BTech (Part Time) Entrance Examination-2010
 
Eligibility:
Delhi Technological University will hold an Entrance Examination for admission to first year of the four year BTech (Part-time) Degree Program in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication Engineering, for the academic year 2010-2011 on 20.06.2010 (Sunday). The candidates, who
1.      Have passed State Diploma Examination in Engineering of three years duration &
2.      Have served for a period of not less than One year as on 1st day of October, 2010 in an established engineering works/organization, located in the NCT of Delhi and contiguous industrial areas shall be eligible to appear in the entrance examination.
 
How To Apply:
The bulletin of information containing details of the admission procedure, Application form and Syllabi of the Entrance Examination is available from B. Tech (Part-time) office, Room No FW1-FF4, Electrical Engineering Department, wef 15.04.2010 on all working days (Monday to Saturday) between 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm on submission of Crossed Bank Draft/pay order of Rs 750/- issued from State Bank of India only drawn in favour of 'The Co-ordinator BTech (evening) Entrance Examination-2010' payable at Delhi.

Candidates desirous of obtaining the Bulletin of Information by post should send their request to the Deputy Co-ordinator (Admn), BTech (Part-time) Office, Room No. FW1-FF4, Electrical Engineering Department, Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042 enclosing therewith a self addressed envelope (25 cm X 18 cm) and a crossed Bank Draft/Pay Order for Rs 800/- from State Bank of India only. Important Dates:

IMPORTANT

1. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION:
The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility condition for admit on to examination.  Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional  subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions
Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.
 
Commission take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test.

2. How to apply:
(a)  Candidates who wish to apply Offline must apply in the Common Application form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20/- (Rupees Twenty only).  Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination. 

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post Master or UPSC's "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL" over Telephone No. 011-23389366/FAX No. 011-23387310.  
(b)  Candidates except certain categories mentioned in para 5(c) can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in.  Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned website.

Candidates are advised to read carefully the "Instructions for filling up the Offline Application Form" given in Appendix-II (A) and Instructions for Online Applications given in Appendix II (B) of this notice. 

3. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:
(a) Offline:
All offline applications must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi - 110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 17th May 2010.
Candidates should note that applications will be received by hand, only one at a time, at the designated counter(s) and not in bulk, till 5 PM only.      
However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in para 6 of this Notice the last date for receipt of application by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 24th May 2010.


(a) Online: 
The online Applications can be filled upto 10th May 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.
4.  PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS:
Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
5. FACILITATION COUNTER  FOR GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES:
In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near  gate 'C' of its campus in person or over Telephone No. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.

6. MOBILE PHONES BANNED:
(a)  Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination is being conducted.  Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.
(b) Candidates are advised in their own interest not be bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangement for safekeeping cannot be assured.

7. Candidates are advised not bring any valuables/costly items to the examination halls, as safe keeping of the same cannot be assured.  Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.

Conditions of Eligibility:
(a) Nationality:
A candidate must either be:
a Citizen of India, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.


Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Govt. before declaration of result by UPSC.  
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
(i) For IMA-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1987 and not later than 1st July, 1992 only are eligible.
(ii) For Naval Academy-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 (2nd July, 1987 in case of NCC/Naval Wing "C" Certificate holders) and not later than 1st July, 1992 only are eligible.
(iii) For Air Force Academy-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1st July, 1992 only are eligible.
(iv) For Officers Training Academy-(SSC Course for Men): Male candidates (married or unmarried born not earlier than 2nd July, 1986 and not later than 1st July, 1992 only are eligible.
(v) For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Women Non-Technical Course):

Educational Qualifications:

(i)  For IMA and Officers" Training Academy-Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii)  For Naval Academy: B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

How To Apply:
(a) The UPSC have developed an application form common for all their examinations which can be processed on computerised machines. This application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the  application is  obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices of Notice against cash payment of Rs 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination. Candidates, who wish to apply offline, must use the form supplied with the Information Brochure only and they should in no case use photocopy/reproduction/unauthorized printed copy of the Form. Since this form is electronically scannable, due care should be taken to fill up the application form correctly. While filling up the application form, please refer to detailed instructions of this Notice. The candidates should also fill up in the relevant places of the Acknowledgement Card, their Application Form Number (8-digit) and the name of the examination. The applicants are required to affix the postage stamp of Rs 6/- on the acknowledgement card and send the same along with application form to UPSC.  If an applicant fails to affix the postage stamp of requisite amount, his acknowledgement card will not be dispatched and Commission will not be responsible for non-receipt of acknowledgement card by applicant.  The duly filled in application form and the acknowledgement card along with unstamped self-addressed envelope to receive a SSB interview call letter should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure. You should also write the name of examination viz. 'Combined Defence Services Examination-(II) 2010' on the envelope before dispatching it to 'Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road,  New Delhi-110069'.  
(b) Candidates can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in.  Detailed Instructions for filling up the Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website. 
(c) All candidates (except those serving in Armed Forces) should submit their   applications   direct to the Commission. If any candidate forwards his application through his employer and it reaches the Union Public Service Commission late, the application, even if submitted to the employer before the closing date, will not be considered. Persons serving under the Public Enterprises are however, required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for this Examination. Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the Commission withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected/candidature will be liable to be cancelled.  

Candidates serving in the Armed Forces must submit their application through their Commanding Officer who will forward it to the Commission indicating in the forwarding letter the name of the applicant and his application form number (8 digit). Failure to comply with this instruction will entail cancellation of his candidature/rejection of his application.  
Candidates serving in the Armed Forces, who cannot apply to the Commission direct, must apply through Common Application Form and not online.
 

Note: Application not accompanied by the Prescribed fee (Unless Remission of Fee is claimed as in para 4 above) or incomplete or Defective applications shall be summarily rejected.

No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are not required to submit along with their applications any certificate in support of their claims regarding Age, Educational qualifications, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC and fee remission etc.

Written examination and interview test   will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination or interview test, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the commission.
 
Last date for receipt of APPLICATIONS:
A Offline:
(i) The completed offline application form must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi 110069 on or before 17th May 2010.
(ii) In respect of offline applications received only by post (by post/speed post) from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep or abroad, the last date for receipt of applications is 24th May 2010. The benefit of extended time will be available only in respect of applications received by post/speed post from the above mentioned areas/regions. In the case of applications received by hand or through courier service, benefit of extended time will not be available regardless of the place of residence of the applicant.
 

Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in column 13 (II) of the application form, the area code of the particular area or region (e.g. Assam, Meghalaya, J&K etc.) where they are residing. In case they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.
 
Acknowledgement of applications:
Immediately on receipt of an application from a candidate, the Acknowledgement Card submitted by him along with the application form will be despatched to him by the Commission"s office duly stamped in token of receipt of his Application. If a candidate does not receive the Acknowledgement Card within 30 days, he should at once contact the Commission by quoting his Application Form No. (8-digit) and name & year of examination. Candidates delivering the application form in person at the Commission"s Counter will be issued Acknowledgement Card at the Counter itself. The mere fact that a candidate"s application has been acknowledged by the Commission does not mean that his candidature for the examination has been accepted by the Commission. Candidates will be informed at the earliest possible about their admission to the examination or rejection of their application.

SELECTION:
The admissions for Ph.D. will be based on performance in the entrance exam conducted by the department mentioned in para 1 of application form followed by interview. For M. Tech. it will be based on interview.

Application fee of Rs. 200/-(Rs. 100/- for SC/ST candidates) per programme is required to be paid by means of DD drawn in the favour of "Vice Chancellor, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, PUNE - 25", payable at State Bank of India, Ginnagar Branch(Code 02155), PUNE - 411 025. The candidates are requested to wnte their name and department (or name of sub-discipline in case of Ph.D. applicant), for which they are applying for on the reverse of the draft. Duly filled application form along with necessary enclosures should reach to the Registrar, DIAT, Girinagar, PUNE-411025 by 30 Apr 2010. Separate applications must be filled for different programme.

Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2010-11)

As per Mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity (Amendment) Rules, 1981
 

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN?
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector. Besides, the course shall enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineers sponsored by the State Electricity Boards, Power Utilities etc.


ABOUT THE COURSE:
This is a modular course of one-year duration. Formal coaching is held at Regional Institutes of NPTI Located at 1. Nagpur (Maharashtra). 2. Badarpur (New Delhi) 3. Durgapur (WB) 4. Neyveli (TN) 5. Guwahati (Assam) and 6. Nangal (Punjab). On-job training is conducted at the nearby Thermal Power Stations and the training on state-of-the-art Simulator at NPTI Faridabad/Badarpur/Nagpur. The course profile covers the mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity Amendment Rules 1981, which stipulates "No person shall be authorized to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-station unless he is adequately qualified and has undergone the specified training at a recognized Institute".
 
Eligibility: BTech / BE or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Power / Control and Instrumentation Engineering. Those appearing in their final year examination can also apply. However, they must submit their provisional degree at the time of counseling.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Merit based on a Common Entrance Test (CET) result followed by counseling. CET will be held on 20/06/2010 at 8 centres (Faridabad, Badarpur, Nagpur, Durgapur, Neyveli, Bangalore, Guwahati and Nangal.)

AGE LIMIT: For non-sponsored candidates the age limit as on 31/08/2010 is 30 years. No age limit forthe sponsored candidates.

TOTAL SEATS: 340 Reservation for OBC/SC/ ST/ physically challenged as per Govt of India norms. 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power Utilities having more than one year experience as on the date of counseling and more than 60% marks in Engineering Degree. Applicant should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST) and should attain 17 years of age by 31st December 2010. Those who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) may also apply subject to the publication of the result of their examination before the admission and securing of the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof.

Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

A total of 93 seats are available of which 14 seats are reserved for those nominated from Jammu and Kashmir (1), Manipur (1), Meghalaya (1), Mizoram (2), Nagaland (1), Sikkim (1), Tripura (2), Andaman and Nicobar Island (1), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1), Lakshadweep (1) and Puducherry (1).  Six seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals of which 5 are for candidates from Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical & Economic Co-operation (BIMSTEC) countries nominated by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi and 1 seat for Foreign National candidate under self-financing scheme nominated by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Ten seats are reserved for candidates sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt.of India. (If no candidates are sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka, these seats shall remain vacant; no other candidate will be admitted against these seats).

The remaining seats (63) will be filled through an All-India Admission Test of 3 hours duration to be held at Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Bhopal on 6th June, 2010 (Sunday) and having 200 multiple choice types questions from Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60), Biology (60) and General Knowledge (20). There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

In case the number of candidates opted for a particular centre are less, then the centres at Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Bhopal will be cancelled and the candidates will be allotted the nearest centre. Accordingly those who opt for Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Bhopal have to mention his/her 2nd choice of centre of examination from amongst Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

Reservation including to those belonging to Orthopaedically challenged (OH)/OBC category will be made as per extant reservation instructions. Those who are desirous of availing such reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority along with a declaration that she/he does not belong to creamy layer of the society. PATTERN AND MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION

Test is of two hours duration and has two parts. The first part is objective type consisting of 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 1 hour and the second part consists of 15 short answer questions, out of which, 10 are to be answered in the remaining 1 hour. The question will be at the level of the qualifying Bachelor's Degree Course. Medium of the examination is English, except for languages.

Christian Medical College, Ludhiana has invited applications for admission to the MBBS/BDS/B.Sc Nursing/Bachelor of Physiotherapy courses at the Institute for 2010. There are 50 seats for MBBS, 40 for BDS, 60 for B.Sc. Nursing and 20 for Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Admission to UG courses will be based on merit obtained in the Under Graduate Admission Written Test (UG-AWT-2010) to be conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society from 2 pm to 4.30 pm, on 23rd May 2010, at Allahabad, Amritsar, Bathinda, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi. Candidates should report to the allotted Centre by 1.30 pm. Bible Test for Christian applicants will be held from 4.45 pm to 5.15 pm, on the same day. All Christian applicants need to remain seated after the UG-AWT-2010 till 5.20 pm.

Applicants must be citizen of India. Persons of Indian Origin with Citizenship of other countries may apply under NRI category for which a separate Prospectus is available. No other Foreign National will be admitted.

Applicants must be at least 17 years of age on 31st December 2010. Those born after 31st December 1993 are not eligible to apply for admission to Undergraduate courses starting in July 2010.Applicant for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination, as per MCI Regulations 1997.

For admission to B.Sc. Nursing and BPT courses, applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Backward Classes need only 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination.

All MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing candidates selected through UG AWT 2010 in any category, are required to enter into a service agreement without which admission will not be granted. Service Agreement is for a minimum period of two years after completion of the course in a hospital or in an institution managed by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society or its member Body/Church.

Applicant should complete 17 years of age on or before the first day of December 2010 and should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination PUC II/HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/HSC examination of any recognized Board/University from any School/College situated in India/Abroad after 12 years of study and should have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually & must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. Candidate should also secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together at KLEU-AIET-2010 for admission to BDS course.

Those seeking admission to MBBS course should have scored 50% marks in English language and a minimum of 65% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. Those who have appeared for 12th/PUC II/ 10+2/ HSC/ equivalent examination and are awaiting their results may appear for entrance exam subject to their securing minimum 65% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% marks in English in the qualifying examination.

Those who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination but whose results have not been declared can also appear for KLEU-AIET-2010, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination.

Applications who have been admitted to class 12th /PUCII/10+2/HSC/Equivalent earlier than April 2007, passed the same earlier than April 2008 are not eligible for apply. The seats reserved for SC/ST are only for those belonging to SC/ST category of Karnataka state. Eligibility criteria for students belonging to SC/ST category will be in accordance with rules framed by respective regulating councils. Details of reservation of seats can be seen in the Brochure.

The research activity in the Institute centers around the areas of theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics, nuclear physics, and high energy physics.
One of the important objectives of the Institute has been to train and guide young scholars for research in physics. For this, the Institute has regular one year Pre-doctoral (post M.Sc.) course work and Doctoral research program for those who successfully complete the Pre-Doctoral course. The Institute campus has hostels for the Pre-doctoral and the Doctoral scholars.

National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of the twenty NITs of the India, established in 1986 as Regional Engineering College, as a joint and cooperative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. Eligibility:

For M. Tech./M. Arch. Programs

The applicant must have a Bachelor degree in Technology/ Engineering/ AMIE in appropriate discipline or a Master degree in appropriate discipline for M.Tech. and Bachelor degree in Architecture/ Planning/ Engineering or AMIE in appropriate discipline or a Master degree in appropriate discipline for M. Arch. with CGPI of 6.75 on 10-point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded.

The candidates appearing in the final examination of their bachelor program in 2010 can also apply, and if selected can join the program provisionally. Such candidates shall submit the CGPI/marks obtained till date.

Ph.D. in Engineering:

The applicant must have a Master degree in Engineering/Technology with marks/CGPI not below 60 % or 6.75 on a 10 point scale. Applicant with a Bachelor degree in Engineering or Masters Degree in Applied Science or any appropriate discipline with a minimum of 75%
marks / 8.0 CGPI with sufficient experience and publications can also apply.

Ph.D. in Architecture:

The applicant must have a Bachelors degree in Architecture and Master degree in Architecture/ Planning with marks/CGPI not below 60 % or 6.75 on a 10 point scale. Applicant with a Bachelor degree in Architecture or any appropriate discipline with a minimum of 75% marks / 8.0 CGPI with sufficient experience and publications can also apply.

Ph.D. in Applied Science:

The applicant must have a Master Degree in the relevant Science subject with marks/CGPI not below 60% or 6.75 on a 10 point scale. Applicant with Bachelor Degree in Engineering or in an allied field with a minimum of 75% marks/8.0 CGPI with sufficient experience and publications can also apply.

For MBA: The applicant must have a Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or MCA with CGPI of 6.75 on 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded.

How to Apply:
The applicants shall apply for admission on the prescribed forms which can be downloaded from Institute website. The duly completed application must reach the office of Dean(Academic) latest by 06-05-2010(Thursday) upto 5.30PM.

The form should be sent along with a crossed Bank Draft/IPO for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Registrar, NIT, Hamirpur (HP)-177 005, payable at State Bank of India, NIT Hamirpur (Branch Code No.10367).

Symbiosis International ( Deemed University) announces for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) - a mandatory common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate institutes of the university.

Name of Institutes where SET score is mandatory for admission-

• Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences.[SIHS]
• Symbiosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research[SICSR]
• Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies[SCMS-UG]
• Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication [SIMC-UG]
• Symbiosis School of Economics [SSE]
• Symbiosis Institute of Design [SID]

A candidate aspiring to pursue an undergraduate programme at Symbiosis needs to follow the 3 stages mentioned below:

Stage-1: SET Test
• Register online at www.set-test.org
• You may register for one paper in the morning viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper in the afternoon session viz. General or Design.
For Engineering and Health Sciences, if a candidate wishes to offer scores other than SET, he/she need not register for SET and apply directly to the concerned institute.
• You need to upload a scanned photograph of yours at the time of registration.
• Follow the instructions for payment of Test fee of Rs. 1400/- on the SET website. This includes charges for a prospectus of the Undergraduate programmes at Symbiosis International (Deemed University)
• Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology must register at SET even if they offer JEE or AIEEE scores. They need to pay the prospectus fee of Rs. 500/-
• Print "Admit Card" directly from the website from April 21, 2010 to May 2, 2010.
• Bring the Admit Card and a Photo Identity to the Test Center. It will be authenticated during the Test.
(Candidates shall preserve the authenticated Admit Card till the Admission processes of the desired Symbiosis Institutes are over. If the Admit card is lost, no duplicate Admit Card will be issued.)
• Appear for the Test.

Stage-2: Apply online to the desired SlU's constituent institutes.
• The SET website allows a facility to directly apply online to an institute.
• Candidates may apply also from the institute website.
• To apply to an institute, a candidate must register for the relevant SET paper. For example, to apply to Symbiosis Law School, register for Law paper at SET.
• Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) or Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) with other than SET-2010 score should refer to the institute websites and apply.

Stage-3: Attend further selection process of the chosen institutes, if called.
• Each institute has its own weightages for arriving at a cutoff, depending on its focused field as mentioned in the prospectus of each constituent institute.
• The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process.
• The individual institute as per their schedules will announce short List & Waiting Lists.
• For details of selection process and schedules please refer to the website of respective institute/s.

Important
• While adequate care is taken in ensuring that there are no mistakes in reading the answer sheet by the scanning machine, there is no provision of revaluation of the answer sheet of any candidate.
• The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
• The SET Score card will be available on the website for a period of one month from the date of declaration of results i.e. from May 15, 2010 to June 15, 2010.
• Those candidates paying through cash or DD, should ensure that

1. Axis Bank Challan for cash payment, OR
2. Demand Draft along with Payment Advice Form for DD payment reaches Symbiosis Test Secretariat by 18th April 2010.
Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be held responsible for non-delivery or any delay on the part of Courier / Postal Services.

Symbiosis Entrance Test SET 2010 Structure

a. Duration: SET duration is 150 minutes.
b. SET is an objective test.
c. Papers: SET is conducted in two sessions for FIVE question papers.
A candidate may apply to take one paper from each session.
d. Institutes: The constituent institutes use scores of the following for admission.

SET is an aptitude test and is objective in nature for all the paper except Design. Each question has four options as answers. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. All sections are Mandatory.

How to Register For Symbiosis Entrance Test SET 2010
Step 1. A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper from the afternoon session viz. General or Design Register at www.set-test.org This will generate your SET ID.
You need to upload latest scanned photograph (in the given format and size) of own at the time of online registration.

Step 2. Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1400/- towards the Test Fee and the prospectus of undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).The SIDU Admission Cell will courier a copy of prospectus to the address registered at www.set-test.org

You have four (4) choices for payment. For different modes of payment, different 'Payment Advice' formats are created. Choose a payment mode and print a 'Payment Advice' form online.

1. CASH:
This 'Payment Advice' form is in three parts. Pay Rs. 1400/- in cash at Axis Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two parts of the 'Payment Advice' form to you. The 'Student copy' is your receipt.
Sign the Symbiosis copy of the 'Payment Slip' form stamped by Axis Bank and send it to,

3. ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD:
You may pay directly through either Master or Visa card online. Follow the instructions given in the SET website.

4. ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING:
You may transfer your SET test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option.

The SET website allows a facility for payment towards online Application for the Institutes along with SET 2010 Payment. The Institutes are:

> Bring the Admit card to the Test Center in addition to a photo-identity. An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following:

• Passport
• Driving license
• College / Institute identity card
• Credit card with photograph.
• Voter Id Card

> At the time of the written test, it is mandatory to produce the photo identity as described here. Symbiosis Authorized Person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-id.
> Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Institutes.
Note: Please note that no duplicate Admit Card will be issued in case it is lost by the candidate.
