Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala has invited applications for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Engineering offered at College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Architecture), TKM College of Engineering, Kollam (Mechanical, Civil), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics) and Government Engineering College, Thissur (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical).

The course duration is 24 months consisting of 4 semesters. During the final semester, every student will be required to submit thesis/ dissertation based on the project he/she undertakes.

Applicant should be an Indian National and should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities. For Industrial Engineering & Management, the candidates shall have B.Tech Degree in any Engineering discipline, but for other branches the candidates shall have Degree in the respective branches of engineering awarded by the Universities of Kerala, or equivalent. Applicants should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient.

Candidates, who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examinations are eligible for admission to institutions under Kerala University subject to the conditions that (i) They must have valid GATE score (ii) A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination (iii) Minimum three years of Professional experience in the field of Specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.

Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination can also apply, provided they have passed all the subjects upto and including the 7th semester exam. Such candidates shall submit self attested copies of all mark lists up to 7th semester along with the application. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree on or before September 30, 2009.

Admission shall normally be restricted to those with valid GATE score. However, this stipulation is relaxed in the case of Sponsored candidates. In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies.

Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Master of Planning (Housing) Degree course. Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Environmental Engineering. Graduates in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation will be considered for admission to all specializations in Electronics and Communication Engineering branch. Degree in Instrumentation & Control/Biomedical Instrumentation/ Electronics and Biomedical Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation Engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Applied Electronics and Instrumentation.

Applications should be filled on line latest by 5 pm on 15th June 2009, at www.dtekerala.gov.in. After submitting the application online, a printout of the filled up application should be taken and sent to the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, along with copies of the documents specified in the Prospectus and a Demand Draft for Rs. 250/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST), from any Nationalized bank, drawn in favour of the Director, Department of Technical Education, Trivandrum payable at Trivandrum, to reach latest by 4pm on 18th June 2009.

Allotment list will be prepared and published at the institutions, as well as in the websites, www.technicaleducationkerala.gov.in and www.cet.ac.in.

Allotment letter should be downloaded from the website www.cet.ac.in. Selected candidates have to join the college on or before the last date.

Sponsored candidates, if any, will be admitted as per relevant Government orders. Seats remaining unfilled in the sponsored category will be filled up by candidates sponsored by Government controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges on production of sponsorship certificate from the concerned institution and on the basis of aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
