1. The Sponsored candidate in addition to the fulfillment of eligibility conditions as specified above must have a minimum of one year of full-time work experience in a registered firm / company / industry / any Government Department/ Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought after the completion of qualifying examination as on 7/7/09.
2. A letter from employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to seek admission in MTech (IT)/M/Tech (CSE) Full time programme.
Admission Criteria:
1. For normal seats, Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the valid GATE SCORE. If seats remain vacant after admitting students with valid GATE score, then the admission for vacant seats shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying degree subject to securing of a minimum of 60% marks
2. For sponsored seats, Merit list will be prepared on the following basis :
Percentage of Marks secured in the qualifying examination, calculated on a hundred point scale;
One marks each for an additional year of experience but up to a maximum of ten additional marks. The maximum marks will be 110. The cut off date for counting the experience shall be 07/07/2009.

MTech (Information Technology) (Lateral Entry)
Eligibility: -the candidates applying for lateral entry must be throughout first class securing 60% marks or above in 10th class &12th class/diploma and 70% marks or above in BTech exam (2009) from the affiliating colleges and constituent college (IGIT) of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University:
The students pursuing BTech (CSE), BTech (IT) and BTech (ECE) would be eligible to take admission in this programme as a lateral entry.
Admission Criteria:
The admission will be made on the basis of the marks in the qualifying examination ie, BTech and the interview to be conducted by the USIT.
The distribution of weight ages is as below:
1. 75% weightage ( Cumulative Performance index) would be given to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and
2. 25% to the interview. The candidate must secure a minimum of 70% marks in the interview to be conducted by a Committee of Experts.
