1. Admission under NRI quota in B.Tech. & B.Arch. Courses

Applications are invited for admissions in NRI quota fixed as per AICTE norms from the NRI, their son/daughter and real brother/sister in Govt. aided Institutions. The children of real brother / sister and son/daughter of NRI who have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) subjects in Intermediate or equivalent examination, may also be considered for admission in Govt. aided institutions, if the seats remain vacant after the admission of NRI, their son / daughter and real brother/ sister. For details of eligibility, please see clause 3.4 of information brochure available on website. The candidate seeking admission for B. Arch. will be subjected to aptitude test especially designed to assess the candidates' aptitude.

2. Admission for Sons/Daughters of Kashmiri Migrants to First Year of B.Tech./ B.Tech.(Ag.Engg.)/ B.Pharma/ BHMCT/ B.Arch./ BFAD

One seat is available in each Technical institution/ Professional institutions in each programme (B.Tech. / B.Pharm. / B.HMCT / B.Arch. / BFAD) affiliated to U.P. Technical University for sons and daughters of Kashmiri Migrants who have secured at least 50% marks in Qualifying Subjects at 10+2 level or equivalent examination as mentioned in table of clause 3.1(i) of Information Brochure, available on website.

HOW TO APPLY:

Eligible candidates may submit their applications on prescribed format for admission against NRI / Kashmiri Migrant quota to the Registrar, U.P. Technical University, I.E.T. Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow (UP) 226021 along with Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- (separately for each course) payable to Finance Officer, U.P. Technical University, Lucknow" payable at Lucknow. The format of application form, information brochure and other details may be downloaded from website http://www: uptu.nic.in .

Last date of receipt of application form in the office of University is 20th June 2009, 5 PM.

COUNSELLING: Admission will be made through a process of counselling (on the basis of relative merit) amongst the applicants. At the time of counselling the candidates have to deposit Original documents and one set of photocopies of (1) Marksheet of 10+2 or equivalent examination, (2) 10th (High School) Certificate (3) Proof of claimed category (Kashmiri Migrants/NRI and relationship certificates) as per clause 3.4 of Information brochure (4) Three recent passport size coloured photographs. An initial fee of Rs. 5000/- in the form of Crossed Bank Draft and counselling fee of Rs. 500/- in the form of A/c payee bank draft in favour of Finance Officer, U.P. Technical University, Lucknow" payable at Lucknow, is to be deposited at the time of counselling. The counselling schedule, counselling letter and list of short listed candidates in both the above categories for counselling will be available on their website www.uptu.nic.in after 25th June, 2009.

Counselling letter for both the categories will not be sent to candidates. Therefore candidates are advised to see the list of short listed candidates of concerning category before reaching at counselling centre on schedule date and time for their counselling.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

1. NRI Candidates must submit the required NRI certificate and relationship certificate at the time of counselling as per clause 3.4(v),(vi), failing which their candidature shall be disqualified and they shall not be permitted to participate in the Counselling.

2. Kashmiri Migrants quota candidates are also advised to fill the separate form for each course (eg. B.Tech., B.Pharm, etc.). Incomplete filled form (without declaration of 10+2 result) will not be accepted.

PLUS ONE ADMISSIONS 2009-2010 (Single Window System)

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala has invited applications for Plus one admission through Single Window System for the year 2009- 10. Forms and prospectus are being distributed for Rs. 10/- through the Government / Aided Higher Secondary Schools in the state.

One should submit single application to the Principal of any Government / Aided higher secondary schools in a District for any number of options in subject combinations and schools they want to study. There is no restriction on applying for more than one district. Since the selection is through District wise Single Window System, single application is enough for considering several options of schools and subject combinations within the District. Last date of receipt of duly completed applications is 20th May 2009. First seat allotment will start from 10th June and main allotments will end on 6th June 2009. Plus one classes will commence on 8th July 2009.

Eligibility

Those who have qualified SSLC (with minimum D+ grade) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply. He/she should be completed 15 years of age as on 1st June 2009 and not exceeded 20 years, (relaxable by 2 years for SC / ST applicants and 5 years for visually handicapped or Duff and Dumb).

Application Details

After submission of applications, the school admission monitoring cell will register the particulars of the applicants and forward the same to the District level admission monitory cell arranged at the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education. All the application details will be uploaded in the Portal www.hscap.kerala.gov.in and the applicants should verify the same. If anybody finds any mistake, it could be corrected. Separate application should be submitted for admission to Aided School Plus One Management / Community seats.

Trial Allotment

A Trial Allotment will be conducted on 1st June 2009 and District wise list for seat allotment will be published in the website www.hscap.kerala.gov.in. At that time every applicant should watch it and make correction or add fresh options if any. First seat allotment will commence on 10th June 2009. In the first allotment who get seat as per first option must join the school by remitting fees. If you are getting seat by considering lower options, you can take provisional admission without remitting fees and wait for getting allotment in lieu of higher options.

Selection criteria is based on Weighted Grade Point Average and details in this regard is given in the prospectus.

Minimum qualification required for admission to all the specializations is a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Architecture/Civil Engineering/Planning or a Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Geography/Economics/Sociology from a recognized University/Institution. Candidates with a Degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture and Planning are required to qualify in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and candidates with a Master's Degree in Geography/Economics/ Sociology are required to qualify in the University Grants Commission's (UGC) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination to be eligible for a monthly scholarship in accordance with the Government of India rules.

Admission to 5-Year Integrated Masters (M.S.) Programme

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have invited applications from candidates for admission to Masters and Doctoral programmes. Five IISERs have been established by the Government of India at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.
IISER is a unique initiative in science education in India where teaching and education are totally integrated with state-of-the-art research . Each IISER is an autonomous institution conducting its own Masters and Doctoral programmes. Students are encouraged to work on research projects during the vacation periods in the first four years of their Masters programme in various research institutes outside IISER.

Eligibility Criteria

Passed 10 + 2 or its equivalent examination: passed in 2008 or appearing in 2009 and have also qualified in one of the following examinations:

Kishore Vaigyanic Protsahan Yojna (KVPY) SX (2009), SA (2007) and SP streams. IIT JEE-2009 merit list or extended merit list.

Availability of Seats and Reservations

Each IISER will be admitting about 100 candidates. The percentage of seats reserved for different categories as per the Government of India norms are:

15% for Scheduled Class (SC) category.
7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST ) category.
Up to 27% for eligible Other Backward Classes (OBC) category (non-creamy layer)
Remaining seats are available for General category

Up to 3% for Physically Disabled (PD) candidates in all the four categories (General, OBC, SC and ST)

Counseling

Counseling for the admission will be held on May 6, 2009 for KVPY stream applicants and on July 2, 2009 for IIT JEE 2009 applicants simultaneously and concurrently at all IISERs. A non-refundable counseling fee of Rs. 1000 will be charged at the time of counseling. This amount will be adjusted against the tuition fee for selected candidates at the time of admission.

Admission

The list of the selected candidates will be announced after counseling is completed at all IISERs. Selected candidates should deposit full admission fees within 15 days of issue of the offer letter, failing which the offer will be withdrawn.

Admissions to all Higher Degree Programmes except MPH are based on the performance of the candidates in a Computer based online test planned to be conducted during 12th-13th June 2009, at Pilani, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi (Noida), Hyderabad, Kolkatta and Nagpur, followed by interviews of shortlisted candidates.

For MBA Programme, shortlisted candidates called for interviews at Pilani will also have to appear for a test in Reading Comprehension and a Group Discussion.

Admissions to MPH are based on the performance of the candidates in a written test, followed by Group discussion and interviews which will be conducted in Pilani on 27th July 2009.
