Seats

The  School  of  Distance  Education  intends  to  enroll  approximately  1000  students for  the programme annually.  The candidates will be admitted from Kerala and Gulf region.  Those who belong to  Kerala shall be attached to any of the 5 University  MBA centres, ie SMS Thrissur,  SMS  Palakkad,  SMS  Kozhikode,  SMS  Kuttipuram,  SMS  Vadakara  and  at  the Department of Commerce & Management Studies, University of Calicut, in addition to a centre at  Thiruvananthapuram  for  academic  administration,  contact  classes,  project  work,  library facilities, etc.  Depending on the number of enrolment, the University reserves the right to attach the candidates opting for different centres at any of the said centres.

 All overseas candidates shall be attached to any of the overseas counseling centres of the School of Distance Education in Kuwait, Sharjah or Rasal-Khaima.

The maximum number of students attached to the centres will be 80 inside Kerala and 50 outside Kerala and abroad.  If more number of students than the maximum fixed opt for a particular centre, attachment will be made on the basis of merit.

Eligibility for admission

Any  student  who  has  passed  any  degree  of  the  University  of  Calicut  (including  degree programmes of SDE, University of Calicut) or  that of any other University or institute or institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE. Programmes of other Universities or institutions shall be in 10+ 2+ 3 pattern (or 10+ 2   + 4) under regular stream. In all the cases, the student should  have  passed  the  bachelor  degree  examination  with  not  less  than  50  %  marks  in aggregate including the marks of languages if any (without approximation, that is, 49.9999 % is not eligible since it is less than 50%), is eligible for admission. However, SC/ST, OBC, and other eligible communities shall be given relaxation as per University rules. 

Admission Procedure

The admission to the programme shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination called CUMAT(SDE)  conducted  by  the  University.  The  rank  score  shall  be  based  on  Entrance Examination carrying 120 marks. 

Questions will be to test the candidate’s ability in the following areas:  English Language, test of reasoning, numerical ability and general awareness. 

A rank list shall be prepared by the University based on the Entrance score and a counseling session shall be conducted for admission to the MBA Programme.

The medium of instruction and examination shall be English.

The Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology is inviting applications for the IInd batch admission for MS and MPhil Courses in this academic year 2012-13. The Courses are conducted under the Credit and Semester system. M S Nanoscience and Nanotechnology is a 2 year course comprising 4 Semesters in which 10 Indian students and 2 foreign students will be taken. The eligibility for the course is B.Tech. (Any Branch)/M.Sc. (Any branch of Science). The registration Fee is Rs.350/- for General category & Rs.175 for SC/ST category. The Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology was established in M G University in 2009. An expert committee has formulated the MS and M.Phil courses and started the first batch in 2010-11. The first batch of the centre has successfully completed and the M.Phil students have been sent to major national institutions such as Rajiv Gandhi Centre  for Biotechnology (Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala), and Central Electrochemical Research Institute (Karaikudi, Chennai) to carry out their Project work. Also the M S students have been sent to the major International Universities in Japan, Korea, Poland and Germany. The centre has also got the accreditation and financial assistance from UGC (Under 5- year Innovative Programme Scheme) to conduct the MS course.  

The Centre for Nanosciene and Nanotechnology has received about 16 crores of financial assistance for various projects from DST – Nanomission Project, UGC, DBT, ICMR and KSCSTE. The Centre has signed MoU between some International Universities which include Walter Sisulu University, South Africa; UniversitiTeknologi Mara,  Malaysia; Changwon National University, Korea; University of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan;  University of LeMans, France; University of Rouen, France. The main International collaborators with this centre include General Cables, USA and Czech Company, Germany and the national collaborators include Alathur Pharmaceuticals Manufacturer Association, Chennai and Apollo Tyres, Kerala.

This centre has also achieved a patent with Apollo Tyres for the inner tubes and inner liners of the tyres. 

The centre is well equipped with various sophisticated instruments for the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials which have been procured through various projects of different funding agencies. Some of those include High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope, X-Ray Diffractometer, Scanning Probe Microscope, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer, Thermal Mechanical Analyzer, Gas Permeability Tester, Lyophilizer, Electrospinning Unit, High Temperature Furnaces, Ultrasonic Processor, Spin Coater etc.

The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture their talent. The scheme, covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level. For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.

Eligibility: All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Scholarships: On the basis of the National Talent Search Examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded. The amount of scholarship will be Rs.500/- per month.

Reservation: 15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged Group of Students.

Selection: The pattern of written examination for Class X will be as follows:

Candidates should have passed B.Pharm.  from an AICTE approved Institutions or Institutions of National Importance  with minimum 60% marks  in  case of General/OBC candidate and 55% in case of SC/ST candidate.

M.Arch.

For admission to M.Tech. (Bio-Technology),  candidates having  degree of M.Sc. in Physical/Chemical/Biological/Veterinary/Agricultural Science or  Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or equivalent degree in relevant discipline or B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical/Bioinformatics/Biochemical/Food or Agriculture/Environmental or equivalent degree in relevant discipline or MBBS/B.Pharm./B.V.Sc./B.D.S with at least 60% marks (for General/OBC candidates),  and 55%  marks (for SC/ST candidates) are also eligible.

For admission to M.Tech.  (CAD-CAM),  candidates must have B.Tech./B.E.  in Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Civil Engineering or allied branches with at least 60% marks (for General/OBC candidates),  and 55% marks (for SC/ST candidates).

For admission to M.Tech. (Automation  &  Robotics),  candidates must have B.Tech./B.E.  in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Computer Science  &  Engineering or allied branches with at least 60%  marks for General/OBC candidates),  and 55%  marks (for SC/ST candidates).

The  equivalence of any degree for admission to any programme  shall be decided by the University.  The  eligibility criteria given above are minimum and mere possessing the same does not qualify  a candidate  for admission. University may prescribe any other requirements over and above these conditions. 

How to Apply:-

(i) The candidate has to fill an application form On-line with all relevant details.

(ii) After filling the application form On-line candidate has to take printout of application form and payment challan.

(iii) Payment of Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/WOMEN has to be made to the bank & branch as stated in challan.

(iv) Candidate has to send printed copy of his/her On-line application along withUniversity Copy of Challan and certified copy of  all  documents  related to qualification, GATE score etc.

(iii) Experience: Candidate should have one year experience as on the date of notification for inviting application (i.e.08.08.2012). In any hospital with an average strength of 100 inpatients or in a School of Nursing or  in a Community Health Nursing Programme or internship/Compulsory Nursing Service after registration with the Kerala Nursing Council. 

  

Note: 

[a] The experience acquired by candidates after registration from Nursing Councils outside                           Kerala, after getting B Sc Nursing Degree will also be counted for experience. 

[b] The period undergone by a candidate for completing the Post Basic Nursing Course will not be reckoned as work experience. 

[c] The experience acquired after the completion of the General Nursing and Midwifery Course, but before acquiring the B.Sc Nursing Degree will not be counted for the required experience. 

  

Applicants should have obtained registration with Kerala Nursing Council at  the time of Counseling. 

3. Age: The upper age limit for General candidates shall be 45 years and that for Service candidates will be 49 years as on the date of notification for inviting application. (i.e.08.08.2012) 

4. Selection and Entrance Examination : All Candidates including Service Quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram on 09.09.2012(Sunday).The Entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions. General merit candidates and service candidates have to score 40% marks in the Entrance Examination. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and SEBC the required minimum marks is 35% in the Entrance Examination.  

5. Application forms:  Prospectus and Online Application form will be available from  08.08.2012 (Wednesday) onwards in the website  www.cee-kerala.org. The Online Application procedure is common for General and Service candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the online application form provided in the website  www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fees at any  State Bank of Travancore Branch using the Bank Chalan available with the print out .Candidates residing outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the  Commissioner for Entrance Examinations,  payable at Thiruvananthapuram.  Application fee is Rs.1000/-  for General/Service candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates. Service candidates seeking admission under General Merit Quota also should remit extra Rs.1000/- [please see clause 8.1]. The application form and prospectus will not be available from the Medical Colleges or from the office of Director of Medical Education or from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded on any circumstances. 

6. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission to the General Merit seats should take  a print out of the application form, affix recent passport size photograph same as the one uploaded ,in the space provided ,should attest themselves and forward their completed application with all the required documents mentioned in clause 8.2 of the prospectus  including original chalan/DD to the  Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post/Speed  post  or  hand  delivery  so  as  to  reach  this  office    before  5  pm on 20.08.2012 (Monday).

Madhya Pradesh (MP) Bhoj (Open) University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/Diploma in Education (D.Ed)/Master of Education (M.Ed) programme, to be offered through distance education for the academic year 2012

Admission Procedure: Admission in all programmes will be made on the basis of merit, obtained in the entrance test, to be conducted by the university

Date of exam: 07th October, 2012, 11.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. (B.Ed/M.Ed); 14th October, 2012, 11.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. (D.Ed)

D.Ed exam: Govt Higher Secondary Colleges of Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ujjain

M.Ed exam: Govt Teaching Colleges of Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ujjain

How to apply: Interested candidates may apply online by filling up the online application form made available on the website

Application fee of Rs 700/- (for B.Ed programme), Rs 500/- (for D.Ed programme) and Rs 1000/- (for M.Ed programme)

After filling up the application form, submit the same on the website and take a print out for further admission related proceedings

After the stipulated last date, candidates will be able to fill the application form with the additional late fee of Rs 250/-, till 17th September, 2012
