Eligibility
M.Sc. in Biotechnology:

Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2010 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR to 2010, are not eligible to apply.
How To Apply
A candidate can apply either “Online” or “Offline”.

Online Application: Candidates can apply Online on payment of prescribed fee if they have access to a computer, a printer and Internet by logging on to JNU website www.jnu.ac.in or www.jnuonline.in . The sites have been designed in a ‘user friendly’ way to help candidates for applying Online in a step-by-step fashion. A. Nationality and Age
The candidate, seeking to appear for AICET-12 shall be an Indian national and shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2012, i.e. he/she should have been born before 1st January 1996.

B. Qualifications for MBBS & BDS
The candidate, seeking admission to these programmes, shall have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination / the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination / Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) examination or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any school / college situated in India after 12 years of study. The candidate with other qualifications shall have to get equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.

The candidate, seeking admission to these programmes, shall have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50 percent marks (40 percent marks for scheduled castes / scheduled tribes candidates) in Physics Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination, i.e. 10 + 2 / HSC or an equivalent examination.

A candidate who has appeared or is likely to appear for qualifying examination i.e. HSC etc., and whose results have not been declared at the time of AICET- 12 shall also be considered eligible to appear for AICET-12, provided he/she has offered the above mentioned subjects at the said qualifying examination(s).

The candidate seeking admission for the programmes shall also have secured at least 50 percent marks (100 out of 200 marks) at the AICET-12.

C. Eligibility for NRI / PIO / FN
A candidate in any of these categories shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2012 (i.e. having born before 1st Jan. 1996.) He / She must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at the CBSE, ISC, HSC or an equivalent examination. In the case of a student from any school that follows the American system of education, the candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology at 'AP' (Advanced Placement) level and must have minimum 'C 'grade in these subjects. In the case of students passing Cambridge International Examination (CIE) the candidate should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology at “Advanced” level along with English at “Advanced Subsidiary” (AS) level.

(ii) (a) In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admissions or on such other date as may be notified by the common entrance test committee. There is no upper age limit.
(b) In the case of BTech (Dairy Technology), BTech (Ag. Engineering), BTech (FS &T) and BSc (CA & BM) offered in Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates as on 31st December of the year of admission.

(D) (i) For Pharm-D course candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optionals conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, as equivalent thereto or should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma Examination in Pharmacy course conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and training.

ADMISSIONS:
All admissions shall be made strictly on merit as determined on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Entrance Examination to be conducted by University, except the following:

(a) Admissions to BTech Programmes shall be made by the University on the basis of merit of AIEEE Examination conducted by CBSE, New Delhi.
(b) Admissions to Masters programme in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology shall be made through the entrance examination conducted by JNU, New Delhi. For application forms and other details candidates may contact JNU, New Delhi.
(c) Admission to Masters programmes in MBA / MBA (Agribusiness) shall be made through CAT score and Group Discussion and an Interview conducted by the University.
(d) In MTech programmes, admission shall be made first based on the qualified GATE score. Vacant seats shall be filled based on OGPA / percentage (%) of marks of BTech. The candidate should have secured at least an OGPA of not less than 6.000 / 10.000 or 3.000 / 5.000 or 55% marks in aggregate in case of the Institutions / Universities where these scales are not applicable in the Bachelor's degree. However, admission towards seats for Other State candidates in MTech Agricultural Engineering majors shall be made through Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR. In case, domicile candidates of Uttarakhand are not available for the sanctioned seats, the same shall be filled from amongst candidates of Other States.

For Geoinformatics students: The student must meet one of the following.
Students with background in technical degree (BE / BTech / ME / MTech in CS / IT / EE / ECE) as specified above.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012, has announced the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF-NET) and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers in certain subject areas falling under the Faculty of Science.

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years for candidates who desire to pursue research, subject to fulfilment of certain conditions including their finding admission/placement in a University/ National Laboratory/ Institution of higher learning and research.

Examination: The CSIR-UGC NET will be held on 17th June, 2012 at Bangalore, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Karaikudi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pilani, Pune, Raipur Roorkee, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Varanasi.

No request for change of centre opted, would ordinarily be granted. However, a request in writing for change of Centre may be entertained on merits, if received in the unit latest by 23.04.2012. If sufficient number of candidates do not opt for any of the above Centres, that particular Centre may stand deleted from the above list or otherwise also, the concerned candidates may be allotted another Centre nearest to their place of residence, at the discretion of CSIR. No TA/DA will be admissible to any candidate for attending the test, in any circumstances.

Subjects: The Test will be held in (i) Chemical Sciences (ii) Earth Sciences (iii) Life Sciences (iv) Mathematical Sciences and (v) Physical Sciences

Eligibility: Applicant should hold M.Sc or Equivalent Degree under the subjects mentioned in pre-para, with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D Degree holders who had passed Master's Degree prior to 19th September 1991.

A candidate can also apply for the Test under Result Awaited (RA) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (Last Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc or equivalent Degree Examination in subjects mentioned, during the academic Session 2011-12. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year(Last Semester where Semester system is there) M.Sc. or equivalent Degree examination. However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame. Students enrolled in integrated MS-Ph D Program are also eligible to apply for JRF in subject areas of NET. Their eligibility for Lectureship will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC.

Age limits: For JRF (NET), applicant should be of minimum 19 years of age and maximum 28 years of age as on 1.1.2012. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants. For LS (NET) applicant should be of minimum 19 years of age as on 1.1.2012. There is no upper age limit in this case.

Scheme of the Test: NET will be of 3 hours duration and will have single paper having Multiple Choice Questions. The morning session will, have the tests in (i) Life Sciences and (ii) Mathematical Sciences and will be held from 9 am to12 noon. The tests in (i) Chemical Sciences (ii) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences and (iii) Physical Sciences will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 17th June, 2012.

Syllabus & Scheme of Exam is available in the Information Bulletin at Annexure I and also at www.csirhrdg.res.in.

The question paper will be divided into three parts, A, B & C. Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall contain questions pertaining to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude. Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus. Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. Negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be applicable as per scheme of Exam.

To enable the candidates to go through the questions, the question paper booklet will be distributed 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. The Answer sheet will be distributed at the scheduled time of the exam.

The Question Booklet will be printed in Hindi & English Version separately. Those opting for Hindi medium in the Application Form, will be supplied Question Booklet printed in bilingual and Candidate opting for English medium, will be supplied Question Booklet printed in English Version only. The candidate will be required to answer as per option exercised in the application Form.

The final result may be declared sometime in the month of August, 2012 and fellowship to successful candidates could be awarded from 01.01.2013.

Application Fee: Application fee for General candidates is Rs. 400/- while for Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non Creamy Layer), it is Rs. 200/-. For SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) or Visually Handicapped (VH), applicants, it is Rs. 100/-

Application: A candidate may apply either for ‘JRF + Lectureship’ or for ‘Lectureship (LS) only’ and the preference has to be indicated in the O.M.R Application Form/Online Application, as the case may be. CSIR may consider candidates applying for ‘JRF + LS’ or ‘Lectureship only’, depending on number of fellowships available & performance in the test subject to the condition that they fulfil the laid down eligibility criterion. If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only.

Submission of Application: Application can be submitted after obtaining the Information Bulletin and Application forms through the branches of the Bank notified and available at http://csirhrdg.res.in/netjune2012notice.pdf within the prescribed dates, by paying the fee applicable, in cash.

The information Bulletin and Application form may also be obtained through Value Payable Post (V.P.P) from ‘Indian Bank, 3/1, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi-110 008’, by sending a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 400/-, Rs. 200/- or Rs.100/-, as applicable, drawn in favour of ‘Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi’, payable at New Delhi (with name, date of birth, address, date of Examination (17.06.2012) and subject code written on the back of the Demand Draft), along with 2 self-addressed slips clearly mentioning the address at which the Information Bulletin & Application Form are to be sent by V.P.P, to reach the addressee between 21st February, 2012 (Tuesday) and latest by 14th March, 2012 (Wednesday). The DD should bear the code number of the issuing bank and Drawee bank and also amount and signatures of issuing authority.

Application can also be submitted online at www.csirhrdg.res.in . Applicant is first required to download Bank challan Performa from the website and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches throughout the country.

After successful submission of application online, applicant is required to take print out of the Application Form, paste his/her recent black & white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach requisite certificates and send the same along with CSIR marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan to ‘Sr. Controller of Examinations, Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012’, so as to reach there on or before 26.03.2012. For candidates applying from Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshdweep, the application form must reach the Sr.Controller of Examination CSIR on or before 02.04.2012. Online applications without hard copy or bank challan receipt or incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.

Those seeking fee concessions should attach an attested copy of his/her category certificate as a proof of his/her claim. An application form (either through Bank or online), claiming any concession in fee & education qualification but without an attested copy of a valid SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer)/PH/VH certificate from a competent authority and in prescribed format, will be summarily rejected.

CSIR follows only Central Govt. lists and not state Govt. lists. Similarly, Govt. of India rules will be applicable for those applying under physically handicapped (PH)/ visually handicapped (VH) category.

Merit list: Two separate merit lists, one comprising the candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF - NET) and the second, of those candidates qualifying the Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET), will be made on the basis of their performance in the above Test. Candidates qualifying for JRF (NET), will also be eligible for Lectureship (NET) subject to fulfilling the eligible criteria laid down by UGC. The candidates qualifying for Lectureship will be eligible for recruitment as Lecturers as well as for JRF-ship in a Scheme/Project, if otherwise suitable. However, they will not be eligible for Regular JRFNET Fellowship. They will be eligible to pursue Ph.D. programme with or without any fellowship other than JRF-NET.

Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the Schemes with which they may find association. The candidates declared eligible for Junior Research Fellowship under UGC scheme will be governed by UGC rules/regulations in this regard.

The National Law University, New Delhi has invited applications for admission to BA, LL.B(Hons.), LL.M and PhD programmes for the academic year 2012-13 commencing from August 2012.

Eligibility:

(i) FIVE-YEAR BA, LL.B (Hons.):
Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent Examination with 50% of marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2012 can also apply.

Age: Below 21 years as on 1 July, 2012 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

Total Seats: 80 [70 seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit]. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Persons with Disabilities.

Note: One additional seat for Kashmiri Migrants after approval from Governing Council of the University. The candidates have to apply, appear in the Entrance Test and fulfill the eligibility criteria as applicable.

(ii) LL.M:
Eligibility: LL.B or an equivalent Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability). The candidates appearing in final LL.B examination in April/May, 2012 can also apply.

Total Seats: 20 + 5 seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from Entrance Test.

Reservation: 15% for SC Candidates, 7.5% for ST Candidates, 3% for Persons with Disabilities.

(iii) PhD :
Eligibility: To be admitted to the candidature for a Doctoral degree an applicant should have:
(i) obtained a Master's Degree in law of any recognised university securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent or
(ii) obtained a degree in law and Masters Degree with MPhil in social sciences or humanities of any recognised university with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent, provided that candidates with qualifications in social sciences and humanities may be admitted to the programme if the research they wish to pursue interface with the discipline of law with a special focus on Public Policy or Law or
(iii) Degree in law and PhD in any discipline or
(iv) Judge of any State High Court in India with three years experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.

Admission:
Admission to BA, LL.B (Hons.), LL.M and PhD Programmes will be through AILET to be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna on May 6, 2012(Sunday).

Application forms can be obtained from NLU, Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078 on payment of Rs.2500/ (Rs.1000/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) through Demand draft, drawn in favour of "Registrar, NLU, New Delhi", payable at New Delhi. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC / ST category are exempted from application fee.

Applications have been invited by Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD), Bangalore for admission to the following courses of Year 2012:
* UG: BSc (Fashion & Apparel Design)
* PG: Diploma Fashion Design
* PG: Diploma Apparel Merchandising & Logistics Management


ELIGIBILITY:
Educational Qualifications:
(a) UG Course: The applicant must be a 10+2 / Equivalent examination in any combination with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks.
(b) PG Course: Any graduate recognised by Indian Universities or Equivalent.

Candidates should also meet the following criteria:
(a) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army (Submit Certificate No 1).
(ii) Children of ex-Army personnel granted / awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board / invalidated medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted
disability pension. (Submit Certificate No 1).

(b) Adopted / Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows :
(i) Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission. (Submit Certificate No 2).
(ii) Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible. (Submit Certificate No 2).

(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:

(i) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex-Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN /
IAF). Wards of only those ex-Army medical officers / Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the
Army for 10 years (Submit Certificate No 3).

(ii) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS / MNS / TA Personnel (Submit Certificate No 3).
(aa) Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D (Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
(ab) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(ac) Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
(ad) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ae) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

The Prospectus with application form can be obtained by candidates from the Office of AIFD Bangalore, ITI B Area, Dooravani Nagar, Old Madras Road, Bangalore -560016 through requisition along with a crossed demand draft for Rs 550/- (which includes Rs.50/- as postal charges) in favour of ARMY INSTITUTE OF FASHION & DESIGN payable at Bangalore.

Prospectus with application form is also available on cash payment of Rs 500/- at the Institute, Army Headquarters (AWES) and all the Command Headquarters (AWES).

Application forms duly completed in all respects along with relevant certificates documents should reach the Principal.
