1. Before applying online, candidate should carefully  read admission brochure for eligibility conditions and other important instructions, which is available in University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in
2. Before applying online, candidate should deposit requisite fee in the University account (A/c No. 1601 2011 000 338) through any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce by using specified Bank Challan Form, which is available at last page of this brochure, after depositing a fee in the University account, bank issues a Transaction ID, which is required to be entered in the online Application form. Fee shall not be accepted in any other mode other than online deposition.  
3. Merely deposition of online fee will not entitle the candidate for Admission. The required online Application form should also be filled by the stipulated date and time, failing which no claim of the candidate 
will be considered. Fee once deposited will not be refunded/adjusted in any case. 
4. After depositing the fee, the candidate must fill online admission form available on the web site http://bfuhs.ac.in by clicking at the link "Admission to B.Sc (OT,MRIT,DT,ASLP,OAPT,OTA,AT,ER), PGDHSL and MSSLP.  

5. The last date for applying online is 30th July, 2012 upto 5:00 pm. 

6. After filling the online admission form, get the printout (2 copies) of the admission application form. One copy of the admission form should be send by Post to  "The Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health 
Sciences, Sadiq Road, Faridkot" after completing other formalities (Affixing Recent Attested photograph, putting thumb impression and signatures at appropriate space), along with self attested photo copies of Matriculation, 10+1,10+2 Detailed marks card for undergraduate courses and other qualifying Detailed Marks cards for Post Graduate courses and also Bank challan form (University copy) after depositing 
fee in University account should be reached upto 14th  August, 2012

9. The Admission Application Form shall be rejected if: 
a) It is not received by the due date & time by post or personally in the office of the Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Sadiq Road, Faridkot. All those candidates who submit their Admission Application Form in the University Office shall get a receipt for the same. 
b) the entries are incomplete.

The cost of application form is Rs.300/- for others and in respect of SCA/SC/ST candidates, the application form will be issued free of cost on production of attested Xerox copy of the Community Certificate. 35 x 26 duly affixing stamp to the value of Rs.50/- along with a Demand Draft for the prescribed amount with a requisition letter.

Applications have been invited from the Citizens of India who are native of Tamil Nadu for admission to MBBS/BDS Degree course for 2012-13 session in Government / Self-Financing Medical / Dental Institutions under the purview of Single Window system in the state of Tamil Nadu.

ELIGIBILITY : 
1) Candidate should be a citizen of India.
2) Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu. Except the candidates who have studied in schools in the State of Tamil Nadu from 8th Standard to Plus Two, the others should produce the Nativity Certificate in the format prescribed in Annexure I from the competent authority. The candidates who are the children of parents of Tamil Nadu origin; but living in other states should also produce the Nativity certificate as mentioned above.
3) Should have completed the age of Seventeen years on or before 31st December 2012. Evidence should be produced.
4) Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board /any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks.
(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or)
(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subjects
5) Minimum Eligibility Marks : MBBS
(i) OTHER COMMUNITIES : 
(a) A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
(b) A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
(c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 140 out of 200 marks.
(ii) BACKWARD CLASS AND BACKWARD CLASS MUSLIM : 
(a) A minimum of 60% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
(b) A minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
(c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 130 out of 200 marks.
(iii) MOST BACKWARD CLASSES AND DENOTIFIED COMMUNITIES : 
(a) A minimum of 55% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
(b) A minimum of 55% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
(c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in ( b) should not be less than 120 out of 200 marks.
(iv) SCHEDULED CASTES, SCHEDULED CASTE ARUNTHATHIYAR ,SCHEDULED TRIBES : 
(a) A minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together.
(b) A minimum of 40% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
(c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 80 out of 200 marks.
(v) The candidates under Physically challenged Category (Locomotory disability of Lower Limbs alone). OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination

5) Minimum Eligibility Marks : BDS
(i) The candidates ( OC / BC / BCM/ MBC/ DC ) should have obtained not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Botany and Zoology taken together at the qualifying examination.
(ii) Scheduled Caste, Scheduled caste Arunthathiyar and Scheduled Tribe, the aggregate marks required for admission shall be 40%.
(iii) The candidates under physically challenged category (OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC) should have obtained not less than 45% of the aggregate marks in the above prescribed subjects at the qualifying examination.

METHOD OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION :
Ranking will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed science subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different boards will be taken into account after normalization.

and the filled application along with necessary enclosures and 3 self addressed envelopes measuring 23 x 10 cms and sent in a large sized cover measuring 38cm X 28cm superscribed ‘APPLICATION FOR MBBS / BDS COURSE 2012 - 2013 SESSION’ to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai -10 on or before 02-06-2012by 5.00 pm, along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 500 /- towards the cost of application form drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee and payable at Chennai. The name of the candidate and the name of the course (MBBS/ BDS )should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
Candidates seeking admission under Special Category for both MBBS and BDS courses (Children of Freedom Fighters, Physically disabled, & Children of Ex-Servicemen - except Sports Quota) shall submit the separate Special Category Form I along with the main application in the prescribed format available along with the Prospectus with an additional fee of Rs.100 /- by way of a Demand Draft for each special category enclosing the relevant certificates.
Candidates seeking admissions under Sports Quota are directed to submit their main application as well as the special category form II prescribed for Sports along with the Certificates and the additional fee of 100 /- by way of a Demand Draft only in person on or before 02.06.2012.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE COURSE
The course has inbuilt process of continuous evaluation of students' performance under credit and grading system. Student will be kept informed of their strong and weak points. The class division into theory, tutorial and practical is rationally devised to develop students' creativity. Real teaching hour will be more than the traditional courses due to adherence to semester-academic-calendar. Kerala Private Medical College Management Association has invited applications for Entrance Test for admission to the 35% Management seats for MBBS for 2012 in the Member-Colleges of the Association.

Eligibility: Applicant should be a citizen of India and should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December, 2012. No relaxation in age will be allowed. Applicant must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in Clause(2) Regulation 4 of the  MCI and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of competitive entrance examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the competitive entrance  examination conducted by the Association.

Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, need only 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination. Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted. Those who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the State of Kerala should produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of the qualifying examination from the Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Applicants should possess certificate of good conduct and character issued from the Institution last studied.

Admission Test: Selection to the Programme will be based on the merit in an entrance examination to be held on 31.5.2012 at notified centres. The examination will have two papers, each of 75 minutes duration. Paper I to be held from 9.30 am to 10.45 am, will have 50 questions from Biology while Paper II to be held from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm, will have 50 questions from Chemistry (30 questions) and Physics (20 questions). The examination will be objective type and based on single response. For each question, four answers will be suggested of which only one will be the most appropriate response. The candidate will have to mark the bubble corresponding to the most appropriate answer.

For each correct response, three marks will be awarded. For each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response. The standard of the written Examination will be that of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Application: Application can be submitted only Online at the official website of the Association www.kpmcma.net. If a candidate submits more than one application his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.

Application Fee: Application fee of Rs.200/- can be paid by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of ‘KPMCMA’ and payable at Calicut.

Admit Card: The Admit Cards for entrance examination in respect of applicants who submitted valid application on time can be downloaded from the website www.kpmcma.net from   25th May 2012. The printout of the admit card thus obtained duly filled up signed will have to be produced at the time of examination. Admit Cards will not be sent by post.

The Entrance Examinations and allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus. The details related to the member colleges are available in the prospectus.

Reservation: Reservation of seats to candidates belonging to specified categories and to the community/ group will be as laid down in the relevant column in Annexure I series related to the college concerned. Those applicants eligible for such seats in an institution in terms of the stipulations in Annexure I series of the college concerned have to enter the same in the relevant column of the application and produce certificate/ proof in support of his/her claim as required therein. Those who fail to produce the required certificate/proof along with the application will not get the benefit.

The main objective of the Chair is to develop and promote Education for Sustainable Development in India and capacity building in Sustainability Science.

Programme Objectives: The conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity and the eradication of extreme poverty are two of the main global challenges. It has been recognized by the international community that these two challenges are intimately connected, and require a coordinated response. The sustainable management of biodiversity is one of the most important challenges facing humanity; one that requires the active participation of dedicated professionals who are committed to the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. Our generation has the unenviable task of making hard, possibly irrevocable, decisions on sustainable management of biodiversity at local, regional and international levels. In this context, the aim of this Appreciation programme is to provide a critical and conceptually sophisticated understanding of biodiversity science and the socio-economic, political, cultural and institutional environments within which sustainable management of Biodiversity and policy decisions are made. This programme promote awareness and capacity building for sustainable management of biodiversity for mainstreaming biodiversity into the daily lives of individuals, recreating the relationship between people and nature, securing the linkages between forests, rivers, and the sea and taking actions in a global context.

Desirable Qualifications :
Knowledge in one classical / foreign language such as Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Persian, Arabic, Greek, Latin, German, French, Italian, etc.

NB :
(i) Good academic record with 50% and above marks at Graduate level is essential for admission to MA courses . Those appearing in their last semester/exam of Graduation may also apply for MA courses provided they produce the result of having passed their Graduation with requisite percentage by 31-7-2012.

(ii) Candidates seeking admission to MA courses, will have to take a written test followed by an interview. Written Test will be held in the National Museum Institute, National Museum, Janpath, New Delhi. Attested photocopies of certificates/degrees and a passport size photograph are to be enclosed along with the application form. There is no application fee for MA courses.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 
National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli is a deemed university under the control of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Instrumentation and Control Engineering department was established in the year 1993. This is a DST-FIST sponsored department and is accredited by NBA. The faculty members are involved in the execution of sponsored research projects from major funding agencies such as DST, MHRD, British Council (UKIERI), ISRO, ARDB, etc. The MEMS design centre of the department is supported by two national programs viz, National Program on Smart Material (NPSM) and National Program on Micro and Smart Systems (NPMASS). The quality of the department is seen from the fully equipped laboratories and other facilities which cater to the academic and co-curricular interests of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programme in various specializations of the instrumentation and control engineering field. State of the art facilities promote research in the areas of Smart Materials and Systems, MEMS, Instrumentation, Process Control, Mathematical Control Theory, Embedded Systems, etc. 

THE COURSE AND ITS OBJECTIVES 
Smart materials and systems is an interdisciplinary domain under science and engineering streams. Smart materials and systems sense and respond to their environment in a predictable manner and have applications in areas as diverse as automotive, defense, aerospace, civil, medical, etc. The field of smart materials and systems has made tremendous progress in recent years. It has created waves across the globe and will play a major role in the future evolution of micro and nano system technologies. This FDP aims to provide a forum to create awareness about the latest technologies in smart materials and systems as well as to motivate the faculty members to opt this area for their research. This course is dedicated to technical advances in smart materials, systems and structures, including materials, sensing and actuation, control and information processing.

Objectives of the course 
Overview to smart materials and its characteristics Smart structures and modeling Design of sensors and actuators using smart materials Energy harvesting using piezoelectric materials Vibration control using smart materials Electro rheological fluid and its applications Magneto rheological fluid and its applications 


PEDAGOGY 
The programme consists of lectures, laboratory visit, laboratory demonstrations and includes discussion of case studies. 

RESOURCE PERSONS 
Experts from premier engineering colleges like IISc, IITM, IIITD&M, NITT and, R&D sectors like NPOL and General Motors will be conducting the sessions.
