                  CERTIFICATE COURSE FOR MEDICAL SECRETARY

The Tata Memorial Centre (Tata Memorial Hospital) announces a Certificate Course for Medical Secretary for 01 (one) year commencing from 03.09.2012 in the department of Medical Administration, TMH. Candidates who pursue this course will not be assured permanent job at the end of the course, however they will be eligible to apply for future vacancies arising in the hospital.

DURATION: Twelve months (12 months) commencing from 03.09.2012 to 31.08.2013

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduates preferably from a Science Background with the aptitude to serve patients.  Candidates who have secretarial background will have an added advantage.

AGE Limit    
Below 25 years.  Relaxable for sponsored candidates.

Objective
To provide full fledged understanding of Structures and Processes in various sectors of the hospital thereby equipping prospective Medical Secretaries to facilitate health care delivery to patients in a conducive manner.
Outstation candidates will be provided accommodation @ Rs.300/- p.m. subject to availability of accommodation during the training period.  A Sum of Rs.1400/- p.m. (approx) will be charged towards diet charges, for which a sum of Rs. 4,000/- to be paid as a diet deposit (refundable).   A sum of Rs. 250/- p.m. will be charged towards transportation, if availed. 

The candidate shall submit a non refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- (Rs. 60/- for SC/ST Candidates) drawn in favour of Tata Memorial Centre, Parel, Mumbai on or before 27.07.2012 to the H.R.D. Office, Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel,  Mumbai – 400 012.  No other mode of payment will be accepted.  Female candidates are exempted from paying of fees while submitting application.

HOW TO APPLY:  Eligible applicants would be required to apply ONLINE through the link on our website viz. http://tmc.gov.in OR http://tmh.gov.in/applicationform and forward a printout of online application along with Xerox copies of certificate.   No other mode of application will be accepted.

For applying Online, the applicant must possess valid email ID and a facility to take printout of the Acknowledgement Receipt.

All correspondence with the applicant will be done through email only.  Information regarding offer letters etc. will be provided through email.  Responsibility of receiving, downloading and printing of related documents will be of the candidate.  Tata Memorial Centre will not be responsible for any loss of email sent, due to invalid/wrong email ID provided by the candidate or delivery of emails to spam/bulk mail folder etc.  
  
The application can only be submitted after entering the Registration Slip No.  The candidate must submit a recent passport size photograph, attested copies of all certificates regarding Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, Experience Certificates, Caste Certificate, Physically Handicapped Certificate etc. along with the copy of online application form.  Only committed applications will be accepted.  The candidate will be responsible if the application is not committed online and submitted to H.R.D. Department.

Any trainee leaving or remaining absent from the training before completion of this course will have to refund the amount of stipend together with interest thereon as per the rates, as may be fixed by the hospital.  Those candidates who are found below expected standards with consistent poor performance in studies will be terminated from the training course.

Persons working under Central/State Government/Autonomous Body/Semi Government Organizations and other Public Sector Undertakings must submit their application forwarded through the head of the organization.

Late & incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.  No correspondence of any kind will be entertained.   Last date for receiving applications may be relaxed by two weeks in respect of candidates working or training abroad provided they send a PDF version of the complete application with all relevant attachments before the last date.  

Tata Memorial Hospital reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualification and marks.  Merely fulfilling the prescribed qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for the interview.  Tata Memorial Hospital also reserves the right to reject any of the application without assigning any reason thereof.

II. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
a. For M.Sc.(Hort):
The candidate should possess a Degree in B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Agriculture) or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized  Horticulture  /  Agriculture University / Institutions recognized by ICAR with a minimum CGPA of not less than 2.25/4.00 or OGPA 6.00/10.00  (For SC/ST/Cat-I  candidates mere pass is enough).
b. For Doctoral Programme:
The candidates should possess  a Master Degree  in M.Sc. (Hort.) / M.Sc.(Agri.)  in Horticulture  or its
equivalent qualification from a recognized Horticulture /Agriculture University/ Institutions recognized by ICAR with a  minimum  CGPA of not less than 2.50/4.00 or  OGPA of   6.50/10.00 (For SC/ST/Cat-I candidates  mere  pass is enough).

The  candidates should send  the filled-in Application alongwith  all the relevant  copies of Testimonials
(SSLC,PUC,UG,PG marks cards, Caste & Income Certificate etc.) and D.D. as mentioned below obtained on or after the date of admission Notification but before the last date of submission of Application. No certificate sent after the last date for receipt of the application will be accepted except the OGPA card / PDC of qualifying examination for which the last date of submission will be a day earlier to the date of Entrance Test (i.e., on or before 11.08.2012).
The  filled-in application should be submitted to the Registrar, University of Horticultural Sciences,
Sector No.60, Navanagar, Bagalkot-587103 on or before 03.08.2012 (5.00 pm). The late submitted and incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. The University will not be held responsible for any postal delay.

V. OTHER INFORMATION:
a)   Reservation of seats are made as per the State Government order in force from time to time.
b)  One additional seat will be allotted for Post- Graduate degree programme to Kashmiri Migrants as per regulations.
c)  The Common Written Test for all the disciplines in M.Sc.(Hort.) & Ph.D. Programmes will be held at College of Horticulture, Bagalkot, Haveli Campus on  12.08.2012 at 10.30  am (Sunday) for all eligible candidates. The list of eligible candidates will be uploaded in University Website on 10.08.2012. No separate  intimation will be sent for attending Written Test/Counseling.
d)   Verification  of all original documents for admission will be  done during Counseling.  All selected candidates should pay the prescribed fees on the day of counseling only.
e)  The first semester will commence on 27.08.2012. All selected candidates should report to the respective colleges and register for the courses.
f) The Candidates from abroad including Non-Resident Indians should send their application through the ICAR/ Govt. of India. Application sent directly to the University will not be entertained. However, Outside Karnataka State candidates can apply directly. If any vacancy remains after accommodating the candidates from Karnataka, other State candidates shall be considered.

Tech degree in Computer Science, Applied Physics, Radio-Physics and Electronics, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, B Pharm, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or an MBBS degree or its equivalent from Medical Faculty with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Statistics in the Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination would be eligible to sit for the admission test. 
 The Admission Test will be based on a written examination of one-hour duration wherein the students will have to answer questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Literacy (pertaining to 12th standard). The final selection will be based solely on the performance in the admission test. 

Fellowship for students: 
Some of the selected students will be eligible to receive a consolidated stipend @Rs 3000/- per month. Those who have already qualified the NET/GATE before the admission would receive a consolidated stipend @ 5000/- per month.

SELECTION
Selection is strictly on merit. Candidates seeking admission to the course shall have to appear for a Written Admission Test followed by an Interview–WRITTEN ADMISSION TEST [Total Marks: 100/ Duration: 90 minutes]
Part A: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (Marks: 60)
[General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Skill, Book Publishing & Production etc]
Part B: Descriptive Type Questions (Marks 40)
In both Part A and Part B of the written test, questions are set in English. For Part B, the candidates can answer either in English or in Bengali. 
INTERVIEW [Marks: 50]
Candidates seeking admission to the course shall have to qualify in the Written Admission Test by securing at least 25% of the marks and final selection will be made on the basis of cumulative score of the written test and interview.
An SC/ST/PH candidate will be eligible for admission only if he/she gets at least 75 per cent of the marks obtained by the last candidate (in the general category) in the list of the selected. 
FEES:  Course Fee: Rs. 10,000/- (Rs.11, 000/- for sponsored candidates and Rs.25,000/- for NRI/ Foreign candidate). Course Fee is received in full at the time of admission in the form of a single crossed bank draft/banker's cheque drawn in favour of 'PGDBP, CU' payable at Kolkata. Payment in any other form will not be accepted.


Fees are non-refundable. Library Fee and Examination Fee separate.
All notices regarding selection (admission test/interview/admission, etc.) are put up on the Notice Board of the  CSBP (Asutosh Building, First Floor) and the University is not under any obligation to send such information to any individual candidate.

MBA Travel and Tourism

The two year full-time MBA (Travel & Tourism) equip the students with management skills and professionalism to suit the requirements of tourism industry and the service sector. The programme consists of four semesters of six months each, spread across two years. The course integrates an academic knowledge of management studies with its applications in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Those who are interested can specialise in Travel and Tour operations, Hospitality or Systems. Add on international certificates in German & French and hands on experience in organizing international events are the specialities of the programme. The course is affiliated to University of Kerala and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Admission Requirements 

The candidates must have completed a valid and recognized Graduate degree program in any discipline and should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.  Those who appear for the final year examination can also apply. Age must not exceed 30 years. He or she should be of amicable nature, and should be willing to travel, meet people and work in a service and customer-oriented industry. The Post Graduate Diploma in Tour Operations is designed based on the specific requirements of the travel and tour operating agencies in India.
