Eligibility:
Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology from a recognized university with
1) atleast 60% marks in aggregate (I to IV Year) or 6.5 CGPA
2) and a valid CAT /MAT score.

Admission Methodology:  
1. Admissions are made on ALL INDIA BASIS.  
2. Selection will be based on valid CAT/MAT score followed by group discussion and personal interview. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1. Candidates awaiting the results of the final semester/year may also apply. But they should submit the final marks list before 15th September, 2014 in case they are selected. Failing to submit all the required certificates before due date will result in cancellation of admission.

2. Applications submitted in any proforma other than the one provided in the Institute web site (www.nitw.ac.in under admissions) or those received after the due date or those, which are incomplete in any respect, will not be considered.

3. Candidates should send their applications by Speed Post / Registered Post super scribing “Application for Admission into MBA - 2014” on the envelope to The Associate Dean-Admissions, National Institute of Technology, Warangal - 506 004, A.P.

4. If two or more candidates obtain the same marks, the aggregate percentage of marks they obtained at the qualifying degree examination, will be the criterion for preference. In case of further tie, elder person by age will be given preference.

5. Reservations for OBC, SC/ST and PWD will be as per the rules of Government of India

6. Applicant should be a citizen of India.

7. Admission of foreign nationals, if any, shall be governed by the rules stipulated by the Government of India from time to time.

8. The Institute is fully residential and all the students shall be required to reside in the institute hostels.

9. Candidates who are provisionally selected for admission will be examined by the Institute Medical Officer and those who fail to satisfy the physical fitness standard prescribed by the Institute will not be admitted.

10. Candidates name will be provisionally included in the rolls only when the selected candidate reports at the Institute for admission, submits all the required certificates, in original, found to be medically fit and pay all the fees and deposits prescribed.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) Admission Notice 2014

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIM Ranchi. This programme has the objective of developing outstanding scholars for teaching or research careers at business schools/universities or management research institutions or careers in Government, industry, NGOs or for that matter any organization that requires advanced analytical and research capabilities. To accomplish this, the FPM will seek to admit students who have a strong academic background, are highly motivated and who have the intellectual curiosity to undertake original research and provide them with knowledge and research skills that can make them specialized researchers with sufficient depth of knowledge in the various existing and emerging management knowledge domains.

FPM of IIM Ranchi is a 4-academic year programme, which includes first two years of rigorous course work, followed by two additional years for completing the research work with dissertation. The first year of the course work is common with IIM Ranchi’s Post Graduate Programme and is aimed at providing a participant with a broad understanding of the field of management. The Second Year of the coursework is to ensure that candidates develop deep understanding in their knowledge domain and ability to do rigorous research in their chosen area of specialization. The Area Comprehensive Examination at the end of the second year is designed to assess whether the candidate has acquired requisite level of proficiency in his/her area of specialization.  In the subsequent years, the candidate works on the doctoral dissertation which is expected to be an original contribution in the area of management.
Students admitted to the programme receive comprehensive financial support that covers all academic and living costs. The Institute has excellent library, computing and faculty resources.

Eligibility
The candidates for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE.
 A candidate for the FPM at IIM Ranchi should have:
  • A Master’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks. Candidates who have MA/M.Sc./M. Phil  in Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, Neuro-Psychology, Sociology, Linguistics, engineering etc. can also apply.OR
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average. OR
  • Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks.
Note: Candidates in their final year of the respective educational programme as mentioned above can also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30 June 2014.
Selection
All candidates applying to the FPM except Alumni of the Post Graduate Programs from all IIMs, graduated in the period of 4 years preceding 30 June 2014, are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of CAT such as GMAT/GATE/UGC or CSIR-JRF. For NRIs and Foreign students this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates will be shortlisted and called for an interview for final selection on the basis of their performance in CAT or the standard test in lieu of CAT, academic background, and experience.
PGPs from IIMs graduated in the period of 4 years preceding 30 June 2014 may be considered for direct admission into the second year of the FPM-based on their academic performance during their PGP.
Financial and Other Supports
IIM Ranchi has excellent facilities in library, computing and faculty resources.
IIM Ranchi provides comprehensive financial and other support to the Fellow Programme students as indicated below:
  • Financial Support for 4 years:
    • Monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000/- per month for the first two years.(Current figure, to be reviewed.)
    • Tuition Waiver
    • In the remaining two years, Rs. 35,000/- per month (Current figure, to be reviewed.) subject to qualifying the Comprehensive examinations at the end of the second year.
    • Support of stipend for an additional 6 months may be made in exceptional cases.
    • The duration of the financial support will be reduced by one year in case of candidates admitted directly into the Second Year of the Programme.
  • Tuition fee waiver for the entire period
  • Accommodation, on payment of a nominal rent of Rs. 1000/- per month, will be provided subject to availability.
  • Contingency allowance of Rs. 25,000/- per annum for 4 years for the purchase of books, stationary etc.
  • Grant of Rs. 50,000/- in the first year for the purchase of computer and software and other peripherals.
  • Financial support up to Rs. 2,00,000/-(Current figure, to be reviewed.) shall be provided for presenting papers in domestic and international conferences during the entire tenure of the Fellow Programme.
The FPM participants have to pay for all consumables which includes stationery, utility charges in hostels, boarding charges etc.

Applicants fulfilling the above criteria will be shortlisted purely based on merit. Selection process comprises of Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD & PI).

Sponsored Candidates:

The candidates shall be selected as per their merit in the Entrance Examination conducted by MGIMS to be held on 20th April 2014 at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad Mumbai, Varanasi & Kolkata. Eligibility:
The candidate must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. DST INSPIRE Faculty Award Scheme 2014

Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, invites applications for INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Faculty Award Scheme 2014 opens up an “Assured Opportunity for Research Career (AORC)” for young researchers in the age group of 27-32 years. The upper age limit as on 1st January 2014 should be 32 years for considering support for a period of 5 years. However, for SC and ST candidates upper age limit will be 35 years. It offers a contractual research awards to young achievers and opportunity for independent research in the near term and emerge as a future leader in the long term.

Each selected INSPIRE Faculty shall be eligible to receive a consolidated amount equivalent to the entry level salary of an Assistant Professor in any IIT system as an Award amount, in addition to a Research Grant of Rs. 7 lakhs per year. The INSPIRE Faculty Award is tenable for a maximum period of 5 (five) years.

Three routes i.e. Direct (A), Nomination (B) and Institution mode are available for applying by the eligible candidates.

Under ‘Institutions Mode’, reputed academic institutions shall be required to adopt and complete the internal process as per guidelines and mechanisms available for the INSPIRE Faculty Award before forwarding names of pre-selected candidates for final selection by the Apex Committee.

Eligible candidate, who wish to be considered in ‘Direct (A)’ and ‘Nominated (B)’ routes, may send applications directly to Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi for consideration.

Nominations from academic institutions or industry R&D through Vice-Chancellors/Directors of Institutions/Heads of Institutions/Presidents and Fellows of Science Academies or Eminent Scientists from India and Abroad based on personal knowledge under ‘Nominated Mode’.

Candidates need to apply through one Mode only, either Direct or Nominations or Institute Mode. Use of more than one Mode shall call for rejection of application.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
(1) Wards of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.

(2) Wards of ex Army personnel granted/ awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/ invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.

(3) Wards of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service.

(4) Adopted /Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows.
(i) Adopted Child of Army personnel who completed 10 years service, adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
(ii) Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army and completed 10 years service.
(iii) Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.

(5) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases.
Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with IN/IAF. Wards of only those ex Army medical officers /Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years.

(6) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel:-
(i) Children of APS personnel classified as exservicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dt 19 Jul 89.
(ii) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(iii) Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have competed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.

(7) Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel.
The following are eligible:-
(i) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular Army MNS Officer or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ii)Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
