For For Ph.D Programme in Physical, Chemical & Biological Sciences: In line with the current rules Rs 16,000 per month for the first two years as a JRF. Thereafter, upon meeting the eligibility criteria of the Centre, the students will be inducted as SRF with a monthly stipend of Rs. 18000/- .
Selection Procedure: A written test (BOSE TEST 2012) will be conducted by SNBNCBS on Sunday, the 4th March 2012 at different Centres throughout the Country and the successful candidates will be considered for interview.

Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship

Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship


Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the award of Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship (only one fellowship) which the Government of the India Instituted at St. Antony’s College, Oxford (UK). The Fellowship is tenable for one year in the first instance, which can be extended by one year more on the basis of performance of the candidate. The fellowship carries an amount of £ 27,603/- per annum.

DETAILS OF FELLOWSHIP:
(1) The candidate is eligible for Economy Class air passage (both ways). Only spouse of the selected candidate will be provided Economy Class Air-fare provided he/she stays in UK with the scholar for a continuous period of one year. (As the fellowship amount is sufficient for only one person, the candidate will have to meet the expenditure on maintenance of spouse).

(2) The Fellowship is meant for scholars who have specialized in Modern Indian Studies in the subject fields of History, Economics and Political Science. Candidates should have uniformly brilliant academic record with 60% (at least) in Post graduation and a PhD degree in the subject-field chosen or published works of equivalent merit, which have received outstanding recognition. Where only grades are awarded, the candidates are required to furnish exact percentage of marks and also indicate the conversion formula. The candidates applying for the Fellowship should keep in mind that this Fellowship is intended to be for a young scholar, who is bent on pursuing an academic career and whose status would be comparable to that of a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years teaching experience at Graduate / Postgraduate level after completing PhD as on 24.02.2012.

AGE: Candidate should be between the age of 30 to 40 years, as on 24.02.2012.

(3) Candidates should apply for the above Fellowship on plain paper in the prescribed proforma given in the website with one recent passport size photograph furnishing the requisite details / particulars to the Section Officer (ES.4 Section), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, West Block-1, Wing-6, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110 066 by 24.02.2012 (Friday at 5:30 PM) The application received after the last date, will not be entertained.

(4) Mere fulfilment of Minimum requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for interview. Interview letters are sent only to a limited number of candidates after their applications are scrutinized by the Committee.

(5) Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of all Certificates regarding date of birth, qualification, mark-sheets in respect of all the Examinations passed along with experience certificate of Employment and one copy of recently taken passport size photograph, with signature, to be pasted on the application form.

(6) Equivalent foreign degrees and diplomas are acceptable but the proof of equivalence should be furnished (Certified by the Competent Authority).

(7) Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/ training/ specialization either on Scholarship or on their own for a period exceeding 6 months are eligible to apply provided they have been in India for at least 3 consecutive years after returning from abroad. Candidates residing abroad are not eligible.

(8) While indicating the period of past experience and stay abroad, candidates should mention the specific dates.

(9) The candidate must have completed tertiary Education in English Medium only.

(10) As the Fellowship is administered in UK, the applications should be submitted in English only.

(11) Applications in subject fields other than those specified in para-2 above will not be considered. Candidates who do not possess the requisite qualifications need not apply.

(12) Candidates must furnish a clear and precise programme of study / research (minimum 300 words) justifying that their study / research can be carried out in the United Kingdom. Candidates are advised to describe their research proposals carefully as these will be a primary condition in selection.

(13) Incomplete applications and applications received after the stipulated date i.e. 24.02.2012 (Friday at 5:30 PM) will not be considered and no correspondence will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

(14) Documents submitted along with the application will not be returned. Hence, the candidates are advised to send only attested copies of the certificates.

Essential Qualification: MSc in any branch of Life Science, with more than 60% marks. Experienced in R&D Laboratory for at least 1 / 2 years. Experience with handling mammalian cell culture, basic molecular biology assays and experimentation is mandatory for project.

Desirable requirements: Experience in western blotting, PCR, Microscopy, handling and experimentation with and knowledge of primer designing, will be considered an added qualification.

Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai has invited applications for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma / MDS / M.Ch (Neuro-Surgery) courses of Academic Year 2012-13 in Tamil Nadu Government Medical / Dental Colleges and self-financing institutions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
(a) Candidates should be citizens of India and should have undergone MBBS / BDS courses in the State of Tamil Nadu.
(b) Candidates of Tamil Nadu Nativity who have completed MBBS / BDS in other states should furnish a Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority only in the specified format.
(c) Candidates who have passed their MBBS / BDS Examinations and completed / completing the CRRI period on or before 31-03-2012 are eligible to write the Entrance Examination. However the candidates should possess the permanent Medical / Dental Council Registration Certificates of the States or of India at the time of counselling for allotment of seats.

The candidates who are undergoing CRRI should submit a self declaration that their CRRI will be completed before their joining the Post Graduate course.

(d) Candidates should possess MBBS / BDS Degree of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or of any other University recognized as equivalent to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and recognized by the Medical / Dental Council of India.

APPLICATIONS:
Candidates seeking admission to PG Degree / Diploma / 6 Year M.Ch, (Neurosurgery) / MDS courses should submit the common application form with necessary enclosures which should reach The secretary, Selection Committee, 162, EVR Periyar Salai, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600010.

Applications can only be downloaded from: www.tnhealth.org and www.tn.gov.in and the filled-in application along with necessary enclosures and 3 self-addressed envelopes 23 X 10 cms must be sent to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai -10 before the last date along with a Demand Draft for 1250/- which is non refundable towards the cost of application form drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee payable at Chennai. The name of the candidate and the name of the course (PG/MDS) should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft. SC / SCA and ST candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu are exempted from payment of the cost of the Application Form.

Applications have been invited for the TANCET 2012 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 31st March & 1st April 2012 from candidates who seek admission to M.B.A.M.C.A. and M.E. / M.Tech., / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2012-2013 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University, Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. MBA: A pass in any recognised Bachelor's Degree with 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern or a pass in any Degree with 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern or B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Pharm degree or AIME with 2 years regular full time Teaching Experience /Industrial experience in the relevant field after passing all the subjects. Candidates should have obtained 50% marks in the degree examinations (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)

2. MCA: A pass in any in any recognised Bachelor's degree with 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern, or a pass in 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern with Mathematics at + 2 level with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Candidates should have obtained 50% marks in the qualifying examinations (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)

3. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.: Details of the eligibility conditions will available in the website: www.annauniv.edu .

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2012 can also apply for TANCET 2012.

APPLICATION:

Candidates have to submit only one application for the Entrance Test for all the above PG Programmes. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC / ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) as entrance test fee for any one of the Programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./ M.Plan. If a candidate desires to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, he / she has to pay Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) along with the filled-in application.
