UGC  PG Merit Scholarship 2014-2016

University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi has invited online applications for the award of Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders for the academic session 2014-16 with the purpose of supporting post-graduation education through scholarships to such students, who have secured Ist and IInd positions at Undergraduate level in any recognized University / Autonomous College / Non-University affiliated Institute. The value of Scholarship amount is Rs.2,000/- pm (10 months in the year) for a period of two years only.

The First & Second Rank holders at UG level and admitted in any non-professional Postgraduate Course would be awarded the scholarship. The Undergraduate courses from following streams have been identified for the award of scholarships:

a) Life Sciences

b) Physical Sciences

c) Chemical Sciences

d) Earth Sciences

e) Mathematical Sciences

f) Social Sciences

g) Commerce

h) Languages

The scholarship would however, be subject to securing a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks at undergraduate level.

The rank holders would be considered only from affiliated universities where in at least 100 students and in deemed / private Universities / Autonomous / Nonaffiliated colleges, at least 25 students have appeared in the examination at undergraduate level in the aforesaid programmes.

Selection will be made by an Expert Committee on the basis of applications which are complete in all respects, received through online mode within the stipulated time frame.
