NDA and NA Exam(II) on Aug 21, 2011

Union Public Service Commission will conduct NDA and NA examination on 21 August 2011 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and Naval Academy for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from June 2012 . The candidates joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B Tech Course and would also be given an opportunity to join Technical Branch of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:
(a) Nationality : A candidate must either be :
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

(b) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status : "Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1996 are eligible".

(c) Educational Qualifications :
(i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent exmination can also apply for this examination.

(d) Physical Standards :
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2010 as per guidelines given in Appendix-V.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR SPONSORED CANDIDATES:
M.Sc./M.C.A./B.P. Ed.: The admission for sponsored candiates/ NRI sponsored candidates to M.Sc. (all subject)/MCA shall be made on the basis of educational merit. The entrance merit comprising 30% of total marks secured in High School, 30% of total marks secured in Intermediate (10+2) and 40% of the total marks secured in Graduation shall be added and admission shall be made on merit list prepared on the basis of the above criterian. The Sponsored/N.R.I. Sponsored candidates of B.P.Ed. will have to undergo the physical fitness test, sports skill test and interview in addition to above mentioned educational merit.

Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) where basic plasma physics and domestic fusion program activities are pursued and the Facilitation Center for Industrial Plasma Technologies (FCIPT), a division of IPR, which is engaged in the development and transfer of plasma technologies relevant to industries.
2. ITER-India, a specially empowered project within IPR, to deliver India’s commitments (involving state of the art technology and R&D) towards International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) being constructed at Cadarache, France, under an international partnership agreement.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Acceptable disciplines - Candidates can apply in one of the following disciplines:
Physics (Qualification: MSc in Physics / Applied Physics after a BSc degree OR MTech after a BSc degree with Physics as a subject OR an Integrated MSc, BE / BTech in Engg. Physics is also eligible, provided it is a minimum of 4 years curriculum after Class XII.)

All the students enrolled for MPhil and PhD programme will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively, and contingency amount Rs. 8000/- per annum as UGC/CSIR Non-NET fellowship.

Entrance Examination Fee:

Sri Ramachandra University, Porur, Chennai-600 116 MBBS/BDS Admissions 2011-2012 Sri Ramachandra University, Porur, Chennai-600 116, has invited applications for admission to the M.B.B.S/BDS Degree courses for 2011-12.

The MBBS course has an intake of 150, likely to be increased to 250. There are 100 seats for the BDS Course. Selection to the MBBS Programme will be made on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the All India Common Entrance Examination to be held at Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune from 10 a.m to 1 p.m on 22.5.2011 (Sunday).


Selection to the BDS Programme will be made on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the All India Common Entrance Examination to be held at Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune from 2.30 pm to 5.30 p.m on 22.5.2011 (Sunday).


The All India Common Entrance Examination for MBBS and BDS, will be conducted in English only. In each, there will be 180 multiple choice questions (single best response) with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) based on the syllabus of H.S.C (+2) syllabus followed by major H.S.C. (+2) Boards/Universities. The maximum marks will be 100. All questions have to be answered and all questions carry equal marks. Answers have to be shaded with ball point pen in the OMR Answer Sheet supplied along with the question booklet. There will be no negative mark for wrong answers.


Applicant for MBBS/BDS should belong to any State/Union Territory of India and should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2011.

For MBBS Programme, applicant should be appearing in March/April, 2011 or should have passed H.S.C. Examination (Academic Stream of 10+2 curriculum) of any State Board/CBSE/ISC or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/ Biotechnology and Mathematics and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology and Mathematics and a pass in English; and must also have secured not less than 50% marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) in the Entrance Examination.

For Admission to the BDS Programme, applicant should be appearing for or have passed H.S.C. Examination (Academic Stream of 10+2 curriculum) of any State Board/CBSE/ISC (or) any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) obtaining a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) and a pass in English and securing not less than 50% marks (in case of SC/ST & OBC 40%) in the Entrance Examination. Those who are appearing for the H.S.C (+2) equivalent Examination in March/April, 2011 should submit a photocopy of the H.S.C (+2) mark statement, immediately on its receipt to the Registrar of this University either in person or by speed post, courier service. At the top of the H.S.C. mark statement copy, the candidates should write their ‘Entrance Examination Registration Number’ assigned to them by this University. If any candidate does not submit copy of H.S.C (+2) mark statement to the University office on or before 8.6.2011.


Results will be published in the University Notice Board and also at www.sriramachandra.edu.in Those who have passed qualifying examination other than H.S.C. (+2) (Academic Stream) Examination of Tamil Nadu should obtain Eligibility Certificate from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai and produce it at the time of admission. Different Application forms are prescribed for MBBS and BDS. Prospectus and Application form for each Programme can be obtained in person from the University office on payment of Rs.500/-.
