MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(i) ME/MTech degree or equivalent in an appropriate area with minimum CPI of 6.5 (60% marks) OR

(ii) BE/B.Tech with an excellent academic record and with CPI of at least 8(70% marks) for admission in Engineering Deptts OR

iii) MSc in appropriate area with minimum CPI 8(70% marks) for admission in Engg Deptts.

(iv) MSc in Science with relevant discipline with first class or a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent for admission in Science Deptts.

(v) MA with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent for admission in Humanities and Social Science Deptt.

(vi) A relaxation of 5% or 0.5 in CGPA/CPI on a 10 point scale may be extended to the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

Reservation as per Govt. of India norms.

GRADUATE ENGINEERS COURSE (THERMAL) (2009-2010)


(Fulfilling the mandatory requirements of Indian Electricity Rules, 1956, Amended in 1981)


WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN? The main aim of the course is to development a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector, besides, the course shall improve and enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineers sponsored by the State Electricity Board, Power Utilities (Independent, Captive Power Plants) etc.

ABOUT THE COURSE: This is a modular type course of one-year duration. Formal coaching is held at NPTI (SR) located at Neyveli (Tamil Nadu). On-job training is conducted at the nearby. Thermal Power Station and the training on high tech simulator at NPTI, Delhi/Nagpur. The course profile covers the mandatory requirement under Indian Electricity Amendment Rules 1981, which stipulates “No person shall be authorized to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station capacity of 100 MW and above together with the associated substation unless he/she is adequately qualified and has undergone the specialised training at a recognized Institute”. The participants who have successfully completed this course at this Institute are entitled to obtain the Power Generating Station O&M Competency Certificate from State Electrical Licensing Boards.

ELIGIBILITY: B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical & Electronics/Instrumentation Engg.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Based on Merit (% of marks)

AGE LIMIT: For non-sponsored candidates the age limit is 30 years as on 31st December 2008. No age limit for the sponsored candidates.

TOTAL SEATS: 50 (Fifty). 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Graduation. However, if any of the seats fall vacant in any of the category that shall be allocated to eligible candidates of other category. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. of India norms. NPTI reserves the right to increase or decrease the total seats.

PLACEMENT: To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI shall maintain close linkages with power utilities and reputed companies for employment of these trained engineers. Most of the students of previous batches were placed decently in reputed Power sector companies. NPTI will not make any eforts for placements of SPONSORED Candidates.

Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses
in Homoeopathy (M D Homoeo), Kerala: 2008- 2009



NOTIFICATION

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to M D Homoeopathy Courses for the year 2008-2009 in the Government Homoeopathic Medical Colleges, at Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

2. Eligibility for Admission:
(i) Nationality : Applicant should be an Indian Citizen.
(ii) Academic Qualifications : BHMS Degree (Direct/Graded) or its equivalent, declared thereto, by the Central Council of Homoeopathy. Candidates who complete the prescribed internship training on or before 31.10.2008 are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination subject to the condition that they should produce the Medical Council Registration Certificate at the time of admission. Candidates who have passed the final year examination with more than three chances are not eligible for admission.
(iii) Age: The candidates otherwise eligible for admission should not be more than 45 years as on 01.01.2009 subject to relaxation of a maximum of five years in the case of SC/ST Candidates and Teachers of Homoeopathic Medical Colleges/Research Officers of Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy.

3. Selections and Entrance Examination: Selection of Candidates except for the seats reserved under Rural Service Quota and for Teachers working in the Private as well as Government Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in Kerala will be made on the basis of the rank in an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) at Thiruvananthapuram on 10.01.2009 (Saturday). It will consist of two papers, each of two hours duration and each Paper having 150 Objective type (Multiple Choice) questions.

4. Application forms: The Application form is common for all candidates. The Prospectus and application form can be downloaded from the Website at www.cee-kerala.org from 25.11.2008 onwards. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or from the Government Homoeopathic Medical Colleges.

5. How to apply: Those candidates, whose selection is based on the Entrance Examination should forward their filled up applications along with supporting documents and a Demand Draft of Rs. 800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only) for General candidates / Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four Hundred only) for SC/ST candidates, drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – 695 001, either by Registered post or hand delivery so as to reach him before the last date prescribed for the receipt of application form.

Candidates applying against the seats reserved under Rural Service Quota and for Teachers Quota in Government and Private Homoeopathic Medical Colleges should send their applications routed through their Heads of Departments/Institutions with necessary NOC furnished in the application form and the application fee of Rs. 800/- by way of Demand Draft (drawn from any Nationalized Bank, in favour of the Principal and Controlling Officer, Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, payable at Thiruvananthapuram) to the Director of Homoeopathy, East Fort, Thiruvananthapuram -695 023 [ in case of Rural Service Quota ] or to the Principal and Controlling Officer, Government Homoeopathic Medical college, Iranimuttom, Thiruvananthapuram, Pin-695 009, [in case of Teacher’s Quota] on or before the last date of receipt of application. Fee once remitted will not be refunded on any account.

6. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: All Candidates including those applying against seats reserved for Teachers/Rural Service Quota should forward their completed application to the respective authorities so as to reach them before 20.12.2008 (Saturday). Late applications including those brought after 5 PM on 20.12.2008 will not be accepted. The CEE or the other officers will not be responsible for any postal delay.

7. Belated, incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the respective format given in the Application form. The certificates, which are not in the format specified in the application form, will not be considered under any circumstances.

8. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish a Rank list of candidates based on merit as assessed at the Entrance Examination and forward the same to Chairman and Convenor of the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will make the allotments and forward the Select list to the Colleges concerned for making admission.

9. Candidates may go through details given in the Prospectus for admission to the Post Graduate Homoeopathy Courses: 2008-09, approved by the Government of Kerala and published by the Principal and Controlling Officer, Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Iranimuttom, Thiruvananthapuram, before filling the application form.

After launching its first programme in session 2006, IPMG now announces the admission process for the intake of its 4th Batch (Session 2009) for the Two Year Residential MBA (Focused on Oil & Gas Sector). Candidates, appearing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs on 16th November, 2008 are only eligible to apply. The minimum academic eligibility criterion for admission to MBA (Focused Oil & Gas Sector) is a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification examination can also apply. Admissions shall be offered as per merit consisting of CAT Score and GD/PI score. The admission process is subject to the approval of the State Government. Candidates having relevant industry experience in areas of Fashion / Textile / Communication Design would be preferred.

*If a candidate possessing Graduation Degree in any discipline applies for the course, then he / she has to compulsory undergo 2 months (i.e. 8 weeks) training programme to develop the desired skills before taking on the course itself.

Eligibility for Master Programme - Management
M.F.M. (Master of Fashion Management)


A three years Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Accessory / Fashion Design / FIT from NIFT only.

For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, proper certification by a National Body constituted in the country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MASTER PROGRAMME - TECHNOLOGY
M.FTech. (Master of Fashion Technology)


B.E. / B.Tech. (Textiles / Apparel / Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Electronics / Computer / Information Technology)

IMPORTANT NOTE
Candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply. Their admission, however, will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility. Proof of the candidates having successfully passed the qualifying examination will have to be produced at the time of joining the programme. In case, candidates do not produce the required documents by 30th June, 2009, their admission will be cancelled and 50% of the tuition fee will be refunded.
Non fulfillment of the above conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

ADMISSION TEST
All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programmed opted.

The objective type tests are subject to negative marking. The negative marking will apply at the rate of 0.25 for each wrong answer.

The written entrance examination will be conducted on 8th February, 2009 at the cities mentioned in the table (refer NIFT website).
The candidate has to select only ONE city for the examination. The candidate should write the two-digit Exam Centre Code on the OMR(Optical Marker Reader) Application Form at item no. 15, and shade the corresponding oval below each digit.

Candidature are cautioned to fill this code and shade correctly as the allotment of the required Examination Centre will be based on this information only.

Please note that NIFT reserves the right to cancel any of the Examination Centres mentioned. In such case , alternate centre which is administratively convenient will be allotted.

IMPORTANT:
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination for which they are admitted by NIFT viz. Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be) will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be), It is fond that candidate does not fulfill any eligibility criteria, his / her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference.

The Admission Procedure
1. For both MBA and MHRM courses , the candidates have to appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the All India Management Association to be held on 7th December 2008 or 1st February 2009. The MAT bulletin with form may be obtained by sending a DD for Rs 790/- drawn in favour of AIMA- CMS payable in New Delhi addressed to The Manager, All India Management Association, 14 Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria
Graduates in any discipline with 50% minimum marks from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities are eligible. Candidates in their final year of graduation may also apply.

Having Work Experience is not a requirement for admission to the program, however candidates with work experience are welcome.

Entrance Test Score Submission
ITM uses standardized management entrance test scores as a part of its overall selection process. Candidates are not selected/disqualified on the basis of their test scores only. The test score is just one part of an overall candiate profile.

The following test scores are accepted:

• XAT (Xavier's Management Test)
• GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)

Submit an attested copy of your Test Score Card along with the application form. If you have not received your test score, give details of Test Registration Number, Test Centre Code, etc.

Note: ITM uses the CAT score for short-listing candidates called for Group Discussions/ Personal Interview. IIM's have no role in selection or in conducting the program.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
ITM Business School awards a limited number of scholarships/assistantships for exceptional students who are financially challenged. These range from a tuition fee waiver of 25% to 100%, often in exchange for on-campus employment as research assistants, administrative assistants, event managers etc.

Candidates seeking a Scholarship award must submit their applications before December 31, 2008.The Admissions Committee awards scholarships at its sole discretion, selecting candidates based on the criteria mentioned below (see Selection Process). Additional weightage is often, but not always given to candidates with 2+ years work experience, previous Masters level education (non-Business), and financial condition of the candidate and his family.

Candidates seeking admission to ITM Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) need to fill up separate application forms for CAT & ITM.

The admission form should be duly filled out in its entirety and must be accompanied with the following supporting documents:

Selection Process
The Admissions Committee for the PGDM program consists of the Chairman of Admissions, The Chairman of ITM Trust and the individual Directors of each ITM PGDM Campus.

Please note: No Capitation or donations are accepted for the PGBM (or any ITM program) under any circumstances. There are no seat quotas for ethnic minorities and no payment category. Selection to the ITM PGDM program is based exclusively on the candidates merit and the discretion of the Admissions Committee.

Selection into the ITM PGDM program at all Campuses is conducted centrally through ITM Navi Mumbai.

Group Discussion/Personal Interview:
Several Group Discussion & Personal Interview sessions will be conducted starting in February 2009. For selected candidates, the intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail.

The selection criteria for calling candidates for Group Discussion & Personal Interviews and final admissions is based on multiple factors as follows:

Past academic performance
Quality & content of the answers in the application form
Work experience, if any, in terms of job content & organization
Group Discussion & Interview performance
Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments
CAT/XAT/GMAT score
A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be called for interview/group discussion and offered final admission. CAT/XAT/GMAT score is NOT the only criteria for selection in ITM.

A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.

Eligibility: A recognized Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Candidates appearing in the final examinatin of Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply subject to the completion of degree requirements with minimum 50% marks.

SELECTION: Selection to the programmes is based on CAT 2008 perfomance, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Dr. (Smt) Sarala Birla Merit Scholarship- Eight Scholarships for Rs. 50,000 each for second year students (two students from each PG Programme)
Criteria for Scholarships
A committee of faculty decides about the student to be given the scholarship on the basis of overall performance of the candidate including academics, extra curricular and events during two years of studies in institute.
