The course extends from 2nd April, 2012 to 11th May, 2012.

Applicant should be Second Class graduate from a recognized University, preferably in Science subject and below 30 years for private candidates and below 50 years for sponsored candidates.

Qualification & age limit is relaxable in case of private candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability (PH) category as per Govt. orders.
Seats are reserved for private candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability (PH) category as per Government orders.

Applications have been invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to LL.M Course - 2011-12 in the Government Law Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode.

Eligibility for Admission

(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala Origin.
(ii) Academic qualifications: Candidates who have passed the L.L.B. examination (5 year / 3 year course) with a minimum of 50% marks from the Universities in Kerala or other Universities recognized by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission. Candidates appearing / appeared for the regular Final year LL.B. examination can also apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Provisional Degree / Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of allotment of seats.
(iii) Age: There is no upper age limit for admission to LL.M Course.

Entrance Examination: The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, on 15.01.2012 (Sunday). The Questions of the Entrance Examination will be of objective type. There shall be two papers each of 90 minutes duration, from 9.30 am to 11.00 am and 11.30 am to 1.00 pm. Each paper will have 100 questions. The questions shall be of the standard of LL.B Examination.

Application forms: Application forms and Prospectus can be downloaded from the official website of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee-kerala.org . Keralites residing inside Kerala State, can remit the application fee (Rs.800/- Rupees Eight Hundred only) in any branch of the State bank of Travancore using the Chalan provided on page No.5 of the application form. The original Chalan contained in page No.5 shall be attached with the application form duly signed and authorized by Bank authorities on remittance of application fees. Keralites residing outside Kerala State, can remit the application fee by attaching a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Completed applications with all the documents should be forwarded to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001 either by Registered Post or by hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 30.12.2011.

After submission of the application, candidates will not be allowed to include any information in the application form or submit any certificate claiming reservation or other benefits under any circumstances.

Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever necessary. The certificates that are attached separately in the application form will not be considered. Admit cards can be downloaded from the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in from 09.01.2012.

The centralized allotment of seats will be notified after the publication of the results of the entrance examination. Individual intimation will not be sent to candidates in this regard. All certificates in support of various claims preferred in the application form will have to be submitted at the time of allotment. No extension of time will be granted for this.

The Entrance Examination and subsequent allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the prospectus, approved by Government. Candidates are directed to go through the various provisions in the Prospectus available in the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at www.cee-kerala.org before submitting their applications.

The candidate who is still undergoing one-year compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete it by 31st March, 2012, will be permitted to appear at the AIPGMET - 2012. His / Her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April, 2012.

He/she will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal/Dean of the College regarding the anticipated date of completion of internship along with the application, failing which, his / her application shall be rejected.

The course is aimed at developing world-class Business Managers with a thorough understanding of Power Sector.

Applicants should hold B.E/ B Tech/ BSc (Engineering) or equivalent qualification with 60% aggregate marks in all semesters or equivalent CGPA in case of applicants of the General category and minimum pass marks in case of SC/ST applicants. Those in the final year/semester can also apply provisionally.

Only those candidates having a minimum of 50 percentile score for CAT 2011 are eligible to apply.

Candidates desirous of joining the program have to necessarily appear for the CAT-2011 exam (for non-sponsored category) being conducted by IIMs. Selection will be based on CAT Score followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) at NPTI, Faridabad. SEBs, Utilities and Private Sector Organizations may also sponsor candidates. Sponsored candidates need not appear for CAT examination.

In respect of Sponsored candidates, Merit list will be prepared by considering 60% of the total marks in BE/B.Tech/Equivalent, a maximum of 20 marks for GD, a maximum of 10 marks for Personal Interview and a maximum of 10 marks for experience. A sponsored candidate with experience of 10 years or more will get 10 marks, those with experience above 8 years but below 10 years will get 8 marks, those with experience above 5 years but below 8 years, will get 6 marks and those with experience below 5 years, will get 3 marks.

Counseling will be conducted at NPTI, Faridabad on 1.5.2012.

The course commences on 1.8.2012.


The total intake is 120 of which 53 seats are under the General Category, 16 reserved for SC, 8 for ST and 28 for OBC. There are 15 seats under the sponsored category.

DBT-BINC 2012 examination

JNU New Delhi, on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, will conduct the BINC examination on February 25-26, 2012. The objective of this examination is to certify bioinformatics professionals, trained formally as well as self-trained. Registration is open from 14-11-2011 to 03-02-2012. JNU New Delhi has been identified as a nodal agency by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India to coordinate this examination along with nine centres namely, Pune University, Pune; Anna University, Chennai; Calcatta University (WBUT) Kolkata; Institute of Bioinformatics & Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore; North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad; University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram; Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a new centre Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati. In the BINC 2011 examination, 722 candidates appeared out of which 35 candidates were certified. This year DBT has agreed to fund Research fellowships for all the BINC qualified Indian nationals to pursue Ph.D. in Indian Institutes/Universities. Note that the candidate must possess a postgraduate degree(or equivalent) & meet the criteria of the institutes/universities in order to avail research fellowship. Objective:
Jawaharlal Nehru University , on behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, will conduct the BioInformatics National Certification (BINC) examination. The objective of this examination is to identify bioinformatics professionals. This will help potential employers in recruitment of candidates having exceptionally good Bioinformatics skills.

Eligibility:
Graduates in any science, agriculture, veterinary, medicine, pharmacy, engineering and technology are eligible to appear for the examination. They need not have any formal training, diploma or certificate in bioinformatics.

Application and Syllabus:
The online application can be filled from 14 November 2011 to 3rd. February 2012. Syllabus approved by National advisory committee is available online. It consists of five sections:
Bioinformatics , biology, physical & chemical sciences, Mathematics& statistics and IT .

Examination:
The examination fee is Rs. 600/- for candidates from Open category and Rs. 450/- for reserved category candidates (as per government of India rule). The examination is scheduled on 25-26th February 2012. The paper I will be of objective type. The paper II will be of short answer type, while the paper III will be a computer-based practical. Research fellowships for all the successful candidates those who are interested & qualified in pursuing Ph.D in India will be awarded . In addition 10 cash prizes for top ten successful candidates will be awarded.

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) is an examination organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch./B. Planning courses in various national level institutes like NITs, IITs, Deemed Universities, Private, Government Funded institutions in India. It’s a national level entrance examination that was incepted in the year 2002 only. It enables students to get admission in some of the best colleges offering undergraduate degree programs in architecture and engineering courses. Colleges like 16 of the IITs and NITs accept scores of AIEEE Exam.

AIEEE Exam is conducted generally in the month of April for admission into top engineering colleges in India and the basic eligibility is a pass in 12th class. The examination is conducted on the last Sunday of April and thus those who are aspiring for AIEEE 2012 would be appearing on the same day for exam. The results would be announced around the first week of the month of June 2012 for these candidates. They would be ranked on the state as well as all- India basis and ranks would be given to them accordingly.

Students who want to take bachelor’s of engineering or technology have to appear only for paper one. However, the architecture and planning students have to appear for paper 2. Once the scores are out for AIEEE Exam, the counseling is done by the Central Counseling Board.

The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2012 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (see Appendix – IX). Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2012 may also appear in AIEEE 2012 provisionally.

However, admission criteria in the concerned institution/university will be followed as prescribed by concerned university/institution and as per the guidelines & criteria prescribed by AICTE.

Eligibility requirements to appear for BLDEU-PGET-2012 and admission to the Medical Post Graduate Diploma and Degree Courses are:-

1. The candidates seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS from the college recognized by Medical Council of India.
2. As specified by Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate courses shall be:
a) General category 50 percent
b) SC/ ST & OBC (OBC as declared by Government of Karnataka from time to time) Category 40 percent
c) Candidates with 40 to 70% locomotor disability of lower limbs (as certified by competent issuing authority) category 45 percent.
3. The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship / would be completing by 30th April 2012.
4. Foreign / PIO / NRI students are exempted from BLDEU-PGET-2012. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.

The MCI norms to qualify for PGET & Admissions:
Candidates seeking admission to these Post Graduate Degree courses should have passed M.B.B.S. recognised by Medical Council of India or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent Registration from the Medical Council of India or any of the State/ Medical council or candidate should register the same within one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

The eligible candidates will be called for attending online test and interview in the University Campus. Based on the marks scored by the candidate in UG degree (50%), online test (25%) and interview (25%), the PG admission will be provisionally made.
