For admission to all the Integrated First Degree programmes, applicants should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with adequate proficiency in English. Except for admission to B.Pharm.(Hons.) the applicants should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. For admission to B.Pharm.(Hons.), candidates should have Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics as subjects.

Candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology.

Those, who have appeared in BITSAT-2014 and are interested in admissions, should submit application forms with marks of Class 12 and programme preferences, before 30th June 2014, online. Online application is to be submitted at http://bitsadmission.com/fd/.  

The form will have three parts. Part I will display the personal details of the applicant. Part II will require the student to fill in the marks of Class 12, subject wise. Part III will require the candidates to fill in the choices of Programmes in the order of preference. A remittance of Rs250/- will have to be made. Application fee can be paid in one of the different modes available.

Applicant should take a printout of this challan, sign at the designated places and take this challan to any of the ICICI Bank branches and remit the amount in cash. The bank will note down a bank transaction no on the challan, sign and stamp at two parts of the challan. The bank will keep the ‘Bank copy’ part of the challan for their records and return the ‘Student Copy’ to the applicant. Applicant should keep the student copy with him/her for records. Applicant should attach a photocopy of the same along with the printout of the application form to be sent to BITS.

The filled form along with the prescribed fees of Rs.250/- and other enclosures are to reach Dean, Admissions, BITS, Pilani -333031, by 5 pm on 30th June 2014.

Candidates have to fill only a single application form for seeking admission to all the degree programmes offered at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. The candidate’s order of preference for different programmes offered at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses of the Institute is processed through computer software and the offers are made accordingly. This may take a few iterations and at each stage, the status is made available to the candidates at the Institute’s website www.bitsadmission.com.

The merit position of all eligible candidates (those who have appeared in BITSAT-2014 and have submitted application form for admission in the prescribed format with 12th marks, preferences and the required fees) will be prepared on the basis of their total scores in BITSAT-2014. When the BITSAT score of two candidates are the same, those with higher score in Mathematics/Biology in BITSAT will be placed higher in rank. If the tie still exists, then their scores in Physics in BITSAT will be considered for separating them. Further tie is eliminated using their scores in Chemistry in BITSAT. Finally, their PCM total marks in 12th examination will be considered for their separation.

Dual degree for students of M.Sc. (Hons.) programmes: To meet the ambitions of the students who could not get admission to B.E. (Hons.) programmes, the Institute has created facilities by which any student who is admitted to M.Sc. (Hons.) programmes is accommodated in a dual degree scheme for a second degree in B.E.(Hons.) programmes. This assignment is made by competition on their performance at BITS at the end of first year, separately in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Requirements of both the degrees are structured to be completed normally in five years. There will be restriction on the availability of flexibility such as transfer and dual degree allotment for students admitted to B. Pharm. (Hons.) programme with PCB input. Since all the first degree programmes other than B. Pharm. (Hons.) programme requires PCM input, no transfer/dual degree allotment is possible with PCB input.

Direct admission to Board toppers: To be eligible for admission under the 'Direct admission to Board toppers' scheme, the candidate should be the topper from the science stream having taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects in 12th standard.

To identify the topper in PCM Group, the following criteria will be adopted. The topper is the student who (a) has taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 12th and (b) has obtained the highest aggregate percentage of marks in 12th among all the students who have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in 2014 from the Board. For the purpose of calculating the aggregate percentage, the aggregate marks should include the marks of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in addition to other subjects which are required to pass the 12th examination from the Board under consideration. Further, the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subject marks should be included in the aggregate, irrespective of whether the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects are identified as main/optional/elective in his mark-sheet(s).

In the case of first rank candidate of Physics, Chemistry, Biology stream, the criteria is same as above, replacing the word ‘Mathematics’ with ‘Biology’ in the above paragraph. However, the first rank holder of PCB stream will be considered for admission to B. Pharm. (Hons.) programme only.

Applicants under the scheme should attach documentary proof in support of their claim, along with the 12th mark sheet and a letter from the Board declaring the candidate as the topper in the specified stream. Applications have been invited for admission to the various UG and PG Programmes offered at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, under Sports Authority of India and affiliated to the University of Kerala.

The Courses offered at LNCPE include, Bachelor of Physical Education, Master of Physical Education, Master of Philosophy (Physical Education) and Post Graduate Diploma in Health & Fitness Management.
For admission to the Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) of 4 years duration, applicant must have passed Plus Two with the prescribed marks and should be of age below 21 years as on 1st July 2014.

For Master of Physical Education (MPE-2 years), eligibility is BPE/BPEd with 50% marks, with age below 25 years as on 1st July 2014.

For admission to Master of Philosophy (Physical Education) (M Phil -1 year), eligibility is MPE/MPEd or any equivalent degree in Physical Education with 55% marks from Kerala / any Recognized University
For admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Health & Fitness Management (PGDHFM -1 year) applicant should hold BPE/BPEd with 50% marks with age 30 years or less as on 1st July 2014. This course will be conducted only if at least ten candidates qualify in the admission test.

The college is co-educational and admits both men and women students from all over India and abroad. The seats for admission to various courses are as follows. (i) B.P.Ed- 50 (30 Men & 20 Women) (ii) M.P.E- 25 (iii) M.Phil- 6 (iv) P.G.D.H.F.M-20

Application has to be made in the prescribed form attached with the Prospectus. Applications complete in all respects and accompanied by necessary certificates and testimonials (photocopied, certified copies) must reach the college office latest by 5 pm on 9th June 2014 for all courses.

Those who have appeared in any of the qualifying examinations, but whose results are awaited may also apply. However, they will have to produce pass certificate before the date stipulated by the college.

Selection to the Programmes will be based on Admission Tests. Details of the Admission Tests for each Programme are given in the Prospectus that can be downloaded from the admission link at http://lncpe.gov.in.  

Admission tests will be conducted simultaneously in Gandhinagar, Imphal, Kolkata & Trivandrum for BPEd & MPE, but only at Trivandrum for PG Diploma in Health And Fitness Management & M.Phil.
All eligible candidates, whether or not they receive the interview call-card in time, may report for admission test on the date and time given below. They are advised to look up the College website from time to time.

The candidates selected should undergo medical test at Medical Centre, LNCPE, Trivandrum and those who clear the medical test should deposit all fees by Wednesday, 30.07.14 failing which, candidates from the waiting list will be called for admission.

In case of Women applicants, only unmarried women, widows or divorcees without encumbrances will be admitted to BPEd course. If a woman student admitted to BPEd course gets married and is found medically unsuitable at any stage of the course, she will have to discontinue the course. Married women are eligible for admission to post graduate courses, but if a woman candidate admitted to this course reaches the stage of expectancy during the course, she may have to discontinue her studies for a minimum period of one year.

On completion of the course, the graduates will be well qualified for appointment as Physical Education Teachers in schools, and post-graduates as Directors of Physical Education in Colleges and Universities. However, both will find ample avenues to act as supervisors, administrators, recreation and fitness leaders in industrial and commercial establishments, clubs and other agencies which are actively engaged in the promotion of physical fitness, sports, health and recreation as well as performance in sports and games.

All students have to reside in the college hostels. They are required to take their meals in the college mess, where both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are provided.

CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.TECH. & B.ARCH COURSES
Nationality: Candidates must be Citizens of India.

Academic Requirements:  Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least Fifty percent marks in Mathematics separately and Fifty percent marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade.

Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2014. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

Entrance Exam: Candidates should qualify in the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala.

Seats: Mode of selection and admissions are given in the prospectus. Seats are provided for christian community including Latin Catholic & Dalit Christian candidates in addition to Open Merit.

HOW TO APPLY: The Common Prospectus along with application form can be obtained from the respective member college on payment of Rs. 500 (Rs. Five hundred only) The Application shall be submitted as detailed below:

(1) Separate application forms shall be submitted to each college and the candidate is free to apply to as many colleges as needed. Application form issued by one college cannot be used for applying in another college. Candidates may use any one of the following method to submit the application form according to the provisions given by the respective colleges.
(a) Applications can be submitted on the pre-printed forms available with the prospectus from the colleges or,
(b) Application forms can be downloaded from the website of the respective member institutions. Such applications have to be submitted along with a DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of the respective college, or,
(c) Application forms can be submitted online on the website of the some of the colleges which have provision for the same. After submission a printout of the application alongwith copies of documents affixing the photograph & signature and DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of respective colleges shall be submitted.

The duly filled in application along with self attested copies of necessary documents shall be submitted directly or by registered post with A/D to the respective college so as to reach there on or before the prescribed date. The candidate should fill in all the items in the Application Form in his / her own handwriting.

Two Copies of Certificates/Documents listed bellow, attested by a gazette officer/Head of the Institution last attended shall be submitted along with the application.
a) 10th / 12th certificate in proof of the date of birth
b) Admit card of the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination
c) Mark list of qualifying examination and entrance examination
d) Certificate of good conduct from the institution last attended issued within six months from the date of application.
e) In cases where the candidates claim any sort of reservation or special consideration or scholarships, documents to prove such claims.
f) Certificate from Parish Priest for consideration in the community merit and for the benefit of weightage/preference of membership in any Diocese.

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:
Preparation of Merit list and Allotment of Seats:
Subject to any orders that may be passed by the Courts, admission will be on the basis of merit only by adding marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by state Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and the marks obtained for Mathematics, and Physics in the qualifying examination. The marks will be apportioned in the ratio of 50:50. The marks obtained for the qualifying exam will be subjected to the normalization process.
