NOTIFICATION

The University will conduct Doctoral Entrance Test (DET) for admission to Ph.D. Programme for the Session 2014 as per the Ordinance No. 16 in accordance with the UGC Ph.D. Regulation-2009, on Thursday 31st July, 2014 at 10 AM, which shall be conducted for each subject separately at the University Teaching Departments (UTD).

Eligible candidates desirous of seeking admission to this programme are required to submit application through on-line process open from 5th July, 2014 to 26th July, 2014 with on-line payment of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. Two Thousand Only) plus online charges through Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur website (http://www.rdunijbpin.nic.in).  The hard copy of online filled-in application form along with attested supportive documents etc. should be submitted/ sent to the Head of the university teaching department/ Departmental Research Committee of the concerned subject for scrutiny.

Eligibility Crieteria will be as per ordinance 16 para 3.

The Entrance Test shall comprise of one multiple choice objective type paper having 100 questions of one mark each covering all the basic papers of the concerned post- graduate course of three hours duration. The candidate must score minimum 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/Physically handicapped) to qualify the entrance test. The successful candidates of the entrance test shall have to appear for an interview.

Candidates who have qualified in national level test such as NET/GATE etc. and state level test such as MPSLET, accredited by the UGC or Teacher fellowship holders or holders of M.Phil. degree through entrance test shall be exempted from the entrance test. However, such candidates will have to necessarily apply through on-line process open from 5th July, 2014 to 26th July, 2014 with on-line payment of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. Two Thousand Only) plus online charges for admission to Ph.D. Programme and appear for interview.

Three Year LL.B Course Admission Notice 2014-15

Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Three Year LL.B Course 2014-15 in Government Law Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode and in Private Self-financing Law Colleges of Kerala which have entered into seat sharing agreement with the State Government.

Eligibility for Admission: 
(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen. (ii) Academic Qualifications: a) Candidate seeking admission to the Course should be a Graduate in any faculty of any University in Kerala or of any other Universities recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto.

b) He/she should have passed the Bachelor’s Degree Examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (ie., 45% marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together). However candidates belonging to SC/ST category need only 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 

c) Candidates who are appearing /have appeared for the qualifying examination (regular examination of academic year 2013-14) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Provisional/Degree Certificate and mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission. (iii) Age: There is no upper or lower age limit. (iv) Qualifying Standards in the Entrance Examination: To qualify in the examination, a General/SEBC applicant should secure a minimum of 10% marks in the Entrance Examination whereas a candidate belonging to SC/ST category should get a minimum of 5% marks. 

Entrance Examination: The Entrance Examination will be conducted in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode on 10.08.2014 (Sunday) from 10 am to 1 pm. Application Fee: For General and SEBC candidates, the application fee is Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only) and for SC/ST Candidates, the application fee is Rs.300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only).The required fee can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is available along with the print out of online application. The Original Chalan duly signed and authenticated by the bank authorities should be sent along with the print out of the application form. Candidates from outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by attaching a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Last date and time for receipt of printout of application: Candidates should take printout of the online submitted application and affix a recent passport size photograph identical to the one uploaded, and get it attested by a Gazetted Officer. This application along with the required documents should be forwarded to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001 in A4 size envelope, either by registered post/ speed post/ hand delivery so as to reach the office before 5 pm on 30.07.2014. Belated, incomplete and defective applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be made in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay. 1. ELIGIBILITY:

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship will be awarded to the full-time students enrolled in the PhD programme of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, FA, AAU only.
Minimum GPA in a semester for the award of the fellowship will be 8.00 in 10.00 scale.

Eligibility for admission
(i) General
(a) Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed. course should have passed B.A./B.Sc/M.Com Degree examination (under the 10+2+3 pattern) with one main/core subject and two subsidiary/ complementary course from this University or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto.
(b) Candidates who have passed their qualifying Examination from Universities outside Kerala should submit Eligibility/Equivalence Certificate stating that their qualifying Examination is recognized by this University, for seeking admission to B.Ed Degree Course in a particular optional subject in a stream as applicable, along with their application.
(c) Double or triple main candidates of other Universities will be considered for admission only if they furnish the copies of the Equivalence/Eligibility certificate from Kannur University stating that the qualifying examination is recognized for seeking admission to B.Ed Degree course in a particular optional subject. Equal weightage is given to Single main, Double main and Triple main
Degree holders.
(d) The minimum requirement of marks for admission to B. Ed. Course is 50 % or equivalent CGPA (No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted)in Bachelor?s Degree [Science/Arts Subjects]for Part III/Core and Complementary courses togather or 50% or equivalent CGPA marks in MA/M.Sc/M Com with usual relaxation for the eligible categories as per University/Government/NCTE Norms.
(e) Candidates belonging to SC/ST and natives of Lakshadweep, Aided or Government Teachers with 3 years regular service need to secure a pass in the Degree Examination. The candidates belonging to SEBC will be given a relaxation of 5% and the candidates belonging to OEC will be given a relaxation of 5% from the prescribed minimum marks. Blind candidates who have more than 40% disability will be given relaxation of 5% from the prescribed minimum marks. Candidates should be Physically fit and mentally sound. Deaf/Dumb candidates are not eligible. However blind candidates will be eligible for admission to courses other than Science optional.

(ii) For Language Optionals
a) English: BA Degree with English Language and Literature/Functional English/ Communicative English with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/GPA in Part III/Core and Complementary courses or 50% marks in MA English Language and Literature/Functional English/Communicative English or BA/B.Sc with 50% of marks or equivalent CGPA/GPA for Part I English/Common Course - 1 and not less than 50% marks for Masters Degree in English Language and Literature.

iii) For Other Optional Subject
(a) Mathematics: B.Sc Degree with Mathematics/statistics/Applied Statistics as main, with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/GPA in Part III/Core and Complementary courses or 50% marks in M.Sc. Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Statistics.
Candidates with Statistics/Applied Statistics should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects.
(b) Physical Science: B.Sc Degree with Physics/Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Geology/Petrochemicals/Bio Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry main with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/GPA in Part III/Core and Complementary courses or 50% marks in M.Sc Physics/Chemistry/Polymer

They should have studied Zoology/Botany/Bio Chemistry as one of the subjects in Degree level.
(d) Social Science: B.A Degree with History/Arabic and Islamic History/Urudu and Islamic History/Geography /Politics/ Economics/ Sociology/ Psychology/ Philosophy/ West Asian Studies with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/GPA in Part III /Core and Complementary courses or 50% marks in M.A History/Arabic and Islamic History/Geography/ Politics/ Economics /Sociology/ Psychology/Philosophy/ West Asian Studies.
(e) Commerce: Candidates who have secured M.Com Degree with not less than 50% marks are eligible for admission to the B.Ed Course in Commerce. Such candidates are not eligible for admission to any other B.Ed Course.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has invited application for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). Candidates can apply for CTET-SEPT 2014 through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in  till August 4, 2014.

The application for CTET-SEPT 2014 has been made completely online with the facility to upload photograph and signature of the applicant. The particulars will be filled online and the scanned images of photograph and signature (in JPG format only) will be uploaded at the time of filling the application form. The candidates are advised to keep the scanned images of photograph and signature of the candidates ready in JPG format before applying online.

The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying.

Candidate should enter his/her particulars i.e. Name, Father Name, Mother Name and Date of Birth as per his/her Secondary Education Board Class Xth Certificate. Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation Page for record and keep it for their reference. The Confirmation Page is not required to be sent to CTET Unit.

Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for college and university students

The Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education has invited applications under Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for college and university students.

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary examinations. As many as 82,000 fresh scholarships per annum (41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls) are awarded for graduate/post graduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.

Eligibility
The applicant should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination 2014 conducted by CBSE and have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above. Minimum Total Aggregate Marks for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/UR) to apply for Scholarship (Marks in first five subjects) is 426 for Science, 412 for Commerce and 351 for others.

The applicant should be pursuing higher studies and have taken admission in Under Graduation regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized Educational Institutions/University in India.

The applicant should not be availing any other scholarship.

Total Annual Income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs.6 Lakhs per annum.

Scholarship amount and duration
Graduation: Rs 1,000 per month for three years; to be disbursed lump sum amount of Rs 10,000 at the end of the academic year.
Post Graduation: Rs 2,000 per month for two years;  to be disbursed lump sum amount of Rs 20,000 at the end of the academic year.
