Anna University, Chennai, has invited applications from Non-Resident Indians/Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin for admission to BE/BTech/BArch Degree Programmes and Post Graduate Degree Programmes for 2009-10 in the following Campuses of Anna University.

For admission to B.E./B.Tech degree (four years) Programmes, applicant must have passed the qualifying examination (10 + 2) of Indian System or its equivalent (completing/completed 12 years of school education). Applicant must have studied in English medium and obtained a pass in the qualifying examination with Good Grades in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for admission to all programmes including Industrial Bio-Technology.

For admission to B.Arch Degree (Five Years), applicant must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects and must have passed the National Aptitude Test conducted by the Council of Architecture, India (www.nata.in). The merit list for B.Arch programme will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the qualifying examination (aggregate of 200) and marks obtained in NATA (aggregate of 200). There are 30 seats for each course. Applicant should be Graduate (3 year Degree course) in any subject of Humanities or Sciences. Those appearing in final year examination can also apply.

Selection to the Programmes will be based on a Written Test, followed by Group Discussion to be held on 17th July, 2009.

The Written Test of 3 hours duration is divided into 2 Sections with Section A having Compulsory Aptitude Test relating to issues/matters/concerns dealing with heritage, both National and International, to be held from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon.

Section B is the Specialized Aptitude Test to be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m, for judging student's knowledge/awareness in History /Culture /Archaeology /Conservation, Preservation, etc. Both, Section A and B will have objective multiple choice questions; short notes and a long essay. The written test will be followed by a Group Discussion from 3 p.m. onwards and the final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks.

Result will be declared on 22.07.2009.  Admission formalities will be completed on 30th and 31st July 2009 and classes will commence on 03.08.2009

Admission Procedure:                        
All the candidates appearing either for Entrance Examination or Direct admission have to submit duly filled admission form with attested photo copies of testimonials. Original testimonials are to be shown at the time of admission. The reservation of seats are as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court's decision.

The selection of candidates for admission to any course in university seat (50% of the total) and payment seats (35% of the total) is made on the merit list prepared on the basis of the Entrance Test conducted by the college on all India basis as per University orders. 15% seats in all the courses are reserved for NRI/Management/Sponsored candidates. There will be no Entrance Test in this category and Direct Admission procedure is followed. Any seat which remains vacant after expiry of stipulated time given to a candidate on waiting list will automatically revert back to the general category.

The final selection is done after conducting the interview/counseling of the candidate by College Admission Committee.

Note:
Candidate (either sex) applying from Jammu and Kashmir and Nepal, have to submit the original document of their police.
Verification issued by the SSP or District Police Authority.
Fees once deposited will not be refunded in any case.

The Department of Social Work is one of the oldest and premier institutions in India offering a two year post graduate degree in social work. This post-graduate course is primarily designed for those who seek opportunities in the field of social welfare and development practice.

Eligibility: The minimum eligibility for admission to the course is 50 percent marks in the Bachelor's Degree Examination (10+2+3). Five percent relaxation shall be provided for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories. Candidates awaiting their final year examination result can also apply.

Selection Procedure: Those satisfying eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through a two stage process involving: (a) Written Test and (b) Group Discussion and Personal Interview. ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

: The National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) started in

1963, is an apex institution under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and

Family Welfare, Government of India. Designated as the WHO Collaborative Centre for

Epidemiology and Training in 1996, the Institute is involved at National and International levels in

developing trained manpower and conducting operational studies. For further details about NICD

The Institute, NICD invites applications from eligible candidates for MPH (FE) course scheduled to

commence on 3 Aug. 2009. The course is affiliated to the GGSIP University.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates possessing MBBS degree from any recognized institution are eligible to

apply for the course.

 

AGE:

The upper age limit is 45 years for in-service candidates and 35 years for others as on August

1, 2009. The upper age limit can be relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years in exceptional cases by the

Admission Officer if he/she is satisfied with the merit of the case.

 

SEATS :

Intake will be limited to a maximum of 15 seats. (The matter regarding increase in

number of seats from 15 to 20 is under consideration of the University

). Of these, two seats are

earmarked for World Health Organization sponsored fellows. For the remaining 13 seats, admission

will be done on the basis of an entrance test. These 13 seats will be distributed in the ratio of 60% for

In-Service Candidates (working in Health Institutions / Organizations in Central / State Government

or Public Sector and having five years experience, of which at least three years should be in Public

Health activities) and 40% for Direct Candidates.

In-Service Candidates shall, at the time of application or counseling for admission, furnish a letter

from their employer that, if they are admitted, they would be relieved for two years for undertaking

the course on a full-time basis at NICD. Reservation will be as per Government/University norms:

27% for Other Backward Classes; 15% for Scheduled Castes; 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes; 5% for

Defence category and 3% for Physically Handicapped Candidates. One seat, which is supernumerary

in nature; is earmarked for Kashmiri migrants; for which the admission will be based on the

Entrance Test.

 

SELECTION

: Selection will be on the basis of an Entrance Test to be conducted on 5 July 2009

(Sunday) in Delhi.

WHO sponsored candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test

and such candidates will be enrolled to the University directly. All other details are available in the

Information Bulletin.

Applicant should be Indian National employed in Kerala and should have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or equivalent. Applicant should be in permanent professional employment with at least two years of professional experience after passing the Diploma Examination in any (i) Government organizations (ii)Quasi- Government Organizations (iii)Industrial firms duly registered under Co-operative Society's Act (iv)Public or Private Limited companies registered under Companies Act (v) Private-aided Polytechnics and Private-aided and un-aided Engineering Colleges in the state and. Employment for a period less than 6 months will not be reckoned for experience. One year Apprenticeship Training under Apprenticeship Act will be taken in lieu of experience on production of certificate issued by the head of the organization.

In the absence of eligible candidates with the condition specified above, those with prescribed qualifications and two years common working experience in Government/ any established organization in the State will be considered. Relevant proof in respect of EPF/Welfare Fund Subscription details should be attached. In this case no weightage for service will be given.

Institute of Chemical Technology [ICT], Nathalal Parekh Marg, Matunga, Mumbai-400019, a Deemed-to-be-University, has invited applications for admission to the seats reserved for candidates to be admitted through AIEEE in various Under Graduate courses at the Institute.

The Courses to which 30% of the total sanctioned intake capacity will be allotted under AIEEE quota include,  B.Chem.Engg and B.Tech in Dyes (Dyestuff Technology), Textile (Fibres & Textile Processing Technology), Foods (Food Engineering and Technology), Oils (Oils, Oleochemicals & Surfactants Technology), Pharma (Pharmaceutical Sciences & Technology), Polymer (Polymer Engineering & Technology) and Coatings (Surface Coating Technology). There are 41 seats to be filled based on AIEEE of which 33 are open and 8 are reserved for SC/ST. Details are given in the Prospectus.

Applicant should have appeared for the AIEEE examination 2009 and should have AIEEE- 2009 Score card with non-zero score. Allotment of seats of B.Chem Engg and of all the branches within B. Tech. is made at the time of counseling to be done at the ICT, strictly by merit. Reservation in admission for SC/ST categories is applicable as per Govt. norms. Separate merit lists will be prepared for candidates of SC/ST categories. Interested candidates must be present in person at the time of counselling. If the candidate is unable to attend the counselling round, he/she should authorize a person as per Proforma A to remain present for counselling.

Admission Form and Prospectus can be purchased from the Account Section of the Institute on payment of Rs.900/- (Rs.450/- for Backward Category Classes, applicable to the candidates from the State of Maharashtra only), in cash. Those requiring the materials by Post, must send a Pay Order/DD for Rs.950/- (Rs.500/- for Backward Category Classes, applicable to the candidates from the State of Maharashtra only), drawn in favour of 'The Director, ICT', payable at Mumbai.

Each eligible candidate who has submitted application form in the prescribed format on or before the last date prescribed for the submission of application form will be assigned a Merit Number. There will be a Common merit lists for B. Chem. Engg and the seven branches of B. Tech, separately for General and Reserved category, on the basis of marks scored at AIEEE 2009.

The provisional merit lists will be displayed on the Notice Board of ICT and at the website www.udct.org after 6 working days from the closing date for submission of the admission forms. Candidate should carefully check his/ her information in the provisional merit list displayed on the website. Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala has invited applications for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Engineering offered at College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Architecture), TKM College of Engineering, Kollam (Mechanical, Civil), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics) and Government Engineering College, Thissur (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical).

The course duration is 24 months consisting of 4 semesters. During the final semester, every student will be required to submit thesis/ dissertation based on the project he/she undertakes.

Applicant should be an Indian National and should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities. For Industrial Engineering & Management, the candidates shall have B.Tech Degree in any Engineering discipline, but for other branches the candidates shall have Degree in the respective branches of engineering awarded by the Universities of Kerala, or equivalent. Applicants should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient.

Candidates, who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examinations are eligible for admission to institutions under Kerala University subject to the conditions that (i) They must have valid GATE score (ii) A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination (iii) Minimum three years of Professional experience in the field of Specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.

Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination can also apply, provided they have passed all the subjects upto and including the 7th semester exam. Such candidates shall submit self attested copies of all mark lists up to 7th semester along with the application. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree on or before September 30, 2009.

Admission shall normally be restricted to those with valid GATE score. However, this stipulation is relaxed in the case of Sponsored candidates. In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies.

Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Master of Planning (Housing) Degree course. Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Environmental Engineering. Graduates in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation will be considered for admission to all specializations in Electronics and Communication Engineering branch. Degree in Instrumentation & Control/Biomedical Instrumentation/ Electronics and Biomedical Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Applied Electronics and Instrumentation.

Applications should be filled on line latest by 5 pm on 15th June 2009, at www.dtekerala.gov.in. After submitting the application online, a printout of the filled up application should be taken and sent to the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, along with copies of the documents specified in the Prospectus and a Demand Draft for Rs. 250/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST), from any Nationalized bank, drawn in favour of the Director, Department of Technical Education, Trivandrum payable at Trivandrum, to reach latest by 4pm on 18th June 2009.

Allotment list will be prepared and published at the institutions, as well as in the websites, www.technicaleducationkerala.gov.in and www.cet.ac.in.
