Sardar Vallabhbhai Institute of Textile Management an autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Textiles, at Coimbatore has invited applications for admission to the various Management Programmes run by the Institute.

The courses include the 2-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM- Textiles/Apparel), Full-Time /Part-Time Research Programmes in Management & Textile Management (Ph.D Full Time- 3 years and Part-Time -4 years); M.Phil (Full-Time 1 year/Part-time 2 years), Part-Time Evening Certificate Programme of 6 months duration in Marketing and Merchandising.

Admission will be based on CAT/MAT/JCCAT/TANCET score, Group Discussion and Interview. Candidates who have not appeared for MBA Entrance Examination can attend SVPITM Admission Test.

Application forms can be obtained in person by paying Rs.600/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST) by cash from the Institute. It can also be obtained by Post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.650/- (Rs.450/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of 'Director, SVP Institute of Textile Management' payable at Coimbatore. The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) for admission to the 5 year M.SC (Integrated) Programme at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on 10th May, 2009 (Sunday) at over 25 centres across the country.

NISER and UM-DAE CBS, started by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007 aims at training scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programs of Department of Atomic Energy and other Applied Science institutions in the country.

General category and OBC Students securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India are eligible to apply. SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disability (PD) need only 55% marks. If letter grade is given by a Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required, in the absence of which, the decision of the respective Admissions Committee will be final. Those who have passed Class XII qualifying examination in 2007 or 2008 or are appearing in 2009 are eligible to apply.

General/OBC applicants must have been born on or after 1.10.1984. The age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST/PD candidates. There are 52 seats at NISER and 30 at UM-DAE CBS. Completed application forms/printout of the online application form, along with application fee of Rs. 500/- for General category and OBC male candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and female candidates,  in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of NISERNEST payable at Bhubaneswar should reach 'The Chief Coordinator, NEST-2009' latest by April 3, 2009.

NEST will be held at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru/Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Panaji, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong and Srinagar.

The question paper of NEST will have five sections of which the first section having general questions is compulsory for all candidates. The next four sections will include questions from (1) Biology (2) Chemistry (3) Mathematics and (4) Physics. Candidates may opt to answer any three of the four sections. All sections carry equal marks. The questions will be aimed testing the comprehension and analytic ability of the candidates. The questions will be objective type with four answers given for each question. There may be one or more correct answers for each question. Wrong answers will be awarded negative marks.

The common Under Graduate Admission Written Test, 2009 (UG–AWT–2009) for admission to the MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing and BPT courses at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, Punjab, will be will be held on 24th May 2009 (Sunday), from 2 pm to 4.30 pm at Allahabad, Amritsar, Bathinda, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ludhiana , Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi. Applicants should report to the allotted Centre by 1.30 pm.

Applicant must be an India citizen. Persons of Indian Origin with Citizenship of other countries may apply under NRI category for which a separate prospectus is available. No other foreign national will be admitted. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2009. Those born after 31st December 1992 are not eligible to apply for admission to the Undergraduate courses starting in July 2009.

A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination.

For admission to B.Sc. Nursing and BPT course applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination should be 40%.

Candidates selected through UG AWT 2009 for MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing in any category are required to enter into a service agreement with the concerned member of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, without which admission will not be granted. Service Agreement is for a minimum period of two years after completion of the course in a hospital or in an institution managed by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society or its member Body/Church.

All those applying under Christian category should apply to one of the sponsoring agencies of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana society for sponsorship. Details are given in the Prospectus.

It is mandatory for all Christian applicants to pass the Bible Test for considering them under Christian Minority categories. If any Christian applicant fails to pass the Bible Test, they will be considered under appropriate open quotas only. Bible Test for Christian applicants will be held from 4.45 pm to 5.15 pm, on 24.5.2009 itself. All Christian applicants should remain seated after the UG–AWT–2009 till 5.20 pm.

Diploma in Dramatic Arts (DDA)

Graduate in any subject from a recognised University in India.

Participation in at least 6 productions.

Working knowledge of Hindi & English.

Medium of instruction: Hindi / English

Age Limit as on 1.7.2009 Minimum 20 years Maximum 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxed able by 5 years for SC / ST candidates only.

Reservation for SC/ST/ Physically Disabled Persons: Out of 23 seats, 3 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled castes; 1 seat is reserved for scheduled tribes; 3 seats are reserved OBC (except Creamy Layer as notified by Government) and physically disabled persons, as per Govt, of India rules.

Selection: The Expert Committee constituted by the School will assess the aptitude and talent of the candidates & its decision will be final. Any CANVASSING in this regard will be treated as a disqualification.

Centers for Preliminary Test: A preliminary test will be conducted at five Centres i.e. Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai & Guwahati. The candidates qualifying in this test will have to attend a workshop of 4 / 5 days in the School premises for their final selection for which they will be paid D.A. and II class train / bus fare from the place of their residence to Delhi & back by the shortest route, on submission of ticket / cash receipt and will also be provided accommodation on modest sharing basis.

Financial Assistance: All selected students will be given monthly scholarship of Rs.3000/- to meet their academic and other expenses.

Physical Fitness: The students selected for admission will undergo a medical test for physical fitness. The preliminary selection is subject to the clearance of fitness test.

There is a common applications form for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application even if applying for more than one Programme. The Test fee is Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) for any one of the Programmes (M.B.A or M.C.A or M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan). For every additional programme applied, applicant has to pay additional Test fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) along with the filled-in application.

Registration for the entrance test will be either through 'Spot Registration' or 'Registration through Internet', both of which will commence on 1.4.2009.

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), will hold the Under Graduate Entrance Test 2009 (UGET 2009) for admission to the Undergraduate Courses in Private, Unaided, Medical and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka for the academic year 2009-10, on 17th May 2009. Admissions will be based on Entrance Test and Centralized Counseling.  There is no common Entrance Test for admission to BDS during 2009-10.

Applicants should have passed the 2nd PUC/12th Std or equivalent examination. Candidates who are appearing for these examinations and expecting the results may also apply.

Eligibility for MBBS will be as fixed by Medical Council of India and that for BE will be as per the All India Council for Technical Education norms. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Admission to all the ME/MTech programmes shall be made on the basis of merit of the Entrance test to be conducted by the Thapar University. GATE Score card shall be used for the purpose of scholarship only. Admission to ME/MTech programme will be open to a candidate who obtains at least 50% marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination from a recognised University.

Note: Candidate who has passed Section B of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Grade IETE and has three years of professional experience in reputed organisation are also eligible for admission to ME/MTech programme in respective disciplines.

Sponsored Candidates with 55% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible for admission. Such candidates must have a minimum of two years of full time work experience in a registered firm/company/industry/educational and research institutions/any Government Department of Government Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. The employer in the sponsorship certificate must indicate that the fee will be borne by the sponsoring organization and the candidate will not be withdrawn before the completion of the programme. The fee of the sponsored candidates shall be paid by the sponsoring agency from the company's bank account.

LEAVE RULES
ME/MTech regular students getting scholarship shall be entitled for leave for a maximum period of thirty days per year in addition to general holidays but not entitled to vacation, e.g., summer, winter, etc. The students must apply for leave in advance and obtain the sanction from the concerned Head of the Department. The student shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he/she would not leave the course midway or appear in any competitive examinations, etc., not related to Engineering & Technology, in order to be eligible to receive this scholarship.

TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS
It will be obligatory for every post-graduate student to undertake eight to ten hours per week of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the University. This could include tutorials, laboratories classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computers and other central facilities, assistance in library etc.

TIMING FOR PART-TIME CLASSES

The classes for ME/MTech part-time programmes may be held on either Saturday or Sunday (whole day) during all the weeks in a Semester.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The normal duration of programme leading to the ME/MTech degree shall be four semesters for regular students and seven semesters for part-time students, which includes course work of twelve subjects, seminar/minor project and thesis. The maximum duration for regular programmes is six semesters and for part time programmes is ten semesters.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The candidates admitted in ME/MTech with valid GATE score will be considered to receive scholarships only if approved & amount released by AICTE or any other funding agency.

There are 50 Scholarships per annum(Rs 60,000- 20 Scholarships, Rs 36000- 30 Scholarships) for students who will not be getting GATE Scholarships. The decision regarding eligibility criteria for distribution of these scholarships will be decided by DOAA.

The part-time candidates must produce No Objection Certificate from the present employer/Department.

If the number of students registered is less than ten on the date of registration in a PG programme, then decision of the Director shall be final regarding offering of such programme.

The Programme is targeted at individuals with high potential for success in business and industry. Such individuals must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (under 10+2+3 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a University recognized by Association of Indian Universities/AICTE.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they complete all formalities of their examination before June 30, 2009. Such candidates, on selection, will be allowed to join the programme only provisionally subject to successful passing & completion of the bachelor's degree examination by securing at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2009.

Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission.

Admission to BITS, Pilani - Dubai (BPD) is based entirely on the candidates merit, his/her preferences, facilities available and availability of seats in the discipline preferred. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based only on the overall aggregate secured by the candidate in the Qualifying Examination and not based on any entrance test. While the Dubai Campus has been set-up, specially to cater to the educational requirements of the residents of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, candidates from other countries are also eligible to apply. Admissions are open to all nationalities.

Normally a student is able to finish any of the above undergraduate programmes in 4 years (8 semesters).

These degree programmes have both Practice School and Thesis/Seminar options. By judicious choice of electives, students of any of these programmes can make themselves prepared for (i) admission to higher degree programmes in the best universities of the world (ii) a good career in teaching & research (iii) multi disciplinary professional career etc.


Dual Degree
One of the most popular flexibilities provided in the BITS, Pilani's educational structure is the Dual Degree Scheme. Under this scheme, it is possible for a student to work for and complete two Degrees within a reasonable period of time. All the admitted students are given an opportunity to take up a Dual Degree based on their performance in the first year of the programme.

For example: A Student who has been allotted Chemical Engineering or any other discipline can choose to take Computer Science or any other discipline as his/her Dual Degree, if he/she maintains the prescribed criteria(CGPA of 7 or more) in the first year. In such a case, he/she will take a minimum of one additional year and pay an additional Admission/Tuition fee to complete both the degree programmes and receive the Degree in respective disciplines.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Part Time)

Master's degree (including IIFT MPIB) in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 55% marks.

Diploma courses which are considered equivalent to Master Degree (eg. PGDIM from IIMs) by AICTE/UGC only would be considered. In such cases candidates would be required to produce the certificate from competent authority.

BTech/MTech from a recognized university (CGPA 4.5 on a scale of 7). Minimum 5 years of work experience

Weightage would be given to candidates with publications such as books, papers in National/International Journals and paper presentations in National /international conferences

Candidates with prior teaching and research experience and / or Candidates from industry having made exceptional contribution in their area of work would be an important consideration

Overseas students can also apply as long as they satisfy the above criteria. However they will be required to attend the first stage of course work on the campus.

Two seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from industry and trade association such as FICCI, ASSOCHAM, CII etc.

Admission Process

A three stage process is followed for admission to the PhD Programme.

Stage I: The Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the Institute will screen the applications together with necessary enclosures and will short-list the candidates based on the eligibility criteria.

Stage II: Short-listed candidates will submit a detailed Research Proposal as per the guidelines contained in the Prospectus (Appendix II). The RAC would once again screen all the Project proposals received and prepare the list of short listed candidates

Stage III: Short-listed candidates will, subsequently, appear for a presentation cum viva before the RAC at the Institute

Academic Rules:

Applicants are requested to go through the brochure in detail before applying.

For the course work, all scholars will be governed by the academic rules being followed in the Institute's programmes. Classes would be held on weekends.

The decision of RAC in all selection and academic matters would be final and binding on the scholars

Minimum of 75% attendance is required for the course work.

The institute reserves the right to include, remove or modify any of the electives for the second stage course work.

Both stages of course work have to be successfully completed before registration is confirmed. All participants must finish the course work between 12-14 months. Thesis must be submitted within a minimum of 2 years and maximum period of 3 years of completion of course work. In case comments of examiner/s warrant additional work by the student, a maximum period of additional 12 months may be given to the student for re-submission of thesis.

After completion of course work participants are required to interact with their supervisors on a minimum of fortnightly basis

The supervisors and RAC would give a satisfactory/not satisfactory report after presentation of every progress seminar

Candidates have been provided the options of attending the classes from New Delhi and/or Kolkata. Candidates from other locations will have to fulfill the attendance requirement by being present for classes in either location

Fees must be paid in full according to the fee payment schedule (Page No.). in case of any delay, a fine of Rs 100 per day would be charged till 15 days. Thereafter re-registration would be required.

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India/AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education (10+2+3 system) after completing higher secondary schooling (Class 12 or equivalent).

Candidates must have one of following qualifications:

1. BCA, or
2. BSc in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics, or
3. BSc / B.A. with Mathematics or Statistics at graduate level

Candidates of B.Sc. / B.A. Honours must have minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in their Honours subject. Candidates of BCA and other graduate courses must have minimum 60% marks in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in ALL subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects).

Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.

Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor's programme in 2009 can also apply, and if selected can join the programme provisionally. At the time of the counselling they must also bring the following:

1. A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institute stating that by 30 June 2009, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their Bachelor's degree.

2. A certificate from the principal certifying that they have obtained requisite marks as per item (3) above based on latest available grades / marks.

Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification with requisite marks as per item no (3) above. They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31 October 2009. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test on 23 and 24 May 2009 at Allahabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, Patna and Ranchi. It is proposed to hold the MCA 2009 Online Entrance Test at the following Test Centres - Allahabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, Patna and Ranchi - provided there are sufficient number of candidates at each of the given Test Centres. In case the number of candidates opting for a given Test Centre is less than a certain minimum, the Institute reserves the right to shift candidates to the nearest alternative Centre.

Counselling: Counselling schedules of candidates will be based on their performance in the above Test, and will be notified by 7 June 2009, on the Institute website and Notice Boards only. National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II), 2009.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II), 2009.

The examination, for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA for 124th Course and Naval Academy for 44th 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course commencing from 30th June, 2010, will be held on 30th August, 2009. Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st January, 1994 are eligible.

For Army Wing of NDA, applicants should have passed 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of School Education/equivalent conducted by a State Education Board/University. For admission to the Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy, applicant should have passed 12th Class of the10+2 pattern of School Education/equivalent with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board/University. Those appearing in 12th Class under 10+2 pattern of School Education/equivalent can also apply.

Applicant must be physically fit according to the physical standards as given in Commission's Notice.

The approximate vacancies will be 335 (195 for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 35 for the Executive Branch of Naval Academy). A candidate is required to specify in the Application Form, the Services for which he wishes to be considered in the order of his preference.

Application can be submitted in the Common Application Form of the Commission which can be purchased from designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (as per list in Appendix-III of the Notice), against cash payment of Rs.20/-.

Examination fee of Rs.50/- is to be paid by all applicants (except SC/ST) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only which has to be affixed on the application form in the space provided therein.

Completed applications must reach 'Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069', by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 13th April, 2009. In respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the Notice, the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 20th April, 2009.

The Examination consists of 2 papers each of 2 ½ hours duration. Paper 1- Mathematics carries 300 marks and Paper 2 - General Ability Test carries 600 marks. Questions will be objective type. Detailed syllabus is given at http://www.upsc.gov.in

Admission to the courses will be made based on the results of the written examination followed by intelligence and personality test by the Services Selection Board for  candidates who qualify in the written examination.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration

The National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has invited applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, offered jointly by the NCHMCT and the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

The Three- Year (Six Semesters) programme is aimed at equipping students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping and providing managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety and Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

Admission shall be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the All India written test (JEE) to be held from 10 a.m to 1 p.m on May 9th, 2009  (Saturday), at Ahmedabad (Code-51), Bangalore (52), Bhopal (53), Bhubaneswar (54), Chandigarh (55), Chennai (56),  Delhi (57),  Dehradun (58), Gangtok (59),  Goa (60),  Gurdaspur (61),  Guwahati (62), Gwalior (63), Hyderabad (64), Jammu (65), Jaipur (66), Kolkata (67), Lucknow (68), Mumbai (69), Patna (70), Shimla (71), Srinagar (72) and Thiruvananthapuram (73).

The JEE will consist of a paper of 3 hours duration with  200 marks having questions from (i) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (30 questions) (ii) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30) (iii) General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30) (iv) English Language (80) (v) Aptitude for Service Sector (30). Question Paper will be in English and Hindi (except for English Language). The scheme of  valuation is given in the Prospectus.

Result of the Written Test will be announced in the first week of June, 2009.Allotment of Institute shall strictly be in order or merit & rank. No group discussions or personal interviews are involved in this admission process.National Council shall arrange Counseling at State capitals where IHM/ SIHM are located. Details will be displayed /circulated later.

Applicant should have passed the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2/equivalent examination can also appear for JEE-2009, subject to the production of proof of having passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

For General/OBC/Physically Handicapped applicants, upper age limit is 22 years as on 1.7. 2009. Only those whose date of birth falls on or after 1.7.1987 are eligible. For SC/ST applicants, upper age limit is 25 years as on 1.7.2009. Only those SC / ST candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1.7.1984 are eligible. All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given in the Brochure at the time of admission. 15%, 7.5% and 18 % seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories, respectively. 3% reservation of seat shall be provided across the board for Physically Handicapped candidates.

The common Under Graduate Admission Written Test, 2009 (UG–AWT–2009) for admission to the MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing and BPT courses at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, Punjab, will be will be held on 24th May 2009 (Sunday), from 2 pm to 4.30 pm at Allahabad, Amritsar, Bathinda, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ludhiana , Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi. Applicants should report to the allotted Centre by 1.30 pm.

Applicant must be an India citizen. Persons of Indian Origin with Citizenship of other countries may apply under NRI category for which a separate prospectus is available. No other foreign national will be admitted. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2009. Those born after 31st December 1992 are not eligible to apply for admission to the Undergraduate courses starting in July 2009.

A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination.

For admission to B.Sc. Nursing and BPT course applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination should be 40%.

Candidates selected through UG AWT 2009 for MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing in any category are required to enter into a service agreement with the concerned member of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, without which admission will not be granted. Service Agreement is for a minimum period of two years after completion of the course in a hospital or in an institution managed by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society or its member Body/Church.

All those applying under Christian category should apply to one of the sponsoring agencies of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana society for sponsorship. Details are given in the Prospectus.

It is mandatory for all Christian applicants to pass the Bible Test for considering them under Christian Minority categories. If any Christian applicant fails to pass the Bible Test, they will be considered under appropriate open quotas only. Bible Test for Christian applicants will be held from 4.45 pm to 5.15 pm, on 24.5.2009 itself. All Christian applicants should remain seated after the UG–AWT–2009 till 5.20 pm.

The courses include the M.B.B.S course at Krishna Medical College, BDS at Krishna School of Dental Sciences, B.P.Th at Krishna School of Physiotherapy and the B.Sc Nursing course at Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences.

Applicant must have attained 17 years of age on or before 31.12.2009 and must have passed Std XII (HSC or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology securing minimum 50% marks (for MBBS & BDS only) & English. Those appearing at Std. XII or equivalent examination in March 2009 are also eligible to appear for KAIET 2009 subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility conditions before counseling.

Eligibility

For Test No 1:

The candidate should have passed 10th class of 10+2 system of Matric or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10th class examination, conducted by CBSE. The subjects Science, Mathematics and English are compulsory and the candidate should have passed in these three subjects without considering grace marks.

For Test No. 2:

Passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE, Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate. The subject English is compulsory for Modern office Practice (English) and the candidate should have passed in this subject without considering grace marks.

Test No. 3:

Passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE, Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate. The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modem office Practice (Hindi) and the candidate should have passed in this subject without considering grace marks.

Test No. 4:

The candidate should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE, Delhi or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of the CBSE. The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have passed in these subjects without considering grace marks. As per directions issued by Pharmacy Council of India vide their letter No.14-2/2007-PCI-13143 dated 27.12.2007, the candidates who have appeared/ passed through National Institute of Open Schooling shall not be considered for admission to this course.

For Test No. 5:

For 10 + 2 Vocational (Engg. Courses): Passed in 12th Class examination of analogous 10 + 2 Vocational Stream of CBSE or equivalent from Delhi Schools with minimum 60.00% marks in aggregate of best five subjects for which marks are reflected in the mark sheet, without considering grace marks in these best five subjects.

For ITI pass outs (Engg. Courses) : Passed NCVT/SCVT from ITIs /lTCs located in Delhi and affiliated to DGE&T/BTE, Delhi with a minimum of 60.00% marks in aggregate of all subjects reflected in the mark sheet, without considering grace marks.

Note :
(1) Students who have written the examination in 2009 and awaiting results are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to the production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification.

Note:

(3) Diploma Courses in Beauty Culture, Commercial Art, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Library Science, Civil Engineering (Public Health & Environmental Engineering) and Textile Design are only for girl candidates.
