Eligibility

Candidates must not be more than 45 year as on 1st July 2011 and must qualify the following eligibility tracks :


1. A Bachelors Degree with atleast 50 percent marks, and


2. Masters degree (minimum two years prescribed duration after 10+2+3 years of formal education) in relevant discipline (relevancy has to be decided by the IIFM) with at least 55% marks including Five year/Four year Integrated masters Degree programme and with good academic records. (OR)


4 year/8 Semester B.Tech/ B.E with 60% Marks or Equivalent OGPA. (OR)


Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with atleast 55% marks. (OR)


For IIFM Graduates, who have done PGDFM and IIM graduates who have done PGDM, the minimum OGPA of 3.00 in 4.33 maximum scale, is required. (OR)


For MRM Post graduates from IIFM, with 3.00 CGPA.


Note: For those qualifications where the above 4.33 scale is not available, the eligibility will be decided by the Equivalence Committee constituted by the Director, IIFM and its decision will be final.

Selection of open and overseas candidate is based on two stage processes.
At the first stage candidates will be called for interviews based on the following criteria: academic background, CAT / GMAT /GRE scores, work experience, achievements (academic and career related).
Selected open candidates will be called for interview in Delhi or Bangalore and they will be required to do a Case Analysis on the interview date. Interviews for overseas candidates will be arranged through video Conference/Skype mode at a mutually convenient date and time.

Government Sponsored Candidates:
The government sponsored candidates are expected to write an essay on a public policy issue which they think is important and should submit the same with the application form through the Department for Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.

University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of 1000 PG Scholarships under the scheme of PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC & ST candidates for the year 2011-2012 to undertake postgraduate level studies in professional subjects like Engineering & Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc. on regular basis only.

Only those candidates who have been admitted in postgraduate professional subjects at recognised universities/ colleges during the academic session 2011-12 are eligible to apply under the scheme.

Selection will be made on the basis of merit by the Expert Committee. The guidelines of the scheme, detailed terms and conditions of the Scholarship, eligibility etc. may be seen by logging in the UGC website at www.uqc.ac.in

Applications in the prescribed format may be submitted only through on line mode latest by 27th October, 2011 (non extendable) by logging in website www.uqc.ac.in/pgsprof

The decision of the Commission with regard to selection of candidates for the award of scholarships shall be final.

The Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2011 at 41 Centres throughout the country on 09.10.2011 (Sunday).


Letters of rejection stating the reason(s) for rejection have also been issued. If any candidate has not received either the Admission Certificate or rejection letter, he/she may contact UPSC Facilitation Counter near Gate 'C of its campus in person or on Telephone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125 or 011-23098543 on all working days between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs.

2. Information regarding venues of Examination is also available on Union Public Service Commission's Website at http://www.upsc.gov.in.

The eligible candidates who have not received the Admission Certificates may download the "Venue Information" from the above mentioned website and use it for appearing in the examination.

The candidates intending to appear in the examination using downloaded "Venue Information" are advised to reach the venue of their examination on the day of examination. Such candidates are also advised to carry two identical photographs (one photograph for each session), otherwise they may not be allowed to take the examination. They may also carry proof of their identity such as identity card, Voter Identity Card, Driving Licence, Passport etc to the venue of the Examination.

MOBILE PHONES BANNED:-
(a) Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future UPSC examinations.
(b) Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured.

4th Radio Astronomy Winter School for College and University Students (RAWSE-2011)

The 4th Radio Astronomy Winter School for College & University Students (RAWSE-2011) will be held at Radio Physics Laboratory (RPL), a joint initiative of inter-university centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA) and National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), during December 26, 2011 - January 2012 at Pune.

WHO CAN APPLY: Under Graduate and Graduate students in Science (those enrolled in B.Sc or M.Sc Physics/Electronics/Astronomy) and Engineering (BE/B.Tech). Bright and highly motivated high school/junior college students, involved in amateur astronomy are also encouraged to apply.

HOW TO APPLY: There are TWO steps in the application procedure. Candidates must first register by entering their name and e-mail address in the appropriate registration boxes at http://wm.ncra.tifr.res.in:8080/RAWS2011/candidate/ApplyOnline.ncra.

An Online ID number and a password will then be automatically sent to the candidates e-mail address; these must both be entered in order to fill out the Online Application Form. The Application Form also requires the names and e-mail addresses of two referees. When the form is submitted, e-mails will be automatically sent to the two referees requesting them to fill and submit the online Confidential Assessment Form.

The candidates should inform their referees about the Confidential Assessment Form. Note that each applicant must submit his/her Application Form before the referee fills the Confidential Assessment Form. Based on the applications and referee assessments, a subset of the candidates will be short-listed and invited for attending the Radio Astronomy Winter School.

(a) A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline.

(b) Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 9, 2012, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes (except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies) provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. (c) Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have a (i) Master’s degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.
