Diabetes ‐ 2012

Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Andhra Pradesh for
admission into one year post graduate certificate course (4 seats) in
Diabetes-2012. Please visit website:

Note:
a) This certificate course is not a recognized by Medical Council of
India.
b) This course is not a degree or diploma and does not entitle a person
to claim as specialist.
Eligibility
a) Candidates who have passed MBBS examination from Medical Colleges
recognized by MCI.
b) Preference will be given to the candidates those who have
postgraduate qualification and experience in clinical medicine.
Application Procedure
1. A Candidate must submit hard copy of the application form.
3. The application form may be downloaded and filled appropriately.
Please note that all the columns in the application form require to be filled
in. Incomplete application forms are liable to be rejected.
4. The filled in application form will have to be printed, signed and
sent to Associate Dean, Aptitude Testing, 2nd floor, OPD Block,Nizam’s
Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082 on or before 5.00
PM on 25‐10‐2012 along with a) candidate’s passport size photograph , b) all
the documents mentioned in the annexure I and c) a demand draft (see para 5
below).
5. A demand draft for Rs.2,000/‐ (Rupees two thousand only) drawn in
favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and dated between
04‐10‐2012 to 25‐10‐2012 or a NIMS cash receipt for the same amount will have
to be submitted simultaneously along with the filled‐in application. The
candidate must write his/her name and the course applied for on the back side
of Bank Draft/NIMS cash receipt. Application fee is non‐refundable even if the
application is rejected.
6. The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and
time shall not be considered. The institute will not be responsible for
non‐receipt of applications or delay in postal transit.
7. An acknowledgement along with registration number will be sent to
the respective candidate through e‐mail after the application is processed.
8. The in‐service candidates must be sponsored by their parent
department. Applications should be forwarded by the appointing authority. The
in‐service candidates are required to submit “No Objection Certificate” in
original from the appointing authority at the time submission of application.
Interview:
1.The eligible candidates are required to attend interview at the time
and date specified.
2.Call letters for interview will be sent to the candidates through
e‐mail or will be issued in person
3.Candidate appearing for the Interview will not be paid any traveling
allowance.
4.Candidate appearing for the interview shall bring Bio‐data and all
original certificates.
Method of Selection
1.Selection will be made based on the performance of the candidates at
the Interview.
2.In the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks in the
interview, their inter se merit in the descending order shall be determined as
follows:
i.Candidate securing higher aggregate marks in Final MBBS examination
(Part I and Part II) followed by
ii.Candidate senior in age will be considered
3.The minimum percentage of marks in the interview for admission to
post graduate certificate course shall be 50% for general category candidates
and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and
other Backward Classes.
4.The marks obtained by the candidates in the interview and merit list
along with the names of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on
the notice board of the Institute/website

on the date specified. In case the
candidate fails to report for admission he/she forfeits the right to admission.
5.Candidates have to report for admission on the date specified in person.
No request for postponing the date of admission or request to appear at an
earlier date shall be entertained. In case, a candidate fails to report for
admission at the date and time specified, he/she forfeits the right to
admission and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit
list.
Admission
1. All those candidates who have been allotted the seat have to pay the
fee as specified and submit the original certificates on the date of admission.
2. In all matters relating to admission, the decision of the Institute
shall be final and binding on the candidates and selection cannot be questioned
after admissions are closed.
3.No individual correspondence will be made for admission. Candidates
are requested to follow the information displayed at NIMS notice board and
website: www.nims.edu.in.
4.Fee Structure:
Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) which includes tuition fee,
cost of
teaching material, library fee and examination fee.
5.The fee paid at the time of admission is not refundable under any
circumstances.
6.Candidates who are employed in the State of A.P in the State or
Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and
other similar quasi Government Institutions within this State are also required
to pay the above fee. Non‐payment of tuition fee will entail discontinuation of
the course.
