ELIGIBILITY for the course:
            a. Invitation to pursue Ph.D. programme in specialized areas of Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore.

Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore, was founded in 1984 by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) for dedicated pursuit of R&D in the areas of Accelerators, Lasers, Plasma Physics, Cryogenics, Vacuum technology etc. Since then, the Centre has set up two Synchrotron Radiation Sources : Indus-1 & Indus-2, which are national research facilities, and many smaller accelerators for radiation processing applications. The Centre has excellent cryogenic facilities as well as state-of-the-art equipments for low temperature physics measurements. A variety of laser systems, particularly high power lasers, have been built and are being used for a wide range of applications. These include gas lasers (like copper vapor lasers, CO2 lasers), solid state lasers (like diode pumped solid state lasers and semiconductor lasers). Lasers are deployed for the studies in the areas like biomedical applications of lasers and laser-plasma interaction. The Centre also has long standing programme in the areas of RF-superconductivity, low-temperature physics, material science, cold atom physics, non-linear optics, opto-electronics, nano-science etc.

RRCAT is a Constituent Institute of the "Homi Bhabha National Institute" (HBNI), a Deemed University, and invites students with appropriate qualifications to pursue Ph.D. programme in various specialized areas of physics, chemistry and biology, listed above. As per the rules of HBNI, the Ph.D. programme consists of course work of one year duration and research work of up to 4 years duration. The Ph.D. 2011 programme will commence on Aug.1, 2011. DAE Junior Research Fellowships will be offered to those selected for the pursuit of Ph.D. The fellowship amount is 16,000 per month for the first two years and 18,000 per month for the next three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Eligibility:

Qualification :

For Physics candidates: M.Sc. degree in Physics with a minimum of 60% marks, and who have cleared Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST 2011).
For Chemistry and Life Sciences candidates: M.Sc. degree with minimum 60% marks, in Chemistry or Life Sciences, and who have cleared joint CSIR-UGC Net-June.2010 and/or Gate 2011, are eligible to apply. Candidates with M.Sc. in Botany / Agricultural science should not apply.
Those applicants who are completing M.Sc. summer of 2011 can also apply, provided they have = 60% overall marks in the completed semesters. In the event of selection, mark sheet of the final M.Sc. result would have to be submitted by November 1, 2011. Continuation in the Ph.D. programme will be subject to the candidate obtaining minimum 60% marks overall. 5 year integrated M.S. (of IISERs) will be treated at par with 5 year integrated M.Sc.

Age limit : The candidates desirous of availing DAE fellowship should be born on or after August 1, 1985. The age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants.

Nationality : Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

The candidates who have appeared earlier in RRCAT Ph.D. programme interview are not eligible for appearing again.

Selection process :

The selection of the students for the Ph.D. programme will be a two-step process: 1) Screening of short-list candidates, followed by 2) Interview of the short-listed candidates.

For Physics candidates, the short-list shall be prepared based on applicant's score in JEST 2011.

For Chemistry and Life Sciences candidates, the short-list shall be prepared based on applicant's score in CSIR-UGC Net-June 2010 and/or GATE-2011.

Short-listed Physics candidates shall be called for interview to be conducted tentatively on May 16, 17, 18 & June 20, 21, 22 2011, at RRCAT, Indore. Short-listed Chemistry and Life Sciences candidates shall be called for interview to be conducted tentatively on June 20, 21, 22, 2011. The applicant must indicate choice of their interview date in the application form, failing which they will have to appear for interview on one of the above dates assigned by RRCAT.

Outstation applicants called for interview will be paid to and fro sleeper class train fare by the shortest route or the actual fare, whichever is less. This is subject to the verification of their eligibility from the original documents before the interview.

HIHT University invites application from eligible candidates for admission into Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course offered by its Medical College (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences) for 100 seats for the Academic Year -2011 - 2012 out of which 30% seats are reserved exclusively for the domicile candidates of Uttarakhand. Scholarships to 05 (five) of the domicile candidates of Uttarakhand, who have passed their 10+2 examination from hill districts of Uttarakhand and are willing to serve the people of Uttarakhand after complettion of MBBS course, are available based on meeting the eligibility criteria of HIHT University on the subject.
 
Eligibility: Age: Only those candidates, whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December, 1994 (minimum 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2011) are eligible to apply. Only date of birth recorded int he High School/ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be accepted. The Upper Age limit shall be 25 years as on 31.12.2011.

 

Minimum Qualification: The candidates must have passed the 10+2, i.e. CBSE / ISC / Intermediate Board Examination or its equivalent, after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of such study, comprising of physics, chemistry biology/biotechnology and English from a recognized Board. The Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 50%) marks in aggregate taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology and at least 50% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 40%) marks separately in each of the above subjects in the qualifying examination. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination and whose results are not yet available, are also eligible to appear in the PMEE-2011 but such candidates should submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination on or before 15.06.2011, such candidates shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS course, if they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria.

STIPEND:
The PDPU awards stipend to the Ph. D. students as follows:
(I) (a) During the first two years' of course work: Rs. 20,000 per month (b) During the third year (after completion of the course work): Rs. 22,500 per month (c) In the fourth year: Rs. 25,000 per month
(II) In addition to the monthly stipend a doctoral student is given an annual Professional Development Assistance of Rs. 15,000 in the first year, 15,000 in the second year, Rs. 20,000 in the third year and Rs. 20,000 in the fourth year.
(III) During the final stage of the doctoral work a student is entitled to reimbursement up Rs. 1,00,000 for attending / presenting paper in conferences, publishing paper in national and international journals and for such academic pursuits.

The three national institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture will conduct a Joint Entrance Test - Agri Business Management (JET - ABM) on Sunday, March 27, 2011 for selection of candidates to their respective Post-Graduate Programmes in Agri Business Management recognized by AICTE.

Admission Procedure
Admission to PG programmes will be on the basis of the performance at the Post-Graduate and PhD Entrance Examination (PGEE 2011) and an interview to be held at Hyderabad.

How to Apply
All applications should be submitted online in PGEE portal To submit the application, a candidate has to complete two registration forms: Pre-Registration Form and Main Registration Form.
Filling of Pre-Registration Form.
After filling the Pre-Registration form, the candidate receives an E-Mail which contains the link and identification code. The link should be opened in a browser by supplying the identification code to fill in the Main Registration Form.
Filling of Main Registration Form.

The main registration form can only be filled by opening the link received through the E-Mail, after filling in the preceeding pre-registration form.

About Application Fees:
1. Applicants can apply for one or more programmes in the same form by indicating choices.

2. The application fee is Rs 1000/- for one programme and Rs. 50/- extra for each additional programme applied for.

3. Application fee can be paid either through Credit Card or through Demand Draft.
Credit Card - While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Credit Card option follow the subsequent instruction.
Demand Draft- While filling-in the Main Registration form, the candidate can opt for Demand Draft option. After submitting the Main Registration form. Demand Draft in favor of IIIT, Hyderabad for appropriate amount should be drawn. A candidate must write application number (received in the confirmation mail) along with the name on the reverse side of the demand draft and send the same to the Chairman, PG Admissions, IIIT, Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500032, Andhra Pradesh.

ICAR's 16th ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO BACHELOR (AIEEA-UG-2011) AND MASTER (AIEEA-PG-2011) DEGREE PROGRAMS IN AGRICULTURE AND ALLIED SCIENCES AT AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES FOR 2011-12.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites applications from Indian Nationals, in the prescribed format, for ICAR's 16th AIEEA-UG-2011 and AIEEA-PG-2011 on 100% seats at ICAR-Deemed Universities (Bachelor degree at NDRI Karnal only while Master degrees at IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE), and on 15% seats (tentative) for Bachelor degrees and 25% seats (tentative) for Master degrees at State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural University Imphal, Central Universities with Agricultural Faculty (Banaras Hindu University, Viswa Bharati, Nagaland University and Aligarh Muslim University (for PG only)) and SHIATS Allahabad for the academic session 2011-12.

Bachelor Degree programmes (viz BSc / BTech / BFSc etc) are in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries Sciences, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing, Banking & Co-operation, and Commercial Agriculture & Business Management.
Master's Degree programmes are in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri. Engineering, Home Science, Biotechnology, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Veterinary, and allied sciences. Based on the results of AIEEA-UG-2011 examination, National Talent Scholarships(NTS) are awarded to Bachelor degree students whereas based on the merit-rank in AIEEA-PG-2011 examination, 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships(JRF) are awarded to Master's degree students. (This examination does not include admission to Bachelor degree programmes in Veterinary Sciences.) Additional details can be seen in the respective Information Bulletins.
 
Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age:
For AIEEA-UG-2011: Between 17 and 23 years as on 31st August 2011. (UG Examination) (must have been born between 01.09.1988 to 01.09.1994).
For AIEEA-PG-2011: Not less than 19 years as on 31st August 2011. (PG Examination) (must not have been born after 01.09.1992)

2. Qualifying Examination:
2.1. For AIEEA-UG-2011:
Must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks in aggregate for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories or 40% marks in aggregate for admission under SC, ST and PH categories in 10+2 examination or equivalent/Inter (Agriculture) with PCM/ PCB/ PCMB/ PCA/ PCH subject combinations. Candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible. Candidate appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but shall produce 10+2 pass certificate with required % marks at the time of counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.

2.2. For AIEEA-PG-2011:
Bachelor's degree (or appearing in final year examination), in the field of Agriculture,
Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 years degree programmes, (Few seats are also available for candidates having Bachelor degree with 10+2+3 year degree programme) with required Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 6.60/10, 3.25/5, 2.60/4 for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) categories the said requirement is an OGPA of 5.60/10, 2.75/5, 2.20/4 respectively. In other cases, where grade points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks (Equivalence between OGPA and % marks will not be acceptable). For admission in MVSc candidate must have completed BVSc & AH including internship on the date of counseling. The in-service candidates, seeking admission to ICAR-Deemed universities, should see their respective website.

3. National Talent Scholarship (NTS) is awarded to candidates selected through AIEEA-UG-2011 examination and if joining an Agricultural University located outside their state of domicile.

4. ICAR-JRF (Post Graduate Studies) (PGS): Based on the merit in the AIEEA-PG-2011
examination, about 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships for postgraduate studies (ICARJRF (PGS)) in 20 major subject groups are awarded for two years in Agricultural Universities including State Agricultural Universities, CAU and CUs with agriculture faculty, SHIATS Allahabad and ICAR-DUs, provided their Bachelor degree is not from the same AU (except NDRI Karnal) and the candidates take admission outside their State of domicile. Candidates, currently studying for their Master's degree in 1st year, can also appear in AIEEA-PG-2011 examination for securing ICARJRF(PGS). However, if a ICAR-JRF(PGS) holder seeks fresh admission, entire amount of fellowship received by him/her shall have to be refunded with interest and he/she will not be entitled for fresh ICAR-JRF(PGS).

5. Reservation: 15% seats in all subjects are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Horizontal reservation of 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for Under-Privileged States (UPS) category is also available. Reservation for OBC in Central Educational Institutions/ Universities will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules. Reservation in PH and UPS categories will be horizontal across all categories, i.e. such candidates would draw their seat from the SC/ST/OBC/GEN categories to which they may belong.

6. Question Paper for AIEEA-UG-2011:
There will be only one question paper consisting of 180 multiple-choice objective type questions, in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) for "STREAM–A" and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for "STREAM–B". The question paper will be in ENGLISH and HINDI.

7. Question Paper for AIEEA-PG-2011:
There will be only one question paper in each major subject group consisting of 150 multiple-choice, objective type questions, and also 10 cross-matching type questions.

Veterinary Council of India invites applications for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu& Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of BVSc & AH course for academic session 2011-2012.

Note: - Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
 
Date and Venue of Examination: Saturday, the 14th May, 2011 (time 2.00 to 5.00 PM)

Duration of Course: The duration of BVSc & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.
 
Eligibility: An applicant is eligible for admission to the AIPVT if the following criteria are met with: -

Nationality:   He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Nonjudicial Stamp Paper of Rs 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: - They are not eligible to compete for BVSc & AH seats in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and They are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note: Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. Such Affidavits submitted by the candidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.

Essential Qualification: He/ She has passed:-

1. The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

OR

2. The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks: To be eligible for AIPVT, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for AIPVT the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

Note: - A candidate who is taking the qualifying examination prior to the AIPVT, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the BVSc & AH programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc and AH) Regulations, 2008 on or before 30th June, 2011 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

II In pursuance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 10.4.2008 and according to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development video MNO 1-1/2005-UIA/847 dated 20.4.2008 it has been decided to implement OBC reservation in respect of seats being contributed to the All India Quota by the Central Education Institutions only.

Age: He / She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2011. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2012 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.

Sale counter of bank/ State Veterinary Councils will not send the Information Bulletin by post. Hence, no request should be made to the bank/ State Veterinary Councils for sending the Information Bulletin and Application Form by post.

The specified branches of Vijaya Bank and the State Veterinary Councils shall not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms from Bank / aforesaid designated centres. In case, copies of Application Forms are sold out before the last date at any of the branches and the same are not available with Vijaya Bank/Designated centres of Council, the candidate should get the same from the office of the Veterinary Council of India, "A" Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji CamaPlace, New Delhi-66 by sending Demand Draft as stated above. The request along with Demand Draft should reach office of Council on or before 15th February, 2011.

No correspondence regarding purchase of Information Bulletin and Application Form will be entertained after closing date of sale. General/OBC candidates applying on Forms meant for SC/ST category shall be rejected.


ONLINE:
Online submission of application may be made by accessing Council website www.vci-india.in from 03.01.2011 (10.00 AM) to 15.02.2011 (5.00 PM). Candidates are required to take a print Of the Online application after successful submission of data. The printout of the computer generated application .complete in all respect as applicable for Offline submission should be sent to the Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, 'A' Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi -110066 by speed Post/ Registered Post only. Fee of Rs 800/-for General/OBC Category Candidates and Rs 400/- for the SC/ST Category candidates may be remitted through a Demand Draft in favour of the "Veterinary Council of India -Examination Fund, payable at New Delhi" drawn on any Scheduled Bank.
 
LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION (OFFLINE AND ONLINE):

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier technical institutions of national repute, fully funded by Government of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different IT Firms in India and abroad which has a high job potential in IT Sector. NIMCET 2011-2012 is a national level entrance test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA programme. The admission to first year of MCA prgoramme, offered by NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal, for the year 2011-2012 will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET2011 ONLY. Candidate's score and rank based on NIMCET 2011-2012 entrance examination is valid for admission to MCA course of participating NIT's for 2011-2012 session only. NIMCET 2011-2012 examination is scheduled on 15th May 2011 from 10.00 AM to 12.00 noon at the various test centers.
 
Eligibility:
Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC/ST) in each of the examinations of
12th level with Mathematics and
Bachelor's Degree of full time 3 year duration from a recognized University with any one of the following as one of the subjects

Business Statistics
Computational Mathematics
Elementary Mathematics
Elementary Statistics

Those who have done Bridge Course in Mathematics are also eligible to apply. The percentages of marks for (i) and (ii) given above are to be calculated on the basis of method used by respective Board / University. Students completing degree from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their course is approved by UGC/AICTE / Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET2011. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET2011 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 31st August, 2011, failing which, their admission may be cancelled by the respective NITs. State quota is applicable only for the state of Tamil Nadu .Candidate passed / appeared for qualifying exam from Tamil Nadu will be eligible for Tamil Nadu State Quota of NIT – Trichurapalli. For all other NIT's only all India quota is applicable.
 
How To Apply:
MODE OF EXAMINATION:-

NIMCET2011 examination will be of two hours and question paper will consist of 120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question in Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and black ball point pen. Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadget are not allowed in the examination hall.

WEB ENABLED ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM:-
Eligible candidates are required to fill in web enabled on-line application form from any place of their convenience. Candidates are required to create user login Id and password for themselves and should use the same as and when required. Candidates are not permitted to create multiple Ids' in any case. If there is any problem in login creation then candidate are required to contact Secretary NIMCET 2011.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates are required to read the instructions carefully before filling the online application form (See Page 13). They are also required to take a print out of the online filled in online application form and send it by speed post along with copies of mark sheets of Matriculation, High School and Graduation and a demand draft of Rs 1500/- for open /OBC and Rs 750/- for SC/ST candidates in favor of "NIMCET2011" payable at SBI, MANIT Branch Bhopal at the following address so as to reach on or before Monday, April 11, 2011.

No separate Score Card will be sent to the candidates. Candidate's score and rank based on NIMCET2011 is valid for admission to MCA course to the Participating Institutes for 2011-2012 session only.
