRAM
or by way of DD drawn in favour of the FINANCE OFFICER, MAHATMA GANDHI
UNIVERSITY PAYABLE AT SBT, MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY CAMPUS BRANCH (code
No.669) P.D. Hills P.O., Kottayam. Full postal address of the applicant with
pin code is to be entered on the reverse side of the DD in block letters.
The applications along with copies of relevant
documents proving age, qualifications and proficiency in sports shall be
forwarded to the Deputy Registrar-I(Acad), Mahatma Gandhi University,
Priyadarsini Hills P.O., Kottayam-686560.
