Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Coimbatore - 641 003, India has invited applications for admission to the following Undergraduate Programs for the Academic Year 2009-10.

(i).B.Sc. (Agriculture)
(ii).B.Sc. (Horticulture)
(iii).B.Sc. (Forestry)
(iv).B.Sc. (Home Science)
(v).B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
(vi).B.Tech. (Food Process Engineering)
(vii).B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
(viii).B.Tech. (Horticulture)
(ix).B.Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering)
(x).B.Tech. (Bioinformatics)
(xi).B.S. (Agribusiness Management)
(xii).B.Tech. (Agricultural Information Technology)

HSC/Equivalent Academic Stream applicants with a pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to with one of the following subject combinations are eligible for admission to all Undergraduate Programmes.
(i)Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one of Biology / Computer Science / Statistics/Biochemistry/Home Science
(ii)Botany, Physics, Chemistry and Zoology
(iii)Biology, Physics, Chemistry and one of Computer Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Nursing / Nutritional Dietetics.

5% of total seats are exclusively reserved for candidates under Vocational Stream. They are not considered under general merit and any other reservation categories. Vocational group candidates are eligible for B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.Sc. (Forestry) and B.Sc. (Home Science) if they have studied Vocational Subject Agricultural Chemicals/Crop Production/Crop Protection/Small Farm Management/Sericulture and Apiculture/Vegetables and Fruits/Spices & Plantation Crops/Floriculture & Medicinal Plants.

Those who have studied Agro-based Industry/Farm Mechanics and Post-harvest Technology/Soil Conservation & Rural Construction Technology are eligible for B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering).

Minimum Qualifying Marks (Academic Stream/Vocational Stream) for Open Competition (OC) is 55 % aggregate of all the four subjects. It is 50 % aggregate of all the four subjects for Backward Class (BC), Backward Class Muslim (BCM) and 45% aggregate of all the four subjects for Most Backward Class (MBC) and Denotified Communities (DNC). Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) need only a pass in qualifying examination with the specified qualifying subjects.
For the purpose of qualifying examination marks the maximum number of attempts to pass for admission to all the courses are 3 for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and 2 for all other Communities.

Applicant should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year for all the courses. However, for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes there is no age limit.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in their qualifying examination and ranked as per the procedure given in the Information Brochure.
Those not fulfilling the Tamil Nadu Residential Status can secure admissions through Industrial sponsorship/NRI category.

The Dean (Agriculture) & Chairman Admissions, Agricultural College And Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore - 641 003 will be in charge of the admissions. Admission Notification will be issued later.
