2.   Forms : The prescribed Application Form and the Information Brochure can be downloaded from the official website of Calcutta University www.caluniv.ac.in     Downloaded application forms completed in all respects along with the proof of payment of Rs. 100/=    for General & Rs.50/ for SC/ST/PWD category by SBI Challan will be received in the office of the concerned Faculty. If required, additional forms
may be downloaded. However, Rs.100/=  is to be paid by SBI Challan for submission of each additional form.     

3. Mode of Payment of Application for Offline System : Application fee may be deposited with the S.B.I. Calcutta University Branch, College St. or with any other SBI Branch by paying the required additional Bank Transaction fee. The Fees would be paid to C.U. Current a/c No.33952775663 (with SBI, CU Br.) under head “Calcutta University P.G. offline application”. Counterpart of the Slip in original after Cash deposition or DD in favour of “Calcutta University payable at Kolkata” is to be attached with the application form. In case of DD please write on the reverse of the DD (a) Name of the applicant (b) Application No.(if applicable); (c) Course applied for.

Mode of payment of application fee : For online system application fee may be deposited in any of the following manner : (a) Through “SBI Collect” system; i) By internet banking/debit card/credit card of any bank. (ii) By cash to any branch of SBI. For SBI collect system additional commission for bank transaction to be borne by the candidate. No bank charge will be payable if cash deposition made in SBI, C.U. Br. at University of Calcutta, College St. Campus. Copy of the fee deposition slip is to be attached with the printed copy of the application. (iii)DD in favour of ‘Calcutta University’ payable at Kolkata.

Admission in M.A./M.Sc.(economics) under Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Library Science, Journalism and Education will be conducted through offline admission process. For offline process, copy of the application form is to be downloaded from the website and duly filledin application form alongwith relevant supporting documents selfattested by the candidates are to be submitted to the concerned Secretary’s office. The documentary evidence of the payment of Application fee must be attached with the hard copy of the application (Details shown in the brochure vide Sec. No.1 & 6).

Admission in M.Com. course under Faculty of Commerce will be conducted online. (Details in website : www.calunivucsta.net).  For online process after online submission of the application, the copy of the application is to be downloaded and printed copy of the downloaded application
alongwith relevant supporting documents selfattested by the candidate are to be submitted to the concerned Secretary’s Office. The documentary evidence in original of the payment of application fee must be attached with the hard copy of the application. Submission of form for M.Com. (online w.e.f.11.08.14 to 19.08.14).

ix) Percentage of cut off marks for entrance test and any other criteria will be notified after receiving the application form.
x) Selection will be made strictly in order of merit on the basis of percentage of marks for 60% of seats for C.U. current year students and rest 40% of seats on the basis of subject wise Entrance Test for Non C.U. and C.U. Students alongwith all back year students. Under the category of 40% of seats, the students be admitted on the basis of a MCQ test on OMR sheet  with 50 questions on the subject  each carrying 2 marks.  Marking will be made in black colour ball point dot pen. Distribution of Marks : For each correct answer 2 marks, for wrong answer minus 0.5 marks; and not attempted 0 (zero) marks will be awarded. If there is a tie of marks obtained in the written entrance test amongst the candidates than the candidates with less negative marking will be placed in higher position in the merit list than the other candidate.

Part-Time B.Tech Course Admission Notice 2014-2015

Applications are invited for admission of candidates to Part Time (PT) B. Tech Programmes (4 years) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering at Model Engineering College under IHRD for the academic year 2014-2015. The classes will be conducted normally in the evening on all working days and on holidays, if necessary in accordance with the syllabi of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

Eligibility for Admission
Nativity: Candidates shall be Indian Nationals, either native of Kerala State or employed in Kerala State.

Academic Eligibility: A pass in the Diploma Examination in any one of the following disciplines in Engineering, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks:
Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Applied Electronics / Instrument Technology / Electronics &Instrumentation / Biomedical Engineering / Medical Electronics /Medical Instrumentation / Electronics & Avionics / Electronic Production Technology / Telecommunication Technology.

Experience: Candidates shall be presently working and shall have a minimum of two years work experience in a registered firm/ Company/ Industry/ Educational and/or Research Institute / Government/Quasi-Government or Government Autonomous Organizations after obtaining the diploma in any of the above disciplines.
Training of any kind will not be considered as experience. However one year Apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act will be considered as experience for the limited purpose of admission to B.Tech (Part-Time) program.

Applications are invited by Centre for Research Studies, Krishna University, Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh for admissions to the Full Time/Part-Time Ph.D./M.Phil. Research Programmes in the areas of Computer Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical science, English, Journalism and Mass Communication, Commerce and Management.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION INTO FULL-TIME/PART-TIME RESEARCH PROGRAMME:
The candidates seeking admission into the M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes should have passed the postgraduate examination of the Krishna University or any other recognized university as equivalent by UGC in the concerned or related subject securing first or second class with at least 55% of marks on the aggregate or equivalent grade point average (GPA). However, in the case of SC and ST candidates, a relaxation of 5% of marks on the aggregate is provided. In the case of allied subjects, the concerned Boards of Studies (BOS) have to determine the eligibility for admission into research program and the resolutions of the Boards are to be approved by the statutory bodies such as Standing Committee to Academic Senate or Academic Senate. Before admitting candidates into the related subject, the Head of the Department has to check whether proper approval has been accorded.

a) ELIGIBILITY FOR FULL-TIME PROGRAMME WITHOUT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
i) The candidates qualified in UGC NET/GATE/JRF/SLET/CSIR/ICAR/ICSSR /FIP can be admitted at any time of the academic year into M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes. In case there is no vacancy in the Department, an extra seat may be created for such candidate. The Junior Research Fellows (JRF) who have been selected through duly constituted selection committee and are working in the research projects funded by the national research organizations, such as UGC, CSIR, and etc., also be admitted into M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes at any time of the year.
ii) Candidates who passed M. Phil. degree from any recognized university in a relevant subject are also exempted from entrance examination.
iii) Lecturers working in the government degree colleges and government aided private degree colleges and who have been selected for FIP/FDP by the UGC.

b) ELIGIBILITY FOR FULL-TIME PROGRAMME WITH ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
i) Project Fellows and Research Assistants working in the projects sponsored by the national/state and public funding agencies and not selected by a duly constituted selection committee.
ii) Candidates working in National Laboratories-Institutes/Government/Private Organization nominated/Sponsored by the respective employer. These candidates should have a post grade degree and hold rank of Assistant Director/or above.
iii) Unless otherwise stated, applicants possessing the required qualification for admission into the research programmes shall also have to take the entrance test and/or interview as and when research program notification is issued.

c) ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION INTO PART-TIME PROGRAMME
For admission into research under part-time programme, a candidate should satisfy the following
conditions also in addition to the general eligibility conditions.

i. A teacher with at least two years of full-time teaching experience in Krishna University or any other University recognized as equivalent there to by UGC or any affiliated professional or Post Graduate College.
ii. A teacher with at least three years of full-time teaching experience in a recognized degree college / oriental college.
iii. A teacher with at least four years of full-time teaching experience in a recognized Polytechnic or Junior college.
iv. An employee possessing at least two years of research experience in a cadre not lower than that of Assistant Director working in a research institution run by the State Government or the Central Government or in a recognized institution funded by the organizations like the UGC/CSIR/CSSR/DST/DAE and such other agencies.
v. Other in-service people with ten years experience having an aptitude for research.
