B.Tech Evening ADMISIONS 2009-2010
in Kerala

Director to Technical Education, Kerala has invited applications for admission to the Evening Degree Courses in Engineering in Kerala for Diploma holders. The Course extends over four academic years. Classes will be conducted normally in the evening on all working days and on holidays, if necessary, in accordance with the syllabi of the concerned Universities.

4. Government College of Engg, Kannur (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication)

The Specialization in Diploma Branch and Equvalancy for B.Tech Admission will be as follows:

Diploma in Applied Electronics, Electronics, Medical Electronics, Electronics and Avionics, Telecommunication Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Medical Instrumentation, Electronics Production Technology, Medical Instrumentation, Power electronics, Biomedical Engineering- B.Tech Electronics  & Communication Engineering

Diploma in Civil, Architecture, Quantity Survey and Construction management- B. Tech Civil Engineering

Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Tool and Die, Wood and Paper Technology – B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Application and Business Management, Computer Hardware Maintenance, Information Technology- B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering

Diploma in Electrical, Instrument Technology- B.Tech Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Diploma in Chemical Engineering – B.Tech Chemical Engineering

Applicant should be Indian National employed in Kerala and should have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or equivalent. Applicant should be in permanent professional employment with at least two years of professional experience after passing the Diploma Examination in any (i) Government organizations (ii)Quasi- Government Organizations (iii)Industrial firms duly registered under Co-operative Society's Act (iv)Public or Private Limited companies registered under Companies Act (v) Private-aided Polytechnics and Private-aided and un-aided Engineering Colleges in the state and. Employment for a period less than 6 months will not be reckoned for experience. One year Apprenticeship Training under Apprenticeship Act will be taken in lieu of experience on production of certificate issued by the head of the organization.

In the absence of eligible candidates with the condition specified above, those with prescribed qualifications and two years common working experience in Government/ any established organization in the State will be considered. Relevant proof in respect of EPF/Welfare Fund Subscription details should be attached. In this case no weightage for service will be given.

Application is to be submitted online at www.dtekerala.gov.in latest by 10th June 2009. Prospectus can be downloaded from www.technicaleducationkerala.gov.in or from www.cet.ac.in.

The print out of the filled up application form along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- (RS.125/- for SC/ST), preferably from State Bank of Travancore/Nationalized bank, drawn in favour of the Director, Dept. of Technical Education, Trivandrum payable at Trivandrum and documents specified in the Prospectus, should reach The Principal, B.Tech (Evening) Courses, College of Engineering, Trivandrum-695016, by registered post or by hand delivery latest by 5 pm on 15th June 2009.

Institutional allotment will be done based on the rank and the candidate's preference to the institution and will be published at the institutions as well as in the websites www.technicaleducationkerala.gov.in and www.cet.ac.in. Allotment letter can be downloaded from the website www.cet.ac.in.

If the number of candidates opted for any branch in an institution is less than half of the sanctioned intake, the course will not be conducted at that institution.
