The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) offers fellowships to scholars to pursue research in

(i) Modem Indian History and Contemporary Studies
(ii) Perspectives in Indian Development (social, economic and cultural) and
(iii) India and Changing Trends in World Economy and Polity.

The fellowships are offered at three levels:
Junior Fellow,
Fellow and
Senior Fellow.

The emoluments, including allowances, will correspond to that of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Central Universities, respectively .

CPF/GPF facilities will be extended only to scholars having permanent jobs who take up the fellowship after taking leave without pay from their parent departments. Fellowships offered are for a duration of two years only. Fellows will be based in Delhi except for a maximum of five fellows who may be permitted by the Selection Committee to be based outside Delhi.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Senior Fellow: Scholars of eminence who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge in their respective fields and preferably have experience of conducting and guiding research.

Fellow: Good Academic record, a Ph.D. or equivalent published work and at least five years teaching/ post doctoral research experience.

Junior Fellow: These positions are open to candidates with a good academic record and/or scholarly publications, and preferably a Ph.D. degree.

Interested scholars are requested to send an application along with a note of about 2,000 words on the proposed project to be undertaken with the following information in an envelope clearly marked "Application for Fellowship" to the Director, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library,Teen Murti House, New Delhi-110011.

25 general category BTech seats vacant at Cusat

After the spot counselling on Thursday, a total of 25 general category seats remain vacant for Cusat BTech admission this year. Nearly 60 NRI category seats too remain vacant at the varsity.
The university now proposes to hold spot counselling for all candidates with a valid CAT Rank, including those who have not registered their options this year, for the remaining vacancies on September 24. Spot counselling for candidates who have applied online for NRI spot admission will be done on September 26. Candidates coming for this admission should bring the print out of their online application form with the signature of the candidate and the parent.
If there are still vacancies , another spot counselling will be held on September 28, which will be the last spot counselling. CAT score will not be the basis of this admission. All candidates who have secured 50 percent marks for mathematics and 50 percent for mathematics, physics and chemistry put together at Plus Two level will be eligible to appear for this spot counselling.
Points to remember:
Interested candidates who are already admitted in CUSAT can also attend the spot counseling scheduled above.
Candidates attending the above counseling should report before 10:00 AM. Registration will be closed at 10:00 AM sharp. Candidates reporting after 10:00AM will not be considered under any circumstance.
If allotted, Candidate should submit all the documents in original and should pay the required fees in full for confirming their admission.
No refund of fee will be made for cancellations done after 28/09/2011.
Candidates admitted through spot counseling will not be updated to other branches.

Eligibility
Candidates can apply and appear for the TISS National Entrance Test for a maximum of three programmes.

(a) A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline. OR


(b) Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 9, 2012, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes (except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies) provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. Candidates applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary) programme should complete all the requirements by May 11, 2012. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.


(c) Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have a (i) Master’s degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.


(d) Candidates applying for the Master of Health Administration andHospital Administration should have (i) successfully completed their graduate degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.


(e) Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s degree programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s degree programmes conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration, Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy,Economics and Finance.


(f) Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practiceshould have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

The 4th Radio Astronomy Winter School for College & University Students (RAWSE-2011) will be held at Radio Physics Laboratory (RPL), a joint initiative of inter-university centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA) and National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), during December 26, 2011 - January 2012 at Pune.
WHO CAN APPLY: Under Graduate and Graduate students in Science (those enrolled in B.Sc or M.Sc Physics/Electronics/Astronomy) and Engineering (BE/B.Tech). Bright and highly motivated high school/junior college students, involved in amateur astronomy are also encouraged to apply.
HOW TO APPLY: There are TWO steps in the application procedure. Candidates must first register by entering their name and e-mail address in the appropriate registration boxes at http://wm.ncra.tifr.res.in:8080/RAWS2011/candidate/ApplyOnline.ncra.

Distribution of seats

(iii) Diploma holders of Polytechnics outside Gujarat State.

The weightage of experience shall be 1.5% per every year of recognized experience beyond two years subject to a maximum of 15%. (Apprentice experience will not be considered).However, two percent of marks will be deducted for every additional attempt to pass any of the last two semesters/Final Year of the Diploma Course for the purpose of calculation of percentage of marks for determining the merit for admission.

Reservation of seats will be as per the rules of Government of Gujarat.


Enrolment/Eligibility Certificate: Students who have passed the Diploma Examination held by the M.S. University of Baroda are required to produce Enrolment Certificate number at the time of interview. Students coming from other Universities/ Boards are required to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate which can be had from the Registrar, The M. S. Candidates desiring to register for M.L. Degree Course for private appearance shall
register on or before 30th OCTOBER 2011 in the prescribed application form together with the prescribed fee of Rs.15,000/- in the form of Demand Draft, drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Madras along with B.L./L.L.B./Provisional/ Degree Certificate in original and Photo copies of Certificates(attested by Gazetted Officer).

In case of candidates who have qualified for B.L/L.L.B., Degree from other than University of Madras should pay a Recognition fee of Rs.250/- and Matricula fee of Rs.50/- as the case may be in addition to the above fees.
