Applications are invited from prospective candidates for admission to the Integrated MS-PhD Program at IISER Mohali in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for the session beginning in August 2013.

The program will involve course work as well as research work. Successful completion of the program will lead to an MS degree and a PhD degree.

Eligibility Criteria: The applicant should have a Bachelor's degree in Science and related areas with a good academic record (at least 60% aggregate or at least 6.0 on a scale of 10).

Additional Qualification: Students who have obtained one of the following national-level qualifications are advised to mention the same in their application form:

rank in JEST examination for Physics
NBHM Masters or PhD scholarship for Mathematics
DST INSPIRE fellowship or KVPY scholarship
rank in IIT JAM for the chosen specialization
Application Procedure: Prospective candidates should apply online using the "Online Application Facility". Short-listed candidates will be invited for a screening-test/interview at IISER Mohali.

Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has invited applications for PhD Admission of Autumn Semester 2013-14.

Admissions Eligibility:
(1) An applicant should possess the following qualifications in appropriate areas to be eligible to apply for admission for the PhD programme of the Institute.

(a) Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Urban & Rural Planning / Pharmacy / Computer Applications of 3 years duration after graduation in respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute wherever letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years / semesters) where marks are awarded.
OR
(b) Master’s degree in Sciences / Humanities & Social Sciences / Management in respective discipline or equivalent with a valid NET (CSIR / UGC) / NET (LS)
or valid GATE or valid GPAT score and minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute where letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks where marks are awarded.
OR
(c) BTech / BArch degree or equivalent in respective discipline with excellent academic record (with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 70% marks) and in possession of a valid GATE score.

(2) The admission eligibility requirements may be relaxed to 5.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, or to 55% marks to the following categories:
a. SC / ST candidates with Master’s degree.
b. Any category of PD (Persons with disabilities) Candidate holding BTech degree or equivalent degree.
c. Academic staff of the Institute who has an experience of more than 5 years.

(3) Eligibility for Part-time PhD
a) The applicant possesses the minimum entry qualifications for the degree as given above.
b) The applicant proves that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time to research;
c) He / She will be required to reside at the Institute for a period of not less than 6 months during his / her registration for the degree. (This condition of minimum residence period will be automatically waived for candidates who are working in Roorkee or in Organizations / institutions located within a distance of 100 km from the Institute).
d) The facility of part time registration will also be available to all employees of the IIT Roorkee or candidates working in organizations having MoU with IITR or organizations approved by IIT Roorkee as Research Centres. Such applicants are exempted from the requirement of having valid GATE / NET / GPAT.
e) The applicants must have been in continuous service with the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of submitting the application form for admission

There are two faculty members each having several sponsored projects and research programmes in the
areas of Magnetic Multilayes/Heterostructures, MEMS Devices, Thin Film Solar Cells, Functional Nanomaterials, Molecular Crystallography/ Bioinformatics, and Geo Physics.


HOW TO APPLY
 The candidate is required to register and fill the application online from March 18, 2013 by accessing http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in  and after finalizing, download the online filled application and Bank Challan simultaneously, then the requisite fee of Rs. 200/- for GEN/OBC and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PD category candidates must be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India throughout the country through Bank challan on next day and or before the last date i.e. April 23, 2013. The Bank Challan will be printed in triplicate. Bank will retain a copy and will return two copies to you. In those two copies, retain the Candidate’s copy with you and attach the IITR’s copy with the print out of downloaded application form.

MEDICAL / DENTAL:
Candidates should have passed II PUE /10 + 2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry Biology and English with 50% marks in aggregate in PCB (Those who have appeared and awaiting results of IInd PUE may also apply with the indication “Results are awaited” in the Application form)

THE BLDE ASSOCIATION HAS DECIDED TO GIVE 5% OF THE TOTAL INTAKE to meritorious candidates for the academic year 2013-14 at free of cost (Tuition fee and 50% of Hostel fee, if opted for hostel accommodation) to the candidates domicile of and studied in Bijapur district, whose ranks are within 1500 in Karnataka CET-2013 test and also eligible in the BLDEU-UGET-2013 for the MBBS course. Candidates desirous to opt for admission under this category will have to apply in prescribed form available on the website separately. Selection will be on the inter-se merit on the ranks awarded by Karnataka CET-2013.

Eligibility Criteria
Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the following relevant eligibility requirements for admission to MBBS course will be considered eligible to appear for the UGET (BLDEU-UGET-2013) and subsequently for admission to the course.
1. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2013.
2. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination.
3. The last two years of study should have comprised of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) subjects with English as a compulsory subject. The candidates must have passed these subjects individually.
4. As per the requisitions of statutory bodies as laid out in the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education-1997 of Medical Council of India and the amendments there of, the minimum percentage of marks for Admission to Under Graduate Courses shall be 50% for candidates belonging to General Category, 45% for candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs ( as certified by competent issuing authority) and 40 percent for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward classes (as declared by the Government of Karnataka from time to time)
5. Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e. PUC-II/ 10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered to appear for BLDEU–UGET-2013, provided they have appeared for above mentioned subjects at the said examination.
6. Foreign/PIO/NRI students need not appear for BLDEU-UGET-2013. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.
If the candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above he/she will not be considered eligible for admission for M.B.B.S Degree even if he/she is placed in the merit list of BLDEU-UGET-2013. The candidates are advised not to submit their application forms for appearing for BLDEU-UGET-2013, if they do not fulfill any or all of the relevant eligibility requirements.
Rank list / Rank Card / Counseling Letter will be prepared only for those students who become eligible to M.B.B.S. Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council of India.
Note:
Change of category status like SC, ST, Karnataka OBC, or locomotor disability will not be entertained during the process. As such students are cautioned to declare their status while filling the application.
If the candidate is unable to satisfy the requirements for status of SC, ST or Karnataka OBC or locomotor disability he/she will be considered under general category.

INTRODUCTION
EGMP is a One‐Year Part‐Time General Management Programme through on campus as well as virtual classroom teaching for middle/senior level professionals from corporate sector such as Banking, Insurance, IT, Marketing, HR, Operations, Consulting Government sector, Regulatory Bodies, practicing Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants and Company Secretaries to prepare them for advanced careers in management with an emphasis on the Indian and International business environment through a comprehensive and challenging curriculum.
EGMP will integrate advanced management theory, soft skills and quantitative methods with real world business practices. This programme has 255 hours of class‐room learning module. It will have eleven days (eight days in the beginning and three days at the end of the programme) of on‐campus learning module of approx 55 hours of teaching to facilitate close interaction with the IIM Lucknow faculty. The remaining of around 200 hours of class room learning will be facilitated through virtual platform on Thursdays and Sundays.
EGMP is a Management Development Programme and on successful completion of the programme, the participant will be awarded a Certificate of Executives General Management Programme through Virtual Classroom 2013‐14.

Core courses would cover a wide range of disciplines to enhance awareness, understanding and decision capabilities relating to enterprise management.

􀂄 17 courses in Accounting, Business Communication, Business Environment, Business Statistics, Business Sustainability, Consumer Behaviour, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Management Accounting, Management Information Systems, Marketing Management, Managerial Economics, Marketing Research, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Organizational Behaviour, and Strategic Management.

INTEGRATED PROJECT
The integrative project is an important part of the programme. The student would identify the management problem, develop and evaluate alternative courses of action and suggest the best option. Each participant would present the findings of his/her study along with a written submission. The evaluation of the project report is to be done by Industry guide and IIML faculty.
