Bhabha Atomic
Research Centre (BARC) invites applications for its Ph.D. programme in Basic
Sciences under the aegis of HBNI
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)
is a premier Institution for Research & Development (R&D). The Centre
has been in the forefront of research in Physical, Chemical and Life Sciences.
Several of its state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities are unique
to it.
BARC offers a Ph.D. programme in Basic
Sciences under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to
be University. The Ph.D. programme at BARC consists of one year of course work
and research work leading to a doctoral degree. A minimum performance in the
prescribed course work, corresponding to cumulative marks of 60% and not less
than 50% marks in any individual subject is one of the prerequisites for award
of a Ph.D. degree.
Selection Process :
Selection for the Ph.D. programme is a
two-step process:
Screening for
Physical and Chemical Sciences shall be on the basis of the rank obtained/marks
scored in the UGC-CSIR-JRF NET. Screening for Life Sciences shall be on
the basis of the rank obtained / marks scored in the UGC-CSIR-JRF NET or similar
NET conducted by the DBT, ICAR or ICMR. Additional criteria based on previous
academic performance in the MSc and/or BSc examinations may be used for screening.
Short-listed candidates shall be called
for interview to be conducted in second half of July, 2013 at the BARC
Training School, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai - 400 094.
Applicants called for interview will
not be paid any train / bus fare.
Eligibility
a. Qualifying Degree
and other academic qualifications:
Those having M.Sc. in
Physics/Chemistry/Biology or related science subjects with minimum 60%* marks
in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc. are eligible to apply.
*A minimum of 60%
marks means the marks as per the ordinances of the respective university.
Applicants in the
Physical Sciences should
have a M.Sc. in Physics with Physics and
Mathematics up to B.Sc. or at
subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five years integratedM.Sc.
Applicants in the
Chemical Sciences should
have a M.Sc. in Chemistry with Mathematics up to XII std and Physics up to
B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five years integrated
M.Sc.
Applicants in the Life
Sciences should
have M.Sc. in any one out of Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular
Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding,
Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Sciences and
Biosciences with Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry
up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five year
integrated M.Sc.
Those whose final results of qualifying
degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection, mark sheet of
final result confirming eligibility as above, should be submitted by November
30, 2013.
b. Nationality: Applicant must be a
citizen of India.
c. Fellowship for
undertaking Ph. D. Programme :
Candidates should have a valid fellowship
for undertaking Ph. D. work at BARC, available through the NET examinations
conducted by UGC-CSIR, DBT, ICAR or ICMR, for pursuing the Ph. D. work.

The last
date for receiving application is July 29, 2013.
The list of candidates short-listed for
interview will be displayed on internet (www.hbni.ac.in) and the short-listed
candidates will be sent interview call letters/email by July 10, 2013. However,
even if you do not receive interview call letter, you can come for the
interview with a print out of the list of short-listed candidates if your name
figures in it, with a copy of the application and proof of mailing it.

The Gujarat
Technological University aims at conducting a series of career-oriented
courses, preparing students for various entrepreneurial opportunities in
financial markets. GTU has decided to launch a specialized one-year part-time
Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets Entrepreneurship Course in collaboration
with National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE), which aims at preparing
entrepreneurs for trading in different financial markets segments – on their
own or with market participants. It is a comprehensive course on all major
financial markets that is especially designed to equip an individual with the
desired knowledge, tools and skill sets to become entrepreneurs in a large and
growing field.
The major objectives
of the PGDFME Course are as under:
1. To provide
Knowledge of the Functioning of all major Financial Market Segments, including
Derivatives Markets.
2. To provide
hands-on exposure to practice in financial markets – cash and derivatives
segments.
3. To give the
opportunity to work in a financial technology lab with a simulated trading
environment
using live market
data.
4. To create
financial entrepreneurs and knowledgeable traders in sophisticated financial
products ready with the required financial market skills.
5. To inspire students
to start and run their own entrepreneurial venture for financial markets
investors or market participants

M.Pharm:
A candidate who has passed the B. Pharm degree examination from Kerala
University of Health Sciences or an examination equivalent to of any other
universities recognized by Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less
than a total of 50% marks for the B.Pharm degree
examination shall be eligible for admission to M. Pharm degree course.
The candidate should have undergone B. Pharm degree course in an institution
approved by AICTE and PCI.
Pharm.D.
(PB):
A candidate who has passed the B.Pharm degree examination of KERALA
UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES or an examination equivalent thereto of any other
University recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less
than a total of 50% Marks for B.Pharm Degree examination shall be eligible for
admission to Pharm.D. (PB) course.
The candidate should have undergone B.Pharm in an institution approved
by AICTE and the PCI. Candidates who have passed their B.Pharm course from
Universities outside Kerala will be eligible for admission only if their
qualifying examination is recognized by the Kerala
University of Health Sciences, on the date of application/allotment.
The candidate shall fulfill eligibility before last date of application.
Nationality:
Candidates must be citizens of
India.
Application Forms:
The Application form together with the information brochure, can be
obtained from any of the member colleges of the association, offering M.Pharm
and Pharm.D. (PB) Course, on payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for
each course, by cash or by sending Rs.550/- by way of DD favoring KSSPCMA,
payable at Chalakudy and to such candidates application form and prospectus
will be sent by post. Request for application form by post should reach the
office of the Controller of Selection and Admissions at Al Shifa College of
Pharmacy, Poonthavanam (PO), Kizhattur, Perintalmanna, Malappuram Dt, latest by
the 5PM of 10/07/2013 (extended date)
A candidate needs to buy separate application forms for M.Pharm and
Pharm.D. (PB) course and he/she can submit his/her preferential options in the
format provided.

Selection Procedure:
Preparation of Common merit list and allotment of candidates:
M.Pharm & Pharm.D. (PB)
Admission will be done on the basis of the Score obtained by the
candidates in the GPAT, from among the applicants with eligibility as mentioned
above.
Remaining seats will be filled from among the applicants fulfilling
eligibility criteria on the basis of mark obtained in B.Pharm Course (Aggregate
of IInd, IIIrd and IVth Year B.Pharm).
There is no separate mark for the interview.
Reservation of seats:
1. Reservation of seats if any will be as mentioned in annexure of
respective colleges.
2. Minority Institutions will have the freedom to fix appropriate
reservation to their community. Details are available in the respective
annexure of the respective colleges.
