ME.d Admission Notice 2012-2013


Applications are invited for admission to MEd degree course offered in the affiliated colleges of teacher education under the University on self-financing basis for the year 2012-13 through Centralized Allotment Process.

The selection shall be based on the marks in the qualifying examination and the marks scored for the Entrance Test which is mandatory for all candidates. For the same reason all candidates should submit their applications online through CAP system for the Entrance Test. Candidates who opt for management quota seats can also give options in CAP if they wish to be considered for the general allotment.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION :
Academic eligibility should be satisfied as on the last date of online submission of academic data of the application. Candidates should have passed BEd degree in the subject concerned from any of the Universities in Kerala or of any other University recognised by Mahatma Gandhi University as equivalent thereto for admission with a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 2.2.

RESERVATION OF SEATS :
Types of Reservation : Out of the total Merit Seats available in affiliated colleges for MEd Course, seats will be reserved for different constituents of the three main categories given below:

(a) Persons with Disabilities
(b) Special Reservation and
(c) Mandatory Reservation

Application :
There is only a single application form for applying for the Entrance Test and for giving options for admission to the course in various affiliated colleges. If a candidate submits more than one application, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. Applications have to be submitted ONLINE at : www.mgu.ac.in

Registration fee :
The registration fee (for Application and Entrance Test) will be as follows :
* General candidates : Rs.350/- 
* SC/ST candidates : Rs.250/-
Candidate can submit the chalan at any of the selected branches of SBT.

Submission of Application :
There will be two stages in the submission of applications, both of which are mandatory :
a. On-line Registration of personal and academic data as well as options for courses and colleges.

b. Submission of the printout of online application after all modifications along with all necessary supporting documents must be send to the Office of Joint Registrar II (Admn), MG University, Priyadarsini Hills P.O, Kottayam - 686560. "Application for admission to MEd Programme 2012-13 through CAP" should be super-scribed on the envelope containing the filled-in application form and supporting documents.

Self attested Copies of Certificates / Documents to be submitted with the hard copy of application :
1. Copy of Certificate in proof of date of birth.
2. Copies of Certificate / Provisional Certificate and Mark lists of BEd degree examination.
3. Copies of Community and Income Certificates, if community reservation under SEBC/OEC is claimed.
4. Copy of Community Certificate for claiming reservation under SC/ST.
5. Copy of the Equivalency and Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University ,if applicable.
5. Copies of Post Graduate Degree Certificate and marklist, if bonus marks claimed for the same.
6. Certificate in proof of teaching experience, if bonus marks claimed for the same (to be obtained in the format included in the printout of the Application Form).

PG DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT OF LEARNING DISABILITIES 

The candidates are instructed to go through the prospectus instructions carefully before filling up the application form:

1. Eligibility for admission: Teachers having Degree of University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto.
2. Selection Criteria: Selection will be made based on the marks obtained by the applicant in the Degree Examination.
4.  Documents to be attached:
Candidates should attach attested copies of the following documents along with the filled up application form. (They should produce the Original of documents at the time of interview)
a. SSLC
b. Qualifying Degree Certificate.
c. Mark list of Qualifying Degree Examination.
d. Equivalency Certificate from University of Calicut in case of candidates who passed the qualifying examination from Universities outside Kerala.
e. Experience Certificate as a teacher of Govt./Aided/Unaided/Pri vate institution
If any of the documents is not produced the University has the right to summarily reject the claim for admission.


5. Interview:
i. The list of provisionally selected candidates will be published in the website of the University of Calicut. The provisionally selected candidates will have to appear for an interview before the Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of University of Calicut where they have to submit alt the original documents. !n case they are finally selected they shall remit the required fee at the time of admission, ii. Applicants are required to verify the date of interview which will be published in the University website. Candidates who report after the specified time and dale of the interview will forfeit all claims for admission.

6. Filled up application with enclosures should reach the Head. Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, University of Calicut, Calicut University P.O., Pin-673 635 on or before 19-05-2012 5 p.m.

7. Incomplete, defective and late applications will summarily be rejected.

The Chair for Sustainable Development is going to offer a new on- line Appreciation Programme on Sustainable Management of Biodiversity from the July 2012 session. Chair for Sustainable Development, IGNOU was established in 2007 as a University level Chair, cutting across disciplines and schools. The eminent Agricultural Scientist and Father of green revolution in India, Prof. M.S. Swaminathan is The Honorary Chair. The main objective of the Chair is to develop and promote Education for Sustainable Development in India and capacity building in Sustainability Science.

Programme Objectives: The conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity and the eradication of extreme poverty are two of the main global challenges. It has been recognized by the international community that these two challenges are intimately connected, and require a coordinated response. The sustainable management of biodiversity is one of the most important challenges facing humanity; one that requires the active participation of dedicated professionals who are committed to the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. Our generation has the unenviable task of making hard, possibly irrevocable, decisions on sustainable management of biodiversity at local, regional and international levels. In this context, the aim of this Appreciation programme is to provide a critical and conceptually sophisticated understanding of biodiversity science and the socio-economic, political, cultural and institutional environments within which sustainable management of Biodiversity and policy decisions are made. This programme promote awareness and capacity building for sustainable management of biodiversity for mainstreaming biodiversity into the daily lives of individuals, recreating the relationship between people and nature, securing the linkages between forests, rivers, and the sea and taking actions in a global context.

Eligibility : Graduates in any discipline or its equivalent.
Duration : Minimum one month and maximum six Months
Medium of Instruction : English

Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, a Government of Kerala undertaking, has invited applications from Indian Nationals, interested in a flying career, for admission to (i) Commercial Pilot Licence training (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) (ii) Private Pilot Licence training (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) and (iii) Ground Classes only Programmes for 2012-13.

Applicant should be at least 17 years of age as on 30th June, 2012.  For CPL, applicant should have a pass in +2 or equivalent (Academic Stream), with a minimum of 50% marks and an aggregate of 60 % in Mathematics, Physics and English. For admission to the PPL/Ground Class only, a pass in the 10th Standard or equivalent with English as a subject and a minimum of 60% marks, is the minimum qualification. 

Those having a Degree in Mathematics, Physics, BTech / BE will be given 10% weightage. Fluency in spoken English will be an added qualification for both CPL and PPL Courses. Duration of training for CPL (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) is approximately 3 years and that of PPL (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) is approximately, 1 year. For Ground Classes, PPL Standard, it is approximately 6 months.

For CPL (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) there is a maximum of 10 seats (reservation for SC/ST will be as per Govt. rules). The fee is approximately Rs. 21.5 lakhs (200 hrs), to be paid in instalments as decided by the Academy and is inclusive of a security deposit of Rs 50,000/-, to be refunded at the end of flying training.

For PPL/Ground Classes only, there is a maximum of 5 seats for PPL/Ground classes (Private Pilot Licence-PPL Standard) for issue of Student Pilot Licence (SPL) & Flight Radio Telephony Operator Licence (FRTOL). Fee for PPL (Ground Classes plus Flying Training) is approximately Rs. 7.19 lakhs (60 hrs), to be paid in instalments as decided by the Academy and is inclusive of a security deposit Rs 50,000/-, to be refunded at the end of flying training and,. 

For Ground Classes only (PPL level), the fee is Rs. 50,000/-, to be paid in one instalment. The fee prescribed does not include DGCA Examination / Licence Fees. Admission process includes written test & interview. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DG CA medical examination. 

The written test will be common for all the Programmes. The test of three hours duration will have a paper having objective type questions from Physics, Mathematics, English, Geography, IQ and General Awareness (including aviation). Those securing a minimum of 50% marks in the written test will be called for interview. Candidates who are successful in written test and interview will be required to undergo a Pilot Aptitude Test. A merit list will be prepared subsequent to the medical exam. 

Place of training will be Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and other airports as required. Ground Classes will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram.
