The process of online registration shall commence on 1st June 2011 and will continue till 15th June 2011. Eligibility Criteria:

Only candidates born on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic.


Candidates must be Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) studying in any country (including India) / Indian Nationals studying abroad. In case of Indian Nationals studying abroad they must have had at least 3 (three) years of education in a Foreign country during the last 6 (six) years and must pass the qualifying examination (inclusive of 11th and 12th standard or equivalent) from abroad only.


Students who have secured 60% aggregate marks or 6.75CGPA on a 10 point grade or equivalent grades in all subjects of qualifying examination i.e. senior secondary [10+2] or equivalent and have a valid SAT Subject Test (earlier known as SAT II) score (in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics level -II) with a minimum score of 1800 are eligible.

Applications have been invited for the award of Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund scholarships for the year 2011. The scholarships are available to the following categories of persons:
A) Indian Nationals for PhD. study in India; and
B) Nationals of other Asian countries for PhD. study in India.

Eligibility:

A candidate will be eligible for SSCET 2011 and for selection/admission to a course In Superspeciality of M.Ch. (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery) by fulfilling following conditions:

1. The candidate must be an Indian national.
2. The candidate must be medically fit.

3. The candidate must possess recognized postgraduate degree MS - General Surgery from a medical college recognized by MCI. The candidates who have appeared and completed MS - General Surgery or equivalent examination recognized by MCI are also eligible to submit application forms. However, they will be considered for selection, on production of passing certificate on the date of counseling.

4. State Medical Council / MCI registration is a precondition for appearing for SSCET 2011 and its proof should be submitted.

ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES
Fifteen percent supernumerary seats shall be reserved in the P. G. Departments for international students including Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) out of which 5% shall be filled in by the children of the NRIs. These seats shall be exclusively meant for foreign students and under no circumstances any of the seats should be allocated to anyone else other than a foreign student (having a foreign passport).
No candidate from a foreign country will be considered for admission unless his/her case has been sponsored by the relevant Department/Ministry, Government of India. The sponsored candidates will be required to submit in the prescribed proforma a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner not below the rank of CDMO within a month of their provisional admission, besides such other documents as are required under the rules/instructions of the Government of ndia/Orissa.
Foreign students who have passed the qualifying examination from a foreign country taking admission in the departments have to pay Rs. 10,000/- along with other fees for the entire course. Further, a foreign student passing the qualifying examination from any Indian/Foreign University will have to come through the Admission Test/Admission Rules.

CONCESSIONS FOR THE WARDS OF KASHMIRI MIGRANT
For the wards of Kashmiri migrants the following concessions are extended:
i) Extension in date of admission by about 30 days.
ii) Relaxation in cut off percentage up to 10%, subject to minimum eligibility requirement.
iii) Increase in the intake capacity upto 5% course-wise.
iv) Waiving of domicile requirement.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
Any person who has passed the qualifying degree examination of Berhampur University, or any other examination conducted by other Universities/Institutions which is recognized as equivalent thereto by Berhampur University fulfilling the following eligibility criteria shall be eligible for admission:

Departments of the University (unless otherwise specified in the Regulations).
ii. For admission into M.A. (IR & PM and Mass Communication)
Any person who has passed the qualifying degree examination with a minimum of 45 % of
marks in aggregate or in honours in any subject (a minimum of 40% of marks in the aggregate or a minimum of 45% of marks in honours in any subject for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).


For admission into LL.M.:
Any person who has passed the LL.B. Examination with a minimum of 55% of marks in
aggregate for general category and a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.


For Diploma Courses:
i. For admission into DTIM:
Any person who has passed M.A. (History/Archaeology/ Indian Culture) with a minimum of 48% of marks in the aggregate.
ii. For admission into DRL:
Any person who has passed the qualifying degree examination with a minimum of 45 % of
marks in aggregate or in honours in any subject (a minimum of 40% of marks in the aggregate or a minimum of 45% of marks in honours in any subject for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).
(D) Other Criteria :
(a) For candidates who have passed more than one qualifying examination, the examination in which they have secured the highest marks shall be considered for determining eligibility. The details of qualifying examinations and other requirements that a candidate has to satisfy while seeking admission into various courses are given in the specified table.
(b) A candidate appearing at the qualifying degree examination may be permitted to appear at the Admission Test (wherever applicable) for admission into P.G. Courses. But his/her selection for admission will be subject to the submission of the mark-sheet and provisional certificate of the qualifying examination to the concerned Head of the Department on or before May 24, 2011.

(c) A Master degree holder of this University or of any other University in India or abroad shall not be considered for admission into M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. Courses of this university except for admission into M.Sc. (Electronic Science), Law (LL.M.), D.T.I.M., and D.R.L. Courses.
(d) A student who has already completed a Post Graduate Course in a subject but either did not appear at the concerned examination for whatever reason or failed in the said examination shall not be considered for admission into any M. A., M. Sc., M. Com courses of the P. G. Departments except M.Sc. (Electronic Science), Law (LL.M.), D.T.I.M., and D.R.L. courses.

(e) If an applicant has been a student of a course in any Department of this University, he / she will not be considered for admission for the same course of this university.

UG Programme in Interior Design Admissions 2011

The Faculty of Design under the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), a leading institution offering Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes in the areas of Natural and Built Environment and related disciplines has notified the admission to the Bachelor’s Programmes of five years duration in Interior Design leading to the award of Bachelor of Interior Design.

Candidates passing XII Standard Higher Secondary Certificate Examination of Gujarat State in Science Stream (or its equivalent) CBSE / ICSE / IB) with Physics, Mathematics/Biology & English as compulsory subjects along with any of (a) Chemistry (b) Biology (c) Computer Science (d) Engineering Drawing (all at higher/advance level), securing a minimum aggregate score of 50% for all subjects (45% for SEBC/SC/ST candidates). Candidates awaiting HSC result may apply. They have to produce a certificate from the Principal of the High School that he/she has appeared in the XII Standard examination of the Science Stream. The candidate must submit final mark sheet & satisfy minimum requirements failing which admission will not be granted. In all the cases the aggregate will be calculated based on all the subjects including Languages, Optional & Practical etc.

Those who have failed in any subject are not eligible. Those who have applied for verification / reassessment of their marks must submit verification slip at the time of application. Their revised marks if applicable will be considered subject to the production of reassessed / rechecked results latest by 4 pm on 13th June, 2011 (Monday).

Applicants having equivalent qualifications other than that stated above will have to submit along with the application, an attested copy of equivalence certificate.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Selection to the Programme will be based on the merit in the Admission Test to be held in two stages and the aggregate of HSC marks with appropriate weightages for the different components. The major basis for admission will be the performance at the admission tests to be conducted at Ahmedabad only. All have to take the test and qualify Admission Tests will be held in two levels. All eligible candidates will be allowed to appear at the first level test to be held on 20.6.2011 (Monday), in two sessions with the first session between 10 am and 2 pm and the second between 3 pm and 6 pm. The test will be an assessment of Imagination & Design Exposure, Creativity and Perception, Visual Perception & Logic. Applicants are expected to report for the Test at 9 am. Results of Stage I test will be announced on 23.6.2011 (Thursday).

Candidates must bring with them, all drawing & sketching materials such as pencils, eraser, pastel & other colour, model making tools such as paper cutter, pair of scissors, etc. for aptitude tests.

Approximately 120 candidates selected on the basis of the merit list of the first level test will be called in for second level test which is in the form of the personal interview. Interviews are held on campus to assess Motivation, interest to pursue academic programme in Interior Design, exposure to built environment and participation in the extra curricular activities. Applicants may bring original transcripts, certificates of merit as well as certificates of extra curricular activities along with them at the time of the interview. Portfolios of representative work are not required. Stage II Interview will be on 24.6.2011/25.6.2011 (Friday/Saturday), from 8 am onwards. The Merit List will be published at 5 pm on 27.6.2011 (Monday)

The final merit order would be based on weightage of 60% for First Level, 10% for second Level and 30% for HSC Aggregate. There are 30 seats for the course. Allotment of seats for various categories of reservations will be placed on Notice Board as per rules before Admission Tests.

The filed application has to be accompanied by attested copies of (i) HSC or Equivalent Mark sheet (ii) School Leaving Certificate (iii) A certificate from the High School Principal stating that he/ she has appeared at the XII standard examination (Science Stream). SEBC candidates must produce ‘not forming part of the creamy layer’ certificate of the ‘current year’, issued by the competent authorities only.

Certificates in original must be produced at the time of offer of admission/registration dates specified. Reservation as per the Gujarat Government norms laid down from time to time applies. If candidates in reserve categories are not available their seats will be converted to General Category.

Fees structure will be put up in the notice board on the day of admission. 2.5% of the intake capacity is awarded free ships as per the Gujarat Govt. norms. CEPT University shall make efforts to arrange for loan / scholarship / assistance, in respect of those candidates having financial constraints, if admitted.

After the candidate is offered admission and the candidate has paid he fees, the candidate is expected to do the following.

(i) Get medically examined by a qualified medical practitioner whose report will have to be submitted in the prescribed form, which will be issued to you along with the letter of admission

National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) a premier Research Institute under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (an autonomous Organization under Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India), proposes to appoint talented academics and researchers under the Scheme ‘Quick Recruitment of Scientists (Fellows) for Major Research Projects’ tenable at NGRI, Hyderabad. Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following positions from bright and eligible Indian Nationals with excellent and consistent academic record, a high degree of motivation and propose to take up research in Earth Science as a career.

The applicants should have a proven record of independent research as demonstrated by publications and / or other professional accomplishments.

Selection Procedure
The candidates will be required to make a formal presentation on their work and future plans at an Institute colloquium. This will be followed by an interview by a duly constituted Selection Committee.

Candidates selected for Scientist (FELLOW) positions shall be paid (i) House Rent
Allowance on the basis of the emoluments fixed, if official accommodation is not provided (ii)
Medical facilities/benefits as made applicable to CSIR-NGRI Scientists will be extended (iii) will be entitled for 30 days (15+15) leave as prescribed under CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972 and orders thereon from time to time.

4. Application duly filled in and duly supported by attested copies of all relevant Certificates including Community Certificate (in the case of SC/ST/OBC candidates), appropriate Certificate issued by the competent authority in case of physically challenged candidates, passport size photograph of the individual should be sent so as to reach the Controller of Administration on or before 27/05/2011.
5. Applications not accompanied by the relevant attested copies of certificates including semester-wise Memorandum of Marks sheet(s) will be summarily rejected.
6. Incomplete and unsigned applications as well as those received after the last date i.e.27/05/2011 will not be considered.
7. A lower standard of suitability consistent with efficiency will be applied in the interview in respect of SC/ST candidates.
8. Mere fulfilling the essential educational qualifications and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview. The applications will be short-listed and the decision of the Institute will be final.
9.
