HOW TO APPLY
Applicants who are either Fresh Graduates / Post Graduates, Final Year appearing/appeared students, working professionals, house-wives, retired Defence personnel’s or their dependents are categorized under General / Civil Category, Active Defence, Paramilitary, Police or Symbiosis Employee / Staff have to pay Registration Fees as mentioned under General / Defence Category as applicable.


1) Online Admission
Students can now take admission online. Students can fill the admission form online and simultaneously pay the registration fee online and can enroll with SCDL.


2. Postal Admission
Students can either fill the Admission Form online or download the admission form from the SCDL website. Click the Admission link to download the admission form. Note: Students have to fill the admission form in block letter with blue ball pen or submit the admission form online and print it.
Students have to attach the registration fee demand draft in favor of “The Director, SCDL, Pune” payable at Pune and the required documents as per the checklist mentioned in the admission form, in a closed / sealed envelope and send the form duly signed by the applicant, by post to SCDL Pune Main Campus.
OR Students can also pay the registration fee online, with their credit / debit cards. In this case, they have to attach the online payment transaction details and the required documents as per the checklist mentioned in the admission form, in a closed / sealed envelope and send the form duly signed by the applicant, by post to SCDL Pune Main Campus. Note: 5% extra will be charged for online payment.
An Admission letter, an ID card (for confirmed admissions), Barcodes along with Welcome kit is sent to students, by post, to their communication address, if all admission and eligibility criteria are satisfied, as per admission policy.

Applications are invited for Nineteen Birbal Sahni Research Scholars (BSRSs) tenable at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND AGE LIMIT :
M Sc in Botany/Geology/equivalent subjects with high academic attainments both at graduate and postgraduate levels. Preference will be given to CSIR/UGC/NET qualified candidates.

Age Limit : 28 years as on April 01, 2011. A relaxation of age-limit upto 3 years may be considered by the competent authority in the case of applicants who are suitably qualified and have research training/teaching experience in relevant discipline. In the case of applicants of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes, age relaxation upto 5 years may be allowed. For PH candidates, the age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :
The candidates who have M Sc Degree in Botany should have Geology as one of the main subjects at B Sc level and the candidates who have M Sc Degree in Geology should have Botany as one of the main subjects at B Sc level.


GENERAL CONDITIONS :
1. The tenure of the Birbal Sahni Research Scholar is two years. The Research Scholar shall be entitled to a scholarship amount of Rs.16,000/-PM during the first and second year. After the period of two years, the progress report of the Research Scholar will be assessed along with publications/accepted research papers, research reports, etc. by a Committee constituted by the Director. If found satisfactory, the Research Scholar may be allowed to continue for the third year with the scholarship amount of Rs.18,000/- PM.
2. Candidates who have appeared in M Sc final year examination but the results are awaited may also apply.
3. Only the Indian citizens normally residing in India are eligible for Research Scholars.
4. Mere fulfilling of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirements do not automatically entitle an applicant to be called for test and/or interview.
5. All the applications received within the due date in response to this advertisement shall be considered for shortlisting by a Screening Committee and only the candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be called for test and/or interview. The decision of the Institute on short-listing will be final and the Institute will not entertain any correspondence in this respect.
6. The number of Scholarships may vary. The Institute reserves the right not to fill up any of the Scholarships applied for.
7. The award of Scholarship shall not imply any assurance or guarantee for subsequent employment at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow.
8. Usual infrastructure facilities for research purpose will be provided by the Institute. The submission of online applications (online registration) will begin from, July 16, Saturday. The application fee for the same was being accepted at all Federal Bank branches in the state. Those who have already submitted the application fee can submit applications online from July 16.

Details of the Courses and Duration: The courses lead to Masters Degree in the relevant subject. The course extends for a period of four Semesters. The course of study shall be by regular attendance for the requisite number of lectures, practical training and other means.

i. Govt. Colleges: Total seats available in government colleges

ii. Aided Colleges: Open quota seats and seats earmarked for SC/ST candidates.

iii. Unaided Colleges/ Unaided courses conducted in Aided Colleges: 50% of the total seats including seats reserved for SC/ST/SEBC. RESERVATION OF SEATS

Types of Reservation: Out of the total Merit Seats available in Govt./Aided/Self Financing affiliated colleges for various PG Courses, seats will be reserved for different categories under the following main items:

(a) Reservation for nominees (b) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (c) Special Reservation and (d) Mandatory Reservation Centralised Allotment Process:

Admission/ Allotment of seats under merit quota is governed by a Centralized Allotment Process. Selection/ Allotment of a candidate to any college will be based on the rank of the candidate and the availability of seats. While a reserved category candidate entitled to admission on the basis of his/her merit will have the option of taking admission to the colleges where a specified number of seats have been kept reserved for reserved category, but while computing the percentage of reservation he/ she will be deemed to have been admitted as an open category candidate and not as a reserved category candidate.

After the allotment, the prescribed fee due to the University will have to be remitted by the candidate to any branch of Federal Bank , as per the time schedule prescribed. Once the candidate remits the fee, a fee receipt will be issued by the bank, which shall be produced at the college at the time of admission. It is obligatory for the candidates to report to the college to which he/she is selected. Failure to appear before the Principal concerned for joining the course on the notified date and time will result in the forfeiture of his/her admission to the course and he/ she will not be considered for any vacancies arising in future.

Vacancies arising after the first round of allotment of seats will be filled up according to the rank of the candidate and reservation norms. Application Fee
For General candidates, the Application Fee is Rs.800/-(Rupees Eight hundred only) and for SC/ST candidates the application fee is Rs. 400/- (rupees Four hundred only). The required fee can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is available in the print out of Online Application. The original chalan should be attached with the print out of the application duly signed and authorized and signed by the Bank authorities on remittance of application fees. An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent (such as 11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the program of the Centres of Legal Education to obtain the integrated degree in law with a degree in any other subject as the first degree from the University whose such a degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.
Provided that applicants who have obtained + 2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the Integrated Five Years course or three years’ LL.B. course, as the case may be.

Minimum marks in qualifying examination for admission:
The minimum percentage of marks should be not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants, to be obtained for the qualifying examination.

Age on admission:
(a) Subject to the condition stipulated by a University on this behalf and the high degree of professional commitment required, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of integrated Bachelor of law degree program, is limited to twenty years in case of general category of applicants and to twenty two years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward communities.

One year Urdu Certificate Course Admissions 2011-2012


Applications are invited from the Non-Urdu knowing persons for admission Free of Charge to one year Urdu Certificate Course. The classes (Four days in a week) will be held in the following areas-

• Nizamuddin
• Janakpuri
•West Patel Nagar
•Yamuna Vihar, B-BIock
• Laxmi Nagar, Swasthya Vihar (Opp. Coffee Home & Preet Vihar •Kashmere Gate (C.P.O. Bulding)

Eligibility
(1)Sr. Secondary or Intermediate without Urdu Subject.

(2) Should not have learnt Urdu at any stage.

How To Apply
Prescribed Application forms can be obtained from the office of Urdu Academy on any working day between 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. and 3 p.m. to 5 pm. from 13th July 2011.

Those who wish to submit the Application form on the same day, they should bring one Passport size Photograph and copy of the certificate of their educational qualification with them.
