B. Qualification Requirement:
* For all DM courses except for DM (Clinical Pharmacology, Neuro Radiology, Haematopathology, Cardiac Anaesthesia, Pediatric Neurology) course:
a) MD degree in Medicine or Paediatrics or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India, except as otherwise indicated.
b) Must be registered with the Central / State Medical Registration Council.

* DM (Clinical Pharmacology) course: MD degree in Pharmacology or its equivalent qualification in any clinical subject recognised by the Medical Council of India.
* DM (Neuro Radiology) course : MD degree in Radiology or its equivalent qualification recognised by the
Medical Council of India.
* DM (Haematopathology) course : MD degree in Pathology or equivalent degree.
* DM (Cardiac-Anaesthesia) course : MD degree in Anesthesia or equivalent degree.
* DM (Pediatric-Neurology) course : MD degree in Pediatrics or equivalent degree.
* MCh courses : MS degree in General Surgery or its equivalent qualification recognised by Medical Council of India.
* MCh (Plastic Surgery) Courses:
a) MS degree in General Surgery / MS (ENT) / MS (Orthopedics.) or its equivalent qualification recognised by Medical Council of India.
b) Must be registered with the Central / State Medical Registration Council.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PhD COURSES:

Medical Qualification:
MBBS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD / MS in the subject concerned or Diplomat of National Board of Examination. The candidates who have made more than one attempt during their MBBS / MD / MS course are not eligible. However, those belonging to Scheduled Castes / Tribes with upto two attempts in their MBBS / MD / MS course will be eligible.

Eligibility for Non Medical / Social Behavioural Sciences:
The candidates with the following qualifications will be eligible:
a) The candidates who have passed MSc / MA or its equivalent examination with at least 60 % marks in the subjects mentioned below from colleges / institutes recognized by the UGC / Panjab University are eligible
or
b) Have qualified NET examination (with fellowship only) conduct by UGC, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination conducted by ICMR / CSIR etc (within two years only). Attested copy of the result must be attached.

A degree of Master of Sciences (MSc) or Master in Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) or MSc (Laboratory Technology) or MSc (Speech & Hearing) in subjects allied to Medical Sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Human Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Life Sciences including Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry, Anthropology & MSc (Human Genomics).

Social Behavioural Sciences:
The candidates with the following subjects are eligible for Social Behavioural Sciences. Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Nursing, Nutrition, Child Development.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR MD / MS / MHA COURSES:

To be eligible for admission to MD / MS / MHA course a candidate must possess the following qualifications;
a) MBBS passed or its equivalent qualification from a University / Institute recognized by Medical Council of India with not more than one attempt made during MBBS course. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes with upto two attempts during MBBS course will be eligible.
b) Must have either completed or due to complete one year internship (rotatory housemanship) training by 30th June / 31st December for July and January session respectively.
c) Must be registered with Central / State Medical Registration Council.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR MDS / HOUSE JOB (ORAL HEALTH SCIENCES):

For admission to 1st year Junior Residency for MDS and House Job (Oral Health Sciences) course, a candidate is required to possess the following qualifications :
a) Degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) of Panjab University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate of the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with not more than one failure during BDS career. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Tribes who have two failures during BDS
career will be eligible.
b) Must have either completed or due to complete compulsory paid rotating internship on 30th June/31st December for July and January session respectively.
c) Must be registered with the Central State Dental Registration Council.

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION TO MASTER IN HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION (MHA) COURSES:

To be eligible for admission, a candidate must possess / fulfill the Following qualification / requirements :
1. MBBS or its equivalent degree from a University /Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India with three years experience after passing MBBS examination. OR

2. Should have worked in State Medical Services, Armed Forces Medical Services or other equivalent services for a period of five years or in a hospital which is approved for purposes of undergoing the compulsory rotating internship or in a command hospital, failing which the aforesaid period of five years whould be increased to seven years. Provided that In case of services in Armed Forces, this aforesaid period of five years shall be in addition to one year or compulsory rotating internship required for purposes of obtaining the MBBS degree and full degree and full registration. OR

3. Should have worked as Medical Superintendent / Deputy Medical Superintendent in a Civil or Military Hospital for one year. The posts mentioned imply that the candidate would have fulfilled the requirements of above clause as he/she would have completed five years in the State Medical Services etc.)

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course

HIHT University has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course offered by its Medical College (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences) for 100 seats of the Academic Year 2012-13. ELIGIBILITY:
(1) Age:
Only those candidates, whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December, 1995 (minimum 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2012) are eligible to apply. Only date of birth recorded in the High School / ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be accepted. The Upper Age limit shall be 25 years as on 31.12.2012.

(2) Minimum Qualification:
The candidates must have passed the 10+2, i.e. CBSE / ISC / Intermediate Board Examination or its equivalent, after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of such study, comprising of Physics, Chemisty, Biology / Biotehcnology and English from a recognized Board. The Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 50%) marks in aggregate taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnolgy and atleast 50% (For SC / ST / OBC candidates 40%) marks separately in each of the above subjects in the qualifying examination.

The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination and whose results are not yet available, are also eligible to appear in the PMEE-2012 but such candidates should submit the marksheet of the qualifying exmaination on or before 15.06.2012, such candidates shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS course, if they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Registration for MBA Foundation Course Started
Registration for the one-month MBA Foundation course, conducted by CIMAT commencing on 1st June 2012, has been started. Students who are seeking admission for MBA can register for the course by paying Rs. 5000. The Foundation Course is compulsory to all students who are offered admission for the MBA programme in CIMAT. However, the course is open to all students who want to join the MBA programme of University of Kerala.

The fee paid for the Foundation Course will be refunded to students who join the MBA programme of CIMAT.

The purpose of the Foundation Course is to bring all students who are taking admission to the MBA programs at par in terms of knowledge in Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, and operational understanding of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Duration of the Course will be one month.



ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Educational qualification for applying to the program is a pass in BA, BSc, BCom, with 50% marks in aggregate in Part III or a pass in any other degree level examination recognized by University of Kerala with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Applicants desirous of taking admission in the MBA programme of the Institute must have taken the MAT/CMAT, which is conducted at national level. On the basis of the MAT/ CMAT score, the candidates are shortlisted. Candidates should apply to CIMAT in the prescribed form available in the office of CIMAT or downloaded from the web site of CIMAT (www.cimat.kerala.gov.in ) or from the web site of Kerala State Cooperative Bank (www.keralacobank.com ). Applicants selected will be called for Group Discussion and Interview.They will be offered final admission on the basis of their performance in all these components.

REFUNDS

Subject to the terms and conditions, the students can avail educational loan and computer loan from any of the branches of Kerala State Cooperative Bank.

The (UK) Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), which is the leading academic institution in UK for family medicine, and Apollo Hospitals Group have had an educational collaboration over many years, with RCGP jointly accrediting courses run by Apollo.

Two courses are currently on offer, each carefully tailored to the needs of family doctors in India. The first – the Diploma in Family Medicine – gives family doctors in India a chance to upgrade their knowledge and skills and attitudes through on line study followed by full time clinical attachments. Taught by Apollo staff, the course is quality assured by advisors from RCGP, who also act as external examiners during the final assessments. Successful candidates are then encouraged to study for the international exam for Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP[INT]).

The Diploma in Emergency Medicine is aimed particularly at doctors based in the community but who have a special interest, or extended role, in the provision of emergency medicine services. This course is also taught by Apollo staff but quality assured by RCGP.

Essential Qualification:

Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence as indicated by grade point average (gpA) and gMAT or other acepted admission tests. The following scholarships are available:
Scholarships for Norwegian and international students:
• The Bi presidential Scholarships are for Norwegian and international top level candidates (ECTS grade A or equivalent). They cover the full tuition fees for two years. Additional living costs scholarships may be available for international students.
Scholarships for international students:·
• The Bi Master scholarships: cover partial or full tuition fees for the first year.
• The Norwegian State Educational loan fund scholarships for students from Bi partner institutions in developing countries and Eastern European countries outside the Eu: cover living costs for both years (10 months per year) and most of the tuition fees.
• The A. Wilhelmsen foundation Scholarship: provides a two-year scholarship covering tuition fees and most of the living costs.

Programme: Minimum 1st class/ 1st division / 3.5 in 5 pint scale / 7.0 in 10 point scale (without rounding off) is required throughout (Secondary / Higher Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation) for candidates of all categories to become eligible for admission in M.Tech Programmes. The qualifying degrees for each of the M.Tech courses. “Details of Programmes” of Information Brochure. Candidates should obtain their qualifying degree from the Institute recognized by UGC/AICTE. Mathematics in higher secondary (10 + 2 level) is essential for admission in M. Tech Programme.For M. Phil Programme: Candidates of all categories should possess minimum of 55% (without rounding off) marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of the qualifying degree “Details of Programmes” of Information Brochure from the Institute recognized by UGC/AICTE. However, for admission to M.Phil in English, candidates under SC/ST Categories are eligible with 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade in M.A. English.
Requirement of minimum percentage of marks for both M.Tech and M.Phil programmes
may be waived off for the teachers who have joined the teaching profession on or before February 28, 1993.

The eligibility criteria for different programmes are presented in Table 2.1 of this brochure. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination may also apply for admission. However, they have to submit their final result of the qualifying examination latest by 31st October, 2012 failing which their admission will be cancelled. It is desirable that the candidate fulfils the entire academic requirement at the time of admission, except the declaration of result. In all cases students are required to fulfil the attendance requirements as per rules.


PROGRAMME FEE
The fee structure for M.Tech./M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes, payable at the time of registration/admission are presented in the following table. The fee should be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines, and payable at Dhanbad.

In addition to above the students are required to pay additional amount towards accidental insurance and institute blazer, as per actual, at the time of admission. The fees structure is subject to change from time to time. However, the exact fee structure will be notified at the time of admission.


SCHOLARSHIP
For M.Tech programme: The scholarship For M.Tech. Programme will be offered to only those students who have been admitted as GATE QUALIFIED candidates and not to those who become GATE qualified after admission (for M.Tech. programme). However, a GATE qualified student does not automatically eligible to receive scholarship. The scholarship will be offered to the students on the basis of merit in the respective category.
GATE NOT QUALIFIED candidates are generally not offered any scholarship. However, 11
(eleven) students each from the following M.Tech courses only will be offered scholarship under TEQIP-II:
(i) M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (ii) M. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (iii)M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Manufacturing Engineering (iv)M. Tech in Power System Engineering


For M. Phil Programme: Scholarship of RS. 3000/- per month will be offered to all M. Phil candidates chosen for admission.


SPONSORED (Full Time) candidates are not eligible for scholarship.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
The application form for M.Tech / M. Phil has to be submitted online, which is available on the website www.ismdhanbad.ac.in/admissions. For online submission of form the candidates should first deposit the application fee of ₹ 500/- either by bank transfer (this mode is preferred) or get a demand draft for ₹ 500/-(Please refer Mode of Payment for details of payment). One copy of the completed application form along with the bank deposit document or demand draft should reach Deputy Registrar (Academic & SW), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad 826004 latest by 6th April, 2012. On the top of the envelope please mention “Application form for M. Tech./ M.Phil. Admission 2012.”


Mode of Payment
1. Application Fee (non-refundable) is 500
2. There are two modes of fee payment. You may choose any of the following options:
i. Bank Transfer

A. For SBI Account Holder:-
a. Fees may be remitted through Internet Banking System to ISM A/c (SBI Online Fee
A/c No - 31785678197).
b. Fees may be transferred directly in the ISM A/c (SBI Online Fee A/c No -
31785678197) from SBI Branch. Bank service charge is extra (maximum of 30/-)

B. For other Bank A/c holders:-
a. Fees may be remitted directly in the ISM A/c (SBI Online Fee A/c No -
31785678197) NEFT/ RTGS (IFSC Code – SBIN0001641). Bank service charge is
extra (maximum of 5/-) After transferring the fees a reference no. will be generated, this reference no. will be put on the particular column of the online application form and the Amount deposit document is to be attached with the application form be sent to ISM, Dhanbad.
ii. Demand Draft In this case, a Demand Draft of 500/- in favour of Registrar ISM Dhanbad payable at Dhanbad should be obtained prior to filling of the Application Form. Enter the Demand Draft details while filling the online Application Form and attach the demand draft with the application form to be sent to ISM, Dhanbad. The Draft should have the validity of 6 months.


SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM
The duly filled in prescribed Application Form for M. Tech./ M. Phil. Programmes should be accompanied with the following documents:
a) A recent passport size photograph pasted on each application form and verification card.
Note that verification card is required only for GATE NOT QUALIFIED/ NET NOT
QUALIFIED and SPONSORED (Full Time) candidates.
b) GATE NOT QUALIFIED/NET NOT QUALIFIED and SPONSORED (Full Time)
candidates are required to fill in the admit card and verification card.
c) Bank deposit document or demand draft for the prescribed application fee.
d) The GATE NOT QUALIFIED and SPONSORED (Full Time) candidates applying for M.
Tech. program should clearly mention in online application form, admit card and
verification card the discipline (Refer Table 2.1 of the information brochure), for which they want to write the written exam. Please note that this discipline will be considered as first option for GATE NOT QUALIFIED and only option for SPONSORED (Full Time) candidates for their admission at the time of counselling.
e) SPONSORED (Full Time) M.Tech./ M.Phil. candidates will have to write the All India Written Test in the subject for which they are being sponsored.
f) Choice of discipline as mentioned in the application form is final. No request for change in the preference will be entertained.
g) SPONSORED (Full Time) M.Tech./M.Phil. candidates are requested to get the consent of present employer on the hard copy of the application form before sending it to ISM.

Unsigned sponsored candidates would be treated as GATE NOT QUALIFIED/NET NOT
QUALIFIED candidates.


APPLICATION FEE ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Note: Two sets of self attested copies (both sides wherever applicable) of all the certificates and mark sheets (including valid GATE/NET score) starting Matriculation/School final examination are to be submitted at the time of admission. The original certificates for each of the documents are to be produced at the time of counselling and admission. The original GATE/ NET Card and Migration Certificate have to be submitted at the time of admission.

Programme Fee for the first semester has to be paid at the time of admission. Caution money and security deposits are refundable only after completion of the programme. Fees for subsequent semesters are to be paid before the commencement of the respective semesters.


The duly filled-in online application form must reach Dy. Registrar (Academic & SW), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad-826004 latest by 6th April 2012. The application forms received after the last date will not be considered and no query/communication will be entertained.

Candidates are instructed to visit ISM Website www.ismdhanbad.ac.in/admissions for
important announcements/results.


SELECTION PROCEDURE
a. The admission to M.Tech. for GATE qualified candidates should be held through counselling.
b. The admission to M. Tech. for GATE NOT QUALIFIED/SPONSORED (Full Time)
candidates will be on the basis of All India Entrance Examination conducted by ISM on 13th May 2012 (Tuesday) followed by counselling.
c. The admission to M.Phil. for NET QUALIFIED candidates should be held through
counselling and/or interview to be held at ISM. Interview will be conducted if number of NET QUALIFIED candidates is more than the number of seats available in each discipline.
d. The admission to M. Phil. Programmes for NET NOT QUALIFIED/SPONSORED (Full Time) candidates will be on the basis of All India Entrance Examination conducted by ISM on 13th May 2012 (Sunday).
e. The All India written test for GATE NOT QUALIIFED /NET NOT QUALIFIED and SPONSORED candidates will be held on 13th May 2012 at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dhanbad, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, Varanasi, Pune, Kochi and Lucknow from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. The medium of examination is English.

f. The pattern of question paper would be as follows:
For M. Tech:
Part A (40 marks) Objective Type: There would be 40 questions of one mark each. The
questions will be basically on elementary science, elementary engineering and computer science.
Part B (60 marks) Objective Type: There would be 60 questions each of one mark for
each discipline and all questions would be compulsory.
For M. Phil. (Applied Physics/Applied Chemistry/Applied Mathematics/English)
Question paper would contain 50 objective type questions. There will be 20 questions of 1 mark each, 10 questions of 2 marks each and 20 questions of 3 marks each.
RESERVATION FOR M.Tech./M.Phil. Programmesa) Reservation for SC/ST/OBC Non Creamy Layer (OB)/PC candidates will be as per Government of India directive/guidelines circulated from time to time, in each programme and will strictly apply.
b) One seat is reserved in each discipline for Physically Challenged (PC) candidate subject to maximum of 3% within the respective category.
c) One seat each of M.Tech and M.Phil is kept reserved for Jammu and Kashmir (JK)
migrants as supernumerary seat.
d) Some seats (Please see table 2.1) are reserved for sponsored candidates (SP) with minimum 2 year experience at the time of application in the relevant field of reputed organizations.
e) One seat of M.Tech. and M.Phil. programme is reserved for Parsi (PS) candidate and one seat for ward/widow or dependents of Defence personnel (DP) (all category) including exservicemen as per Govt of India rules, provided they fulfil eligibility criteria and qualify in the corresponding test.


SPONSORSHIP
With a view to encourage persons working in Industries, the Institute admits a limited number of sponsored candidates to the M.Tech./M.Phil. Programme. It is expected that such candidates after successfully completing the programme, are better equipped to work in organizations sponsoring them. The admission procedure for sponsored candidates will be as follows:
a) They must be from recognized Industrial Organization/Academic Institutions.
b) Performance in Written Test and Interview. The written test and interview will be conducted to examine their knowledge in the discipline of their qualifying degree, which forms the prerequisite for admission to the corresponding specialization of the M.Tech./ M.Phil.Programme.
c) Candidates must have at least two years full time work experience at the time of application in a government organization or companies of repute in the relevant field.
d) There is no age restriction for sponsored candidates but preference will be given to those candidates below 45 years of age.
e) The employer must indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn from the programme before its completion.
f) Sponsorship in this context means retention of lien on the post and grant of suitable allowance/pay etc. by the parent organization.
g) Working candidates on UGC/CSIR/Atomic Energy fellowship etc. shall not be considered as a sponsored candidate.
h) Candidate shall not be allowed to join his organization before the completion of the programme.
